  1. I just signalled to Will on Hothbricks that his assumption of two musicians is, while credible, still just an assumption.
  2. Well, given the overall dimensions of the set, i wouldn't expect it to be more than say 6-8 studs long, maybe 2 studs wide, 4 in best case. And judging by the geometry of the set I suspect it will have the wall close behind.
  3. A snowtrooper to believe the description.
  4. Luke and Dak are confirmed for the Snowspeeder, read the extended description
  5. You are looking at a wrong set The Ithorian and the droids you mention will be part of the Yoda Chronicles new set, not Cantina The only figs belonging to the Cantina that are listed are 2 new unknown minifigs.
  6. You know, I was also toying with that idea! But somehow I don't believe they would include one droid and not the other in a scene where they were both present, this ain't a strafighter set. No, my guess would be they'll be included in a cheaper set in Winter 2015. Remember, the RoTJ sets started with the low-cost Desert Skiff to continue into Jabba's Palace, Rancor Pit and the barge. I guess they'll just start big now and then give us the droids at a later time... That, or some of the "unused" set number-slots will be filled with a droid set. EDIT: No, scrap that. My money is on an extended run of Droid Escape, with new print on R2 possibly (whatyaknow, maybe even 3PO). Amazon.de just put it back on regular price with mention "available in 1-2 months" Hint much?
  7. That's winter wave, no one contested that. No CW sets in summer wave.
  8. Well, IF we see a Bith, I am convinced it would be exactly two (not a chance IMO for the third one), but then goodbye the dismemberment. Btw, I don't know if it was intentional but I LOVED this: Yup, I sign every word
  9. I think we should stick to what we know: Luke, Obi-Wan, Han and Sandtrooper are a given from the description & preliminary image that we have. Then, on the prelim pic, there was this blue-legged figure with greenish head and a blaster opposite Han, I believe it's safe to assume it's Greedo. That's five that we are sure of. Let's consider the 3 others: two of them are apparently new molds, for the prelim pic announces 2 new minifigs with Squidward head placeholders. Greedo is *technically* a new minifig, but apparently not a new mold, for we had a Rhodian with I believe the Separatists' Shuttle a few years back, that's why he is not one of the figs with question mark under the prelim pic. So two completely new molds and another fig. Droids are therefore out of the picture, coz in that scene they were together, it doesn't make much sense to include them separately. Droid scanner is visible to the right of the prelim pic, it would make sense to position them there, not in the inner Cantina if they were to appear in the set. So, still 3 to go, of which two are new mold(s). I feel someone is gonna be dissapointed. Ponda Baba and a Bith? IMO, very unlikely. To create an illusion of a band, you need two figs at least. So I feel it is going to be either Ezevan and Ponda Baba or two Biths. Argument in favor of the former: Squidward head would be a placeholder I would pick as representation of Ponda Baba definitely. The other one is that description says something along the lines of: "...make sure Luke, Han and Obi-Wan are armed..." leading to believe that Obi-Wan will actually need his lightsaber. Arguments in favor of the latter: two placeholders are identical + it's cheaper to have just one new mold. The remaining mysterious fig is either Wuher the barman (plain human, actually as plain as it gets, they could put the original Lego yellow smiling head and Luke's body and call him Barman or Wuher and I believe nobody would say a word...) or another Sandtrooper. Hope you guys liked this analysis. Looking forward to your comments.
  10. I was about to call a foul and then saw the last line The only true exceptions are Mandalorian and Clones battle packs, but these are well battle packs with added value of army building. And as everyone knows, war brings bigger profit then obscure jazz ensembles
  11. Very interesting concept! I like it a lot and may steal an idea or two for some of my future MOCs!
  12. It's called recent statistics 8 minifigs is already pushing it for a set of ~600 pcs, and to maximize the sales they need to include the "legends". Fans will be thrown a bone to gnaw in a shape of one or two "obscures" like Ponda Baba or a Bith. 3 musicians may happen in a galaxy far, far away, but zero chance for it in these parts of the universe...
  13. Well, last five years were the key word there
  14. Awsome build all in all, but I reserve a soft spot for that TIE, great work there!
  15. Yes, I was editing my previous message while you were writing these lines
  16. Well, droids excepted, not very recently, donbarca has a point. Besides, on that prelim pic, there are two Squidwards, and two "unknown" figs are listed, so I guess it's safe to assume two of the band members. Ponda Baba would require Obi-Wan to be present as well, which is not consistent with 8 figs count. My guess would be: Luke, Han, Greedo, Sandtrooper, 3PO, R2 and two Biths. EDIT: I just saw the expanded description where Obi-Wan is mentioned, so my wrong! Ponda Baba is almost a given if there's Obi-Wan around. And he is the only one that actually resembles Squidward mold-wise. If there is a bar, I believe there is a good chance we get the barman as well.
  17. And if there is a droid scanner, you can bet on R2 and 3PO being two of them
  18. Agreed. I am dissapointed by the lack of even a single CW set in the summer wave. I am sorely missing a Super Tank for the Geonosis display Not to mention a myriade of Separatists' ships and vessels we never got. And I don't consider the Police Gunship to be a nice parting gift, colors-wise it's hardly Star Wars, and it's an obscure vehicle shown in one (although amazing) episode. NIce parting gift would be a set with Bounty Hunter Ventress and fallen Bariss. But ok, in order to avoid getting a tag of eternal complainer, I am happy to see an AT-AT (provided it doesn't resemble remotely to the 8129 placeholder shown in prelims) and Mos Eisely Cantina.
  19. Oh. My. God. Speechless. What I would be happy with is ldd of "small" ISD you built, it beats LEGO midi model and almost certainly the one to be released in 2014 accuracy-wise. Once again, this might be the GREATEST thing ever designed in ldd, and my hats down-low to you!
  20. Ok, here are my thoughts about the new wave: AT-AT - The most anticipated set (of which I need 3 for my Hoth diorama) prompted the biggest WTF for that 8129 rip-off. If the legs continue to resemble remotely to that 8129 disaster, it's another skip and bricklink in waiting of the cavegod's UCS. I don't understand if you need to draw it to TLG that they just need to copy/paste the 10178 design without the silly motorized marketing stunt and they'd be fine, so even if these are placeholders, it provokes sufficient ire to see again that 8129 calamity. ISD - I can understand that this set will make many people happy, but there again, if it's too similar to 6211 it's a pass for me. Not that 6211 was very bad per se (contrary to 8129) but it's a tricky design to reproduce in bricks and ISD, much as the SSD is all about details. If they decide to go a similar road as with SSD (which I doubt) putting a lot of nice greebles, doing proper angles etc. and doing it in smaller scale than 6211 with much more details, it could be a stellar success and I would buy it for sure. But as we all know the good ol' TLG with its grand kids-friendly policy, they will butcher this one as well rigging it with spring-loaded missiles, flick-fires and other play features at the expense of proper design. Mos-Eisely Cantina - Well, this is the set where they can scr*w-up the least, for it is mainly about minifigs, and TLG has been doing a great job on that front lately, plus the new dewback looks great so, even if I'm not that much into Tatooine sets, I'd probably grab this one to go with my 2010 Landspeeder. While transforming this new (wrong-colored again and utterly unnecessary) Landspeeder into a moisture vaporator plant as someone suggested earlier. Snowspeeder - Now this explains why a nice set such as 75014 got scrapped after the shortest run in the history of SW. A relatively expensive set compared to the upcoming set that wouldn't be profitable in further run and was apparently just a Hoth filler while waiting for an AT-AT rehash that will sound a charge of new Hoth-collecting (I am opening bets for a new Hoth base in 2015...) Rebels & other sets - Not much to say here, as we know nothing of the upcoming TV-show. That Ghost design looks like an interesting variant of the MF, so I'm curious about it, though I doubt I'll get into Rebels collecting. Very excited, as many here, about Ithorian mold, although as no good news can go without one WTF hand-in-hand, The (Disastrous) Yoda Chronicles continued?! Whyyyyyy?!?!?!? Why TLG, not even the kids like it apparently, that last ship didn't seem to have stellar sales, judging by the fact that shelves were always overflowing with it whenever I went in (whatever) store selling Lego? I think it would have made more sense to delve into EU then just rub our noses in with TYC again. And finally - I still am a firm believer that CW wouldn't get chopped just like that, we are still very much due Commander Cody, Bly and Wolff in Phase II armor.
  21. It appears there was a teaser in Lego Advent Calendar online game about a new Lego Dewback! If you find succesfully all the bricks and complete a calendar vehicle for the last 4 weeks (each week unlocking a different Microfighter) you unlock a short video featuring a race between Han Solo's MF and Imperial Officer in his ISD. At one point, they pass next to a Dewback that looks highly polished and ready for a set release. So, Mos Eiseley Cantina anyone? Credits to Will from Hothbricks for first relating the news and the above picture.
  22. I got it yesterday as well, but I paid top euro for it Lego store in Paris sold it out few days before according to an employee there, so I rushed to Toysrus who had another two boxes of it, so I took one for 52€99. It was on my "Hoth" must-have list as a complement of 7749 and 8089. But it was also a totally unplanned purchase, I hate those, I like spreading my Lego budget evenly, I just couldn't fathom TLG would retire the set after only a several months run (it was released in March, I don't believe TLG ever pulled a plug on a set so rapidly). I liked the last iteration of the snowspeeder, so I am ok with a rehash, a second tauntaun can come in handy for some dioramas, and I like the Rieekan minifugure with the command post. So i guess, I probably won't regret it when I get around building it. But I dislike the way I was 'pushed' to go for it so abruptly and without notice. I don't understand why can't they make a communique : We are retiring that set in xy months, be friggin' advised...
  23. No, they had Lego Movie sets as well, as for the others I don't know, I follow only SW, sorry No, no Police Gunship or the tri-fighter, it's probably going to be a later release...
  24. I agree. 1 euro less would still be like . 2 euros less would be appropriate given the content.
  25. Could you please post a snapshot of it?
