Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
CptMugwash replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome, love the detail, the eyes and snout, npu! I've been thinking about brick built dragons and wondering how to go about doing one, although probably half the size of yours and impressive collection of shiney things I'm like a magpie. Also, there's an idea Jakon, how about city flags and banners? Showing the colours of your guild with an emblem to represent you and your city. -
Thank you Jakon, you are kind I will take it, construction shall begin right away!

Awesome guide NM, I haven't used gimp but I have paint.net which is probably in between gimp and ms paint, user friendly and free, has layers and stuff but not as much as ps. I'll have to have a go at making a local map for my city sometime. Thanks NM.

Thing is I don't like ordering just a few cheap pieces but I do limit myself to about £30.00 Sometimes I see something usually shiney and go ooo pwitty *click*, then I get it in the post and go why did I buy this? I have 3 clear 4x4 half spheres, why? idk, I'm never gonna use them, well I might idk how though Anyways, I've said I'm not going on BL until January because I'm toing and throwing from places, I usually get my stuff delivered to work because that's where I am through the day. LT Thanks, after seeing DC's medievil guide I wanted to try and do some water but unfortunately that's all of the clear pieces I have, apart from windscreens and windows but those are no good.

BINGO! That's what I was thinking, hey guys, awesome watchtowers! truly terrifying In my Kaliphlin Bazaar I have some random guys jailed up and one about to have his hand lopped off for theft, but they are just generic figs that look like they're from Nocturnus because of the colours they're wearing, then again your colours are yellow and red, where as these are red and black, still Nocturnusy me thinks, but anyways yeah, nothing personal, I would never attack a person's sigfig if it's against the rules. -
DaMaximus Thanks, I would have used a yellow or black elastic band for the rope on the camel but couldn't find any. I'm not sure who he is, a curious traveller? or a deadly assassin? We'll have to find out later SkaForHire That's exactly what I was going for the classic style in a vast desert. I went on Bricklink and found some trees, I kind of go on look for a piece that I need then see what else that shop has, I sometimes get carried away though.

Are you a top-down or bottom-up builder?
CptMugwash replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If I could I would have put 1/3 Top-down, 2/3 Bottom-up. I usually do little planning as when I'm building it just comes to me, I'll start rearanging and building up until I get the desired look I want, also I have a decent amount of bricks but nothing substantial enough to do a large diorama or anything. -

FInally my artist has finished some paintings and they are yours to view. Me and my group came across this small oasis in the middle of the Siccus Badlands. Topic Also A siege weapon from Samrd'dha. Flickr Thank you Kcaj Nosnikta -
As the group march persistantly across the desert, their supplies rapidly diminishing they come across a small oasis, this little gem provides plenty of resources for them to relax and resupply as they go as the crow flies to get home. I fancied a bit of landscaping this time so I've done a small oasis. Thanks C&C welcome as always. More pics on my Flickr.

Gex, you are by far the most skilled cartographer of all of Historica, the time and effort you've made with these maps is amazing you truly are a magnificent person and it is an honour knowing you, we are a lucky Guild. Also another place for inspiration is the GLA from Command and Conquer Generals. -
weirdest place you've found random LEGO?
CptMugwash replied to slovakiasteph's topic in General LEGO Discussion
BUMP My bro found a brick in his hair. -
Greetings Jakon Rytight, I would be honoured if you allow me to build an embassy for Kaliphlin in Konugard. Thank you. Kcaj Nosnikta

Idk what it is but it only seems to happen on EB, also I forgot to mention another thing which could be after the update, whenever I click on a link it opens up a new tab and loads both the current page and new page

I think the multifaceted domes are cheaper then the smooth white ones. Anyways I still think it has a middle easterny feel with or without the domes, I do like the use of the cylinders, it's certainly an improvement, much more detail good job, look forward to seeing it in bricks

Thanks, i did want to capture the essence of what Kaliphlin is about, a melting pot of different cultures, the different figs, the busyness of it all.

I agree with what NM said, but I've got an idea about changing the building itself, what about making the 1st floor the same width as the ground one 32x32, for variation in the wall try doing something similar to the modular buildings with tiles on headlight bricks, not too difficult me thinks, on top of the palace a short tower possibly 8x8? with that round thing from pop then 4 other towers 4x4 using these or these and on top these, in either white or the multifaceted chrome gold ones. Anyways that's my idea and think it'd have a more middle easterny feel. Domes = middle easterny/indiany/exoticy also those pop arches, these ones . A few ideas there using bricks to get a feel, also a courtyard maybes as an extension with either a fountain, tree, or statue as centre piece, with flowers and stuff, maybes a bit of overgrowth on the palace to give it a kind of aged look. Cheers.

Angeli That is one impressive city, good work! How about Disney's Aladdin for a movie? Pop is an awesome movie aswell as the 3 Indiana Jones, Doom, Grail and Ark. In Octopussy I remember when Bond is being chased through the jungle and the guys are riding elephants, there's also a tiger which TLG is lacking then he goes into the water and gets leeches on him, some things to consider when doing a jungle, plenty of nasty creatures, spiders, ants, snakes, elephants, monkeys throwing poo, shame we don't have lions either. Mind you you could have a few dinosaurs in there, why not? like those raptors, good cavalry? Enough rambling, laters. -

DM I wouldn't worry about relating mocs with cities for now, but it is a good idea to say they're part of unclaimed cities to build them up. K-nut I'm still undecided on a place for my embassy, I said it might be in Nocturnus but I can't think of something good for the landscape, I think the limit size 48x48 is too small and should be 64x64 so we could use those large grey baseplates. I might end up doing Mitgardia, Mitgardia or Nocturnus as I think they have the most interesting landscape. I have plenty of white for snow and stuff, hmm, I need to think about this some more. (wanders off to ponder whilst mumbling ideas to himself) -
Definately noticing a difference for me but it's also because we fixed our broadband so it's running much faster too. There are a few things that are happening to me, idk if it's related to the update because I think this was happening before the update but when I sign and tick the keep me signed in box, after a while when I've gone off then come back on I've been signed out? Also when typing a post the cursor line doesn't move when I press the arrow keys only when using the mouse or when I type it appears, but other than that I can't think of anything else, it could be just me or is this happening to others? My browser is IE. Thanks.

Embassies are welcome in Samrd'dha. It's tropical with a lake, so palm trees and water. Cheers.
-
Well, it could be but I'm not really happy with it so it's just a generic market somewhere in the desert but it could be trading with Samrd'dha and others, there is a fruit stall there. I will be making mocs for Samrd'dha in the future, possibly create a thread like yours for Mpya Stedor and keep updating it. Cheers.

The City of Samrd'dha situated in the tropical centre of the beautiful island Gorr, a peaceful and prosperous city and is the homeland of Kcaj Nosnikta. The mountains, called Jhilamilata, direct to the north and east provides plenty of stone for the city, the jungle, called Pracurata, to the south east provides plenty of wood for the city which have made it flourish and is the birthplace of many a master builder. The main trade of the city is tropical fruit from the Pracurata jungle and fresh fish from Lake Visala, it also trades spices from the spice islands and stone from the Jhilamilata mountains. The trade route to Samrd'dha is down the Zenagi river and proves tricky to navigate if you're a novice and if you stray up one of the many tributaries you could find yourself with more than you bargained for, however for the locals the river is not a problem and dozens of sailers navigate the river with plenty of trade everyday. Samrd'dha has many tradeconnections, mostly with coastal cities such as Mpya Stedor, Ras-el-Akhen, Berigora, Na Ghitan, Stone Town, Barqa, Eastgate and Messahmuk. Samrd'dha does trade with the other mainland cities such as the capital Patraea and Queen's Cross, these mainland cities pay a good price for the tropical fruit but it takes longer to reach these places so it's quicker and easier to trade with the coatal cities, quick trade means quick money, not as much as the mainland cities but more money in a shorter amount of time, and has made Samrd'dha the prosperous city it is today. Anyways that's the write up for the city me thinks and I'm all open for any suggestions. The lake is called Visala. Oh and I saw the geographical locations and I think it needs updating with Samrd'dha and Mpya Stedor and Mophet? I saw it on the map but it's not on the list, idk NM probably knows all of the cities and towns, ok once I get around to taking some photos I'll post some mocs soon. Cheers. I'm sorry to hear that gabe but atleast you enjoyed it -
You're really painting a picture with these builds and the story, great job, also love the lighting making it look like day and night

Hey guys hope everyone is having a great holiday. I've finally started doing a kind of write up for Kcaj's birthplace called Samrd'dha, it's a prosperous city located on the isle of Gorr, in the centre with mountains to the north and jungle to the south. Anyways here it is. The City of Samrd'dha situated in the tropical centre of the beautiful isle of Gorr, a peaceful and prosperous city and is the homeland of Kcaj Nosnikta. The mountains, called Jhilamilata, direct to the north and east provides plenty of stone for the city, the jungle, called Pracurata, to the south east provides plenty of wood for the city which have made it flourish and is the birthplace to many a master builder. The main trade of the city is tropical fruit from the Pracurata jungle, it also trades spices from the spice islands and stone from the Jhilamilata mountains. That's what I have so far, I hope this is ok NM, I know you said you left the clear area for more cities along the northern coastline but I chose the location because of the variety and thought it'll be great for some nice mocs. Also what is the river called? I can't make it out on the map, I have an idea for the write up and will continue it. I love the zoomed maps, great job! Cheers. Also welcome newcomers -

Greetings all, I wish everyone a merry xmas and a happy newyear. Once I speak with my artist I shall have some pictures of my journeys. See you all soon. Kcaj Also all the map work going on is great, I might have to chip in once I speak to my cartographer.
