  1. Wow bonaparte, I love the story that goes along with your MOC. Very nice to add some history facts to a MOC. I really like the minifigs in this MOC, there are however some things I'd change: - I'm not sure of the use of the grill tilles in the beach. These look a little bit out of place if you ask me. - I really like the islanders in the back, but I think it would look better if these were more hidden from the conquisators. This could easily be done by adding some green bushes and plants. I didn't know there was a Staff PTV II contest too! Bart
  2. Join the club... I made a brick built centaur using countblockula's leg design. I think he looks really good: http://www.flickr.com/photos/badboytje88/3693640709/ But when I see your centaur, it makes me want to cut up half a dozen of horses!
  3. You made some lovely combinations there. How rad would it be if you could own 10 (or more) buzz lightyears to make your own star command team. That would be so awsome. Back to your figs. The only tip I have for you is to sand the blue avatar fig a little bit. He looks a little bit rough around the edges. Other wise I find it a very lovely fig. Edit: What head did you use for the middle WWII insurgent?
  4. This is so very lovely! I love the umbrella's, the roof, the droid leg fence, the big ice cream sign, the figures are lovely and might I say Willy Scott's hair looks brilliant for an ice cream. Great creation!
  5. Happy birthday to you HappyOwl! May lots of LEGO come your way!
  6. OMG What voice did you do in the Harry Potter movies? I myself played student 11 when I was 17, in a movie about how to deal with the loss of death. The movie was called 'blikken speelgoed' which means as much as 'tin toys'. You can see me for about 3 seconds or so. It rocked! And more recently, I've been on television with my pupils. There was a lecture about a educative environment education game in Sittard, my class was invited to play the game about the environment at the end of the lecture to show the people how the educative game they developed worked. It was hosted by a talking Dalmatian dog who thought he was really funny. It was broadcasted on regional television. You can see me walking around for 4 or 5 times.
  7. I allways enjoy your MOCs sooo much. You deffinately have your own style. I love how you SNOT everything. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Bart
  8. I allways throw them away. Why would you want to keep the boxes?
  9. Great use of that very very common pirate torso! I love it. The centaur looks great to. It would look better with a 1x2 tile on it's back in stead of the 1x2 plate. But that's just my opinion. Bart
  10. Congrats you guys, you all did an amaizing job!
  11. Damn, I didn't notice big cam's post. Otherwise you would so own me a brownie. I posted notes on your flickr account.
  12. I've been hearing a lot of positive things about use of the powerminer monster heads... And that was one of the least complex things in the MOC. Someone with your name should know that. It's a Grindylow: A grindylow is a folkloric creature that originated from folktales in the English county of Yorkshire. Grindylows are a sort of "bogeyman" used as a ploy to frighten children away from pools, marshes or ponds; they are said to grab little children with their long arms and fingers and devour them if they come too close to the water's edge. They appear as some kind of light mud colored octopuses with large heads and big yellow eyes. Peg Powler and Jenny Greenteeth are similar water spirits. (the one on the right in the picture) Thanks, but I don't think I was the first one to use this technique. I believe I've seen it before, but I don't know who used it first. But who cares! Thanks for all the kind words guys and girls, I really appreciate it! Oh and SlyOwl (or should we call you HappyOwl from now on?) thanks for the blog on the front page of eurobricks. It's an honor! Bart
  13. He already answered your question: GreenStuff: Modellers when making extra detail on their miniatures use modelling Putty. This can range from simply adding a pouch or icon to sculpting complete new parts like arms and weapons. The modelling putty comes as a strip consisting of two colours when this is mixed it will become a green clay like material that can be sculpted into the desired shape. http://www.gamesworkshop.nl/catalog/modell...tuff-p-809.html Great figs as usual The Penguin. I was wondering, you make all these great figs. But do you display them at home? Do you take them apart? Do you store them with unpainted minifig pieces? Doesn't the paint rub off on regular unpainted LEGO pieces? Bart
  14. Whahaha this is great! This is exactly how the ship should be sold in the shops. So what did you do? Just add the middle piece of the other ship to the first one? I however wish I had money for one Brickbeard's Bounty!
  15. Aaarch He Who Must Not Be Named joined our forum! Get out your wands! Nah just kidding. As Matn said before I two hope the other kind of MOC's you make are Harry Potter MOC's. We could always use a couple more of those! Welcome, Bart
  16. Ah Sandy! Chapter 1 is way too short! Now we have to wait till chapter two... Nah just kidding, I seriousely love your comics. I've read them all and just can't get enough of them. Just keep them comming! Bart
  17. It's a really great head for a pirate indeed:
  18. At the moment I'm listening to my new Jamie Cullum CD Santa gave me. I really do love the little guys music!
  19. Thanks for the Raffle guys! It was really exciting going to eurobricks everyday looking if your creation was behind that days door! To bad I didn't win anything, I'll survive! Congrats to the winners!
  20. Whahahaha Spanish Buzz! That is aswesome!
  21. Humn.... If the minifigures are nice, I might pick up some of these. I'm not a fan of racers though...
  22. Oh my these 2010 LEGO castle sets look soooo promising! I can't wait to get my hands on them! A dark green wizard!
  23. That was exactly what I was going for! I love those classic tales and myths! Well normally I really dislike mixing the skintones but I really wanted to use the red top torso and the green poison Ivey torso, so I ended up mixing flesh and yellow (and grey, green, white, tan, sand blue and green). You could always say the yellow figs are salt water mermaids and the flesh figs are fresh water mermaids. Maybe I should have given this topic a different title... I personally really dislike the mermaid tale... I've made mermaids like this since I got my first pair of flippers and love the amount of color the flippers are available in these days. If you add a hinge you can even make the tales posable. As far as the Atlantis figs go, I just own the shark, and didn't want to mix him with my two other sharks, I like mine better! I was going for the ruined look at first, but it didn't turn out the way I wanted, so I changed it back. As far as the Grindylow goes, sure you can use it! I'm really fond of it myself. I wanted to add one in lime green too, but couldn't find the new space police sets in any toy shop... As for the head: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID...4&colorID=4 Thanks for your comments guys, I appreciate it a lot!
  24. The lost city of Atlantis There had been a powerful empire located to the west of the Pillars of Hercules (what we now call the Straight of Gibraltar) on an island in the Atlantic Ocean. The nation there had been established by Poseidon, the God of the Sea. Poseidon fathered five sets of twins on the island. The firstborn, Atlas, had the continent and the surrounding ocean named for him. Poseidon divided the land into ten sections, each to be ruled by a son, or his heirs. The capital city of Atlantis was a marvel of architecture and engineering. The city was composed of a series of concentric walls and canals. At the very center was a hill, and on top of the hill a temple to Poseidon. Inside was a gold statue of the God of the Sea showing him driving six winged horses. About 9000 years before the time of Plato, after the people of Atlantis became corrupt and greedy, the gods decided to destroy them. A violent earthquake shook the land, giant waves rolled over the shores, and the island sank into the sea, never to be seen again. Untill today! For more detailed pics please check out my flickr account here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/badboytje88/4212547521/ Thanks for watching, please leave a comment if you enjoyed my Atlantis MOC.
