  1. These are really cool, the new 1x1 round tiles are great for this kinda thing and other ninjago parts. I like pearl gold things, mmm < (awesome smiley) I'm in the mood to go make some stuff but I'm at work away from my Legos
  2. Damn that's a wicked truck, loving those Boadicea spikes, it also kinda rmeinds me of Dead Reckoning from Land of the Dead. I hope there's a trailer to go with it, not exactly like Deathrace but something nice... Also for spikes as you've said the throwing stars aren't available in grey how about sais? or just use some knives.
  3. Fantastic, your storytelling is great and your mocs are stunning
  4. That's a great idea and that's what I shall do. I'll still keep everything within my city and stuff, I've already created a Maharaja and co and a gladiator for the drow games. Thanks.
  5. I know there's some rules saying you can't have different characters in different guilds and such but if both are in the same guild I think it's alright. Looking forward to seeing you and your crew
  6. Wow, that's coming along nicely, I don't know what your brick supply is like but maybe change the dark bley plates on the steps, ground floor and first floor, could be dark brown, tan or dark tan. The glass windows could be changed to panes with shutters maybe? For the interior, tiles, bar, tables, piano and some ladies, the Flamenco dancer from the collectible minifigs would look good. Brickwarriors has an interesting ptototype card hand but would be a bit expensive to get a hold of and could do with some prints. Also will there be a sign on top? printed or brick built?
  7. I wouldn't say kill him off but perhaps he could be doing business elsewhere in Historica. And ofcourse my new char would be staying in Kaliphlin. I'd still be continuing with my city and other mocs and may feature my old char in them. I'll have a think about it and see if I come up with someone awesome, the reason why is because my current one is a bit, well...boring, he's an architect but because of my lack of bricks doesn't really work out, for my new one I fancy a kind of commander of an army or something. We'll see, but first I must continue with my embassy. Cheers.
  8. Sssteampunk, I think this would be a great way to get kids more into the steampunk genre, with an action/adventure story, good guys fighting the evil pirates in their air ships, mechs and tanks. TLG already have an abundance of parts relative to this theme, so that's not an issue, whether or not it will be well recieved nobody knows, but unless TLG do something like this we'll never find out, if they ever do I guarantee I'll be getting my hands on those sets. I think this theme has the potential to span across a vast age range. Cheers.
  9. Hi, I was wondering, would it be possible to create a new character if you don't like your current one? I'm sure I've seen some people 'kill off' their avatars and have new ones. Also, I figured this was the best place to ask this because there is no general discussion/queries topic for Historica. Cheers.
  10. Si Thank you, I decided I wasn't happy with it so I took it apart, I made the landscape bigger to 48x48 and tried to do a big white arabic mansion type thing, not enough bricks, I don't want to be ordering anything else now, so I've redone the lodge style a bit differently, I should be done before the deadline, fingers crossed. I think I'll add in some market stalls. Rob That's what I meant, for the studs you could use minifigs and stuff to hide them maybe, I forgot about the clips, how about yellow instead of gold? I think that'd be the easiest option if you have sufficent pieces. NM For area A what about these and use tiles to decorate but leave a 1 plate high gap between the brackets, it's simple if you have plenty of brackets, you could change the colours of the tiles too. For area B I'd go with weapons, simple and inkeeping with the theme. DaMaximus Kaliphlin is no doubt the best guild.
  11. I love Skyrim, best game ever imo, apart from all the bugs. As always an amazing moc, loving all the details. Tell me, what level are you? how far on with the quest line are you? and do you roleplay, as in do you stick with something or do a bit of everything? like a 2 hander nord, a high elf mage, argonian archer, khajit thief, etc. also which side have you taken? empire or stormcloaks? I get sick of carrots and tomatoes and potatoes but now and then you get some nice ingrediants for alchemy. I can definately see some of the armour and weapons from Skyrim making their way to brickforge or something, the Daedric armour is so smexy.
  12. Loving all the details in this, the pots and pans that are a bit skewif is a great touch, I think the table could be tiled with some blood from the croc tale, fire place is great, a light up brick would set it off nicely excellent work.
  13. It's great to see everyone is coming along, for those waiting on orders fingers crossed they arrive soon. I'm really looking forward to see what we come up with for the embassies. Rob your buildings are very nice indeed, I think you can keep the nocturnus roof red but add some black like a border of teeth around the sides and some tentacles, I think you should keep a similar style throughout the building so it will be consistent. The mosaic is cool but I'm no expert, if you have some wedge plates use those for the sides of the mosaic but raise the mosaic up so it's level if that makes sense?, for where the gold studs are maybe use some clips facing down and raise the floor to hide them, if that makes sense aswell? If you're not happy just keep trying different designs until you find one that fits because only you really knows what you want. NM What you see is almost the whole of my 1x1 round plates apart from some different colours, I think I've got enough to finish it off.
  14. I saw this on your Flickr but never commented, this is just brilliant, very smooth and clean, table is a bit bulky but the chairs are cool, those new bottles are great for bar mocs, good job
  15. The Racer Mech is cool and cute, the feet look like high heels I really like those displays too, the lamp and machinery are nice. I think being red it should have a Ferrari logo on or something. Keep on MOCing!
  16. Either one, I like variety in my city, next they could do a new one with a burberry print for a chav cmf
  17. Reminds me of the movies Death Race, Cool car, I'm sure it'll rock in bricks.
  18. There are a ton of those in the PQ sets and they are pretty solid. Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! GO PLANET! With your powers combined I am Captain Planet! lol I can't imagine it tbh, the nazi episode was pretty funny though.
  19. Rob The big golden meat cleaving type swords? they're from the Ninjago set 9441 Kai's Bike. The pics you've got so far look really good, loving all the details and the cartouche is nice too. For my roof I'll either be using long tiles, wedges or slopes, depending on whichever I have the most of. What exactly are you stuck with the roof? do you have any wip pics of it? If you're really stuck then use overlapping plates, that's if you're bothered about studs showing. This is by far the biggest build I've ever tried and it is very time consuming, things I don't like I'll change them, I went through a few ideas before settling on this one, first I wanted to do a small embassy about 16x16 with a river and a mill, then it went to just the river, then decided on a larger embassy and a bit of landscape. Small update, I've changed it a bit, swapped the tan for white and instead of the pointed roof over the windows on the end I've used some golden dome pieces which looks alot better. The thing that bugs me though are the places above the brown arches where the little roofs under the first floor windows are, if I had enough I may have used more arches, I've tried various slopes but they don't seem to fit, but idk, any ideas? Just to remind people deadline is February 15th, 2 weeks away. Good luck everyone. Cheers.
  20. Hey, that's a great creation, love the techniques used, I think a few details like a boat, some birds and maybe some plants, also with a boat you could have a small scene going to give it a bit of life, but apart from those few details I think this is brilliant and I look forward to seeing more of your creations.
  21. K-nut Thanks, I like to have playability with my mocs aswell as detail so finding the balance that works is important for me. Rogueang It's probably the biggest moc I've done so far, cheers. Pie I was thinking it's a chance for more interesting mocs other than buildings and stuff. I was thinking of different gods/deities for specific regions of Kaliphlin, so people could have their own to worhsip in the city but also have a god or several that everyone can worship like a god of the desert aswell as the lesser ones. Jakon Thank you, it'll be alot bigger with the roof on, the idea is that it's a kind of lodge for both guild members of Kaliphlin and Mitgardia, kind of like a social club for traders etc. Upstairs I'm thinking of adding some bedrooms and a private room where the fire is. Thanks for your comments.
  22. I would have put ambulance if it wasn't mediocre, so I put dump truck simply because of the nice design of the dumper bit and ofcourse the wheel barrow
  23. Haha, looks cute, I like it, with no guns perhaps it may be suited as a drone for surveilance, unmanned scout mech, USM. Sexy legs.
  24. Damn that's a sweet ride, I can definately see the inspiration, love the shovel wing mirrors, can it be converted to run on pig manure?
  25. Ofcourse, they're all over the place, when night decends on the city everyone goes into the taverns, you can't beat the warmth of a good beer in your belly, here, here. Updated, map and list and the king of the city.
