  1. Yeah, that's not making any sense at all. If we're going to arbitrarily fill in detail, I'll add Greedo's background from "Tales of the Bounty Hunters." Two bit wannabe bounty hunter who got his start by turning over his tribe to an enemy. Never any form of success, no training and always looking for some kind of lucky turn. Never found it. Only "working for Jabba" because he'd put out a general bounty on Han. Even Jabba wouldn't have liked him personally, except as a drink. Yes, that's right. According to the book, Wuhrer discovers that the perfect ingredient for a special drink ends up being Greedo's corpse. He's just as much toast with a Shocktrooper as he is with Han.
  2. I've heard he calls it Sally and takes it in the bathtub. Surveilance photos would seem to confirm that. We're just going to assume it's filled with soapy water. :-X
  3. The Police - Every Breath You Take Stalker On! *wacko*
  4. Yeah, the auctions are a little odd to me, but you could find something there. Just be sure you read everything carefully. The real secret to Bricklink is to make a wanted list and use it to find stores that carry as many of the things you want as possible, at the best overall price. Sometimes one part is very cheap somewhere, but everything else is high, so you need to look at it as an entire order to determine value. The easiest way (to me) to make a wanted list is to sign in and do searches for things you want. In the search results you'll see a little icon like this: Press it and you'll go to a page where you can fill in details about that item. If you want a specific colour or any colour, new or used, etc. At the bottom you submit it and after a couple of pages it's in your list. Once you've built up a list, you can hit "Wanted", then "By Store" and it will make a list of stores that sell what you're interested in. Browse that and you just might find a bargain. Good luck!
  5. Jabba to Shocktrooper: Why haven
  6. Yeah, that's a brilliant little set for the price ... assuming one thing. No glue. I assume the torsos are blank, so we get good armour, helmets with visors, blank torsos and legs, lots of weapons, some skeleton heads for random ground decoration in battles, and whatever face the knights have. I hope the board is unglued as well. That would put this over the top. It sure beats the crap out of the cops and robbers one with a whopping 6 minifigs. Can't wait until it's available!
  7. City of Prague Philharmonic - The Essential James Bond On Her Majesty's Secret Service - A View To Kill (Suite)
  8. A very nice assortment there *y* I don't know why I never thought of a Jack the Ripper! Minifig Variations On!
  9. Great intro and pics, welcome to Eurobricks where there are no dark ages or disapproving looks. It's all about the LEGO love here *wub* Finland On! *y*
  10. Dengar would lose even if this battle was against the top or bottom half of what was left of Maul. Dengar/Han Solo would have been a fascinating fight though.
  11. You know, we can't really prove that he's a Jedi at all, can we? Was he labeled as such anywhere? He always looked like a guy who waited in line too long to see the movie and ended up sneaking in. Ok, he probably is one, so Han is going down this time. Doesn't matter who shoots first when the other one has a lightsabre.
  12. Some of these really are as bad as the others. Maybe a mod could merge the threads and call it "Novelty Songs: Some Really Crappy" :-P
  13. *pictures someone reading this, clicking that, reading it, clicking that, reading it* It's like shampoo. Rinse, repeat. AAAAHHH!!! I'll never finish this whole bottle! :-|
  14. And I thought I was being so subtle ... :-P
  15. We don't need no stinkin' badges! Nice banditos there! *y*
  16. You're absolutely right! I hereby promise not to buy a single Bionicle set this year! Or next. Or last year. >:-) Bionicle Ban On! *y*
  17. Putting it in perspective ... Anakin owned Tyranus. Obi Wan owned Anakin. A tough fight, but I think Obi Wan can take him. Even flashing back a bit, Tyranus was Qui Gon's master, and Qui Gon fell to Maul, who Obi Wan took out. I would have loved a Qui Gon / Tyranus match in real movie form. Now that would have been epic. All in all, given the right amount of rage, Obi Wan at that point was very strong and Dooku was always too smug. Difficult but entirely attainable victory for Obi Wan.
  18. Let's see. *looks around* Apparently I don't organize them at all... Ok, really. Specialty parts in tiny bags, seperated by type, then in much larger ziplocks, somewhat sorted by purpose. Minifig accessories in one, decorated tiles another, etc. Complete minifigs are standing on baseplates sorted by theme. Minifig parts. More generic types are sorted and in larger ziplocks. Legs together, torso assemblies together, etc. Special minifig parts are either together with their theme or in their own bags. Technic pins are in one bag. Gears in another. Everything else in one. Bricks are sorted by colour, size and type and either bagged or drawered. Baseplates are sorted and standing sideways like books. Keychains and non building items are in old 80s lego cases. Instructions are in a series of large ziplocks for now. Albums are planned for later. Seems so much organized when explained. It's a mess.
  19. Great review as always! *y* LEGO is timeless, so there is no such thing as an old set. I never build brick monsters/creatures, but this set had such a nice assortment of parts that I had to pick a couple up as they weren't clearancing out on Shop @ Home. I absolutely love dark orange and tan, so it was an automatic win. I love the use of "familiar characters" in the review, I can almost hear Hinckley screaming, "my megabloks!" :-P You sort of look like you're planning some vulture stew though. Might have to start a new challenge to determine a winner there. Sinner and his Big Pot o' Doom VS Giant Vulture! Only thing is, does everything horrify the Mrs? She seems perpetually shocked and/or dismayed at the goings on here. Now that I think about it, I can see why. I'm occasionally shocked and/or dismayed 8-
  20. 7660 Naboo Fighter, rounding off this run of sets. Still no Hoth or Republic Cruisers in sight. Looked at and almost bought some new Castle. I know I will, but Toys R Us jacks the prices here, so I'll wait for somewhere else.
  21. Very nice village! *y* I like the tight pack, the assortment of styles, and the attention to detail. Those towers, though intentional, do throw me off a bit, but I can see the influence. It's funny how one small thing stands out in most models, and in this one, for me, it's the water. The boat going over the falls looks wonderfuly precarious, and the guy swimming/bathing is a nice touch, especially since he's wearing his helmet ;-) Great work! :-)
  22. A fierce battle, Yoda jumping around, tossing all kinds of things at Obi Wan who manages to fend them off with both the force and his sabre. Time passes. Obi Wan turns off his sabre and says, "if you strike me down, I will ... " as Yoda force pushes him through a wall of rock, off a cliff, down into a ravine, and then directs the mountain to bury him. "Blah blah blah, always chatty was he," mutters Yoda, "now his ghost I'll probably have to listen to."
  23. I like this one better than the other one for parts and such, plus I'm generally a sucker for any different minifig, but yeah, that price is steep. Great review though!
  24. I'm suddenly distracted from the whole battle ... >:-) As we all know, the Super Battledroid suffers one major design flaw, the arm clips break easily, and I'm counting on this one having at least one loose one. Leia spots the loose arm and quickly smacks it with her chain, knocking it off as the SBD attempts to gain a lock on her. She dives across the floor, grabs the arm coming up behind the droid where she begins beating the crap out of him with it. Not being the most maneuverable of things, the droid can't seem to get turned around quick enough to fight her, and she just keeps circling behind him, smacking away, until finally doing enough damage to shut him down. Behold the power of the metal bikini!
  25. Barring any attempts at creative writing, clearly Obi Wan takes care of this one quickly, then stands around wondering just what Qui Gon saw in those pesky Gungans.
