  1. I just can't wait for pics!
  2. Nice creation! I like the use of the big troll. Very original, very new. I like the diagonal pier and the dead body in the chest. What happened to his legs? Is he sailing away on the pier?
  3. I see you changed the moc. I like it. The peddel in the water is a nice toutch. The position of the minifigs is nice too. It looks asif the boat is actually moving fastly. The only small thing i could think which would improve the MOC is the color of the parrot foot to a yellow minifig hand. Since the parrot is red, his feet are red and the ship is red. Bart
  4. I trie to hide it as much as possible. The only people that know that I still collect LEGO, that I know of, are my parents and my sister. And they aren't to supportive of it... So I always buy things secretly. Oh my aunt and her family know it too. I ship all my bricklink orders to her adres. She texts me when something gets in.
  5. This sure is a handy dandy topic. I never new that you needed to earn the tags. Better start behaving!
  6. I find the creative critic a very nice addition to this contest. I've never seen so much constructive critic on MOCs. I really enjoy seeing someone change certain things of his MOC because outher peoples tell them their opinion. I've never been so motivated to help other people to improve their MOCs and really enjoy the atmosphere the creative critic has created. I feel more at ease to tell people what I truely like and don't like about their MOC and it actually gets appreciated. I love it!
  7. I see you made some changes. I like how it turned out!
  8. Oh my! The black arms of the monster are pure win!
  9. Welcome to eurobricks. Very cool of you to kick of here with a very nice MOC for the pillage the village contest. There are some things I really like, and some things I think could be improved. I like the use of yellow bricks for the sand. Though I would use tan bricks, I really appreciate the classic feel of yellow sand an yellow beaches. Using SNOT for the water is very clever too. The scorpion steeling the cup is precious and the sand castles are really nice. The things I think could be improved are: - The beach is to flat and to straight. It would look better if you made the beach more curvy like this: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/higdon/b...ut/im003032.jpg Credit goes to Higdon. He made the line where the beach and the see are separated more curvy and added plates on the beach to suggest hight difference. - The water is too lifeless. I like the use of SNOT but it looks to still. If you look at the pic above you can see Higdon added trans clear plates to suggest waves. - I have to agree with TheOtters about the plants standing so close to the water. - Finally I miss an animal a crab or a clamp or something like that. Or maybe a parrot which has landed on one of the castles. You could give one of the pirates a scared/angry face. He could try to scare the parrot away or something like that. You got a good thing going on, it can only get better. Good luck in the competition. ~Bart
  10. Hey Jasper, welcom to eurobricks. I hope you enjoy your stay here. That are some lovely moc's you got there! It's always nice to see a fellow Dutch LEGO fan on this forum. At least I assume you're a Dutch guy, Jasper Joppe Geers, sounds very very dutch! Groetjes Bart
  11. Congrats! I like the wedding dress!
  12. Wow, just when you think you know every LEGO element!
  13. Never ever has a music video been my inspiration for a LEGO creation. But the new video of the black eyed peas called meet me half way is just so awesome. It's so steam punk-ish. I love it. I tried to recreate the artists in their outfits. I actually really like how they look. I might do 4 small vignettes with 1 fig per vig. Depicting them in their world. Check out the clip here:
  14. Wow I really really like this creation. The island looks lovely. You used tan, brown, dark bley and green for the base. To me this screams win! It looks very realistic. The trees with the flower strems are very nice. I love the path to the natives home, which I really like too! I like the use of the flesh faces for the natives and the light flesh faces for the pirates. The two tall trees don't have enough green leafs for my taste. But that's just me! The ship is very nice. I love the tan deck. The only thing I could suggest needs changement is the sails on the ship. They look to big compared to the ship itself. The crew is great. I like the use of the pirate torso's with the red/blue color sceme. The bearskin is pure win for me. Are custom elements allowed? I'd check this just to be sure! ~Bart
  15. Thanks for the kind words guys!
  16. Thanks I'm honorred!
  17. This creation is just plain awesome! I love the brown male statue holding up the stand. The figs looks luvely! ~Bart
  18. Thanks for the added explaination, my enlish isn't that good!
  19. That sure is a nice collection! I consider myself to be a minifig collector too. I just love the little guys!
  20. Nice review, after seeing this, it makes me want to go and buy this set.... If only it was available in the Netherlands...
  21. Thanks for this review, could you maybe give us a frontal shot of the shark, cause in this side shot he looks awefull...
  22. I like this idea. The sign is brilliant and I love the little pie on the sign. The only thing I don't like is the pie on the 2x2 round tile. It looks too much like a picture, not like a LEGO decal. You could also use this piece for a pie: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3898pb01 I personally really like that piece. Good luck! ~Bart
  23. This is a nice and simple MOC. A shame the white bricks are so yellow... It would be great to see some flower strems near the gallow. ~Bart
  24. I do not get it. What's the contest? Is it a shooting contest or an eating contest or a pic up girls contest? Anyhow. There are some nice details in this MOC. The one thing I really don't like is the amount of brown used as floor. ~Bart
  25. You deffinately need to take some better pictures in order to be able to make a shot at one of the fabulous prizes. The island is too square and too flat for my taste. You do however have some very nice details in this MOC.
