If you were going to produce custom items for sale.....
CptMugwash replied to Jargo's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Figured I'd reply, what we see all the time are custom minifig parts, so, I'd like to sell more items for houses, interior and exterior, this would be great and you could easily do themed stuff, apocalypse, steam punk, city, fantasy, sci-fi, etc. Aswell as plants, trees, and for animals you could probably easily create your own using existing TLG molds, e.g. the horse mold could be used to create a giraffe, just by extending the neck, personally I'd like to see a more rigid elephant like the polar bear and a brown polar bear, not the new one from the city forest police station. You could also create some big cats in a similar way, somehow making a bigger dog mold and resculpting the head? Maybe a more experienced customiser could have a go with this? -
TBH I don't like it, it looks too duploey to me, I know they've designed it for playability but it looks too big and bulky kinda like the elephant, I much prefer the old style polar bear mold from the ice planet theme, shame they didn't do that one brown.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
CptMugwash replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
Oh yeah, I forgot about that, I don't really collect the medievil stuff, and the MMV is targeted at older audiences I guess, kinda like the modulars. Mind you, those new chickens and goats would look nice on a city farm -
Collectable Minifigures: Feeling the Packets
CptMugwash replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with fondling the bags, the only downside is looking like a weirdo whilst you're doing it in a store, fortunately my local toy store is nice but in a large supermarket or somewhere the staff and customers are nowhere near as understanding. Opening the bags or feeling too rough is too extreme, but I think it's the kids who do that, I can't imagine a respectable AFOL doing something that mad. And I don't see a problem with collecting for armies. -
Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
CptMugwash replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
A chalet sounds wonderful but reallisticly I'd go for the Candy shop, kids (and adults) love candy, and with the tavern/pub idea, we'd love it but I think it goes against TLG with pubs being related to alcohol and all which is why TLG will probably never make one, even as a modular, so yeah, or a winter sports shop as already mentioned. -
Hey LT, great layout, this may sound stupid but is this based off the actual New Mannum town? I can't remember if you've mentioned it or posted a real street view. Also, when doing your stickers/decals do you end up with excess paper or just print of a whole sheet of stickers/decals to save the paper?

You've got some serious skill thar, that boat is awesome, my bro would love that

That's a really cute moc, it looks simple but all the extra bits of detail really make it stand out, really well done I also think expanding it would be awesome, maybe a gas station, survivors on the roof, a sign saying 'help', 'sos' a pickup of other survivors with guns come to the rescue, bang! bang! splat!

Hey guys, some of you might remember me. Anyways, I'm back after my break from Lego for quite some time, I've just seen some of the new sets coming out for 2012 and I have to say that I came up with those ideas ages ago, like 3 years or something, having a kind of wild outdoors theme and doing a brown, the new one though I think is a bit naff, looks a bit duploey to me. But I did think of having some kind of mountie police, they haven't done a little camp yet, kind of like the Indiana Jones one, they might do though, they can see my thoughts Some of the sets do look good though, I'm liking that police dog van, I'll just be getting it for that lush car though. The car and camper is nice and I'll be getting that ambulance too, because I missed out on the last one, possibly the police pursuit too for the off roader. I've yet to get all of the latest minifigs and for xmas I'll be getting some modulars *rubs hands together with a grin* I'm rambling on a bit, just wanting to catch up on some juicy Lego news since I've been gone. Cheers. CptM

Well I must say it most certainly is awesome, I will overlook the green baseplates and once I get it I may change them to dark grey. Thank you for the pics and vids and everything. Cheers!

Very nice modular building, I'm doing something similar, like on a 16x32 bp, I'm loving the roof detail with that robber there, good way to add some playability The colours and detail on the front and the lil overgrown bit at the back are great, only thing me thinks is theres 2 many plants in the front, i think the tan flowerbox under the window would be better and lose the brown round one and the odd one on the left. Good job!

A big 48 baseplate, don't really need a showroom for used cars me thinks, maybe a shelter though and like you said a small office, a mechanic working on a car, a clown to bring some people in, if you do get some stickers sale signs and prices on the cars windscreens would look good. If you're going for a snot sign something simple like 'Cars' could work. I always thought about a car dealers, a used one and a new one, the new one with a nice show room and rotating thing and fancy sports cars where the used one would have smaller cars and like yours a small office and no showroom but a big plot with lots of cars. It's a good idea but it is a WIP.

Very nice, but what keeps amazing me is the little products on the shelves and hanging up, I especially like the elastic band with the sticker on it like some rolled up wire or something, the attention to detail is Grrrrrreat!

MOC: LeGobots Leader-1 and Cy-Kill
CptMugwash replied to TheLonelySquireOfGothos's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Reminds me of the ones I done as a kid, ah good times. -
Watch out Anime girls, this ship has naughty tentacles! lol Cool tentacles, it's starting to have a more alien feel, it kind of reminds of the 'Wraith' from Stargate Atlantis, although their ships were tentacleless, I think it's the whole living organism thing, unless the tentacles are mechanical but I doubt it.

Like Fuzzy said have a look at CC instructions and maybe GE. Ground and first floor could be the shop with an apartment or something for the store owner at the top. You could also include a basketball net to test the balls, shoot some hoops. For equipment well, Baseball bats, tennis rackets, foot/soccer ball, basketball, skateboards, snowboards, surf boards, bicycles, if you don't mind customs, brickforge have golfclubs also brickarms have cricket bats. Also clothes like tracksuits, baseball caps, shorts, etc. Thats all I can think of atm.

LDD MOC: Even BIGGER 5 star intercity coach + gimmicks
CptMugwash replied to Out of Sight's topic in LEGO Town
Nice bus, always thought the yellow one from City Corner could have been a double decker. I don't mind no stairs actually, if Lego designed one there wouldn't be like most other sets, besides how do people get to the loo without climbing over other passengers lol careful not to fart in everyone's face, sorry I'm being disgusting, parp! Speaking of parping, you've done a good 'jobby' on the loo, sorry I couldn't resist Colour suggestions, dark red or dark blue with a dark tan highlight? Also, the windows in the photo are blacked out so how about making yours blacked out too, although I don't know about those doors, perhaps some stickers would suffice. Good work -
Nice moc, I'm not normally a fan of LDD mocs but this was too good to not comment. I think Lego should definately make one of these for City as it has good playability with the crane, could work with the Indiana Jones Jungle Cutter and the new Lumberjack in MFS5. Good job

Hi LT, the little details are all adding up, I like the use of these for the gates with the signs covering the studs, great idea, reminds me of the Grand Theft Auto sign For the gum trees if you don't have enough bricks I'd try and find an alternative, unfortunately I'm not an experienced tree builder. Keep on mocing
-
Nice first attempt, you definately captured that steampunk look I don't mind those big prefab cockpit pieces used for the front and back, although me thinks the back needs some kind of roof/cover. I like the use of those technic links for the chains around the propellars and the little stool too. Good job!

What a delightful setting, lovely houses, nice water and cool cave. Good Job

Tournament on castle Burg Stolzenstein
CptMugwash replied to tnickolaus's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
*drools* This is amazing and it's sooooo big I love it, the colours are vibrant, plenty of details, everything is great, excellent job It reminds of the movie 'A Knight's Tale' with all that jousting Look forward to Robin Hood's den, I can imagine a lot of treehouses, a big feast with plenty of kegs of ale and mead, room full of treasure (to give to the poor ofcourse but he hasn't gotten around to it ), could have some beehives for Friar Tuck to use the honey to make the mead and maybe Robin and his merry men ambush a carriage too -
This made me smile, very good moc, lots of detail, all it needs now is series 4 werewolf Good job
