  1. All the best on this day of your spawning! ;-)
  2. Is the red tie an absolute requirement, like a signature piece for him? So far, everyone with a red tie also has some kind of insignia, pilots and train people mostly. IF you aren't a purist, brasso the logo off and go. Suits are easy otherwise. The black ones seem most fitting to the character, despite that pic. I know I remember him in all black. Custom may be the answer if you're picky. Let us know what you decide :-)
  3. Cloud City: done! (poorly) Endor: Battle pack/normal set material Death Star: mmm, black C3P0. Yep, DS has the best potential. Plus it's a good excuse to issue another expensive set with Tarkin, and we know LEGO loves doing that. You know, I have a new basic philosophy concerning SW sets. They're going to suck. BUT if we can get good figures out of them, we can build the rest. All I care about now are figures. I used to have a similar theory, but it included printed pieces. Since we keep losing them to stickers, now it's just minifigs. Oh, and a Geonosis playset that shows DS plans? Nah, won't happen. It's the most boring static scene in the movie and would require too many new figures. No chance. I did see an incredible version of it on Brickshelf once though, involving a whole bunch of brown rowboats. It was surprisingly good.
  4. That's great! I wouldn't change ... ok, I'd change one thing. Luggage area railings. That's the only area lacking for me, it needs a higher top railing on the sides. Oh, and glancing back, I'd tile off those studs facing down into the windows, but that's me. I'm not sure if that would make the openings too small, but I'd try it once to see. With or without that, it's *y* *y* *y*
  5. Did I miss the "everyone change to realish people with incredibly dark backgrounds and poor lighting avatars" meeting? 8-| Damn me for finally taking a nap after 2 days.
  6. Misquotes On!
  7. Vader and Chewie look at each other for a moment. Chewie dies. NEXT!
  8. Finally thought I had enough orders in to get this show on the road. Collected everything together, found a nice shiny new baseplate and started laying out the foundation. An hour later I realise I don't have 8 vital slopes, I'm 3/4's out of dark red, I hate these doors (not sure what I'm doing about that), I hate the look of what I've done so far and I'm ready to toss it back in the sorting bin. *wacko* >:-( AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! That's better. Time to hit Bricklink again. Glad we ended up with an extra week to get this done! Credit Card On!
  9. Somehow I knew you'd show up here. Well, I knew that MORE of you would show up here :-P
  10. Depends on how one defines 'crud' I suppose. It's a poll thread. Would you prefer we all sit with our hands in our laps, quietly waiting for teacher to call on us for our answers? :-P If you aren't having fun yet, make some! If you do, I promise not to come along and scold you for it. Honest. Life is too short to take the wrong things seriously, and most things are the wrong things. Wouldn't take much to fix that, I bet. >:-)
  11. (sailing rough server seas here, hopefully this won't post 12 times) Promos? Love 'em. Cheap. Keep those two things in mind and offer me anything interesting, especially things involving unique parts. There was a promo once with a green helmet and spear, some kind of KKII thing. Much as I disliked KKII, I want that one and any others that may have been like it (assuming they had unusually coloured helmets or weapons). Beyond that, promo bricks from the LEGO stores around the world and unusual parts that aren't part of sets (PaB specials and such). Just remember: When you think imperialshadows, think cheap. Hey, it's true, I'm not going to deny it. Cheap means I can buy more, and with LEGO, there is always more to buy. *wanders off muttering* See plane. See plane fly. Fly plane, fly ...
  12. That Slave I really isn't bad at all! I saw a poll once asking if we would be interested in a Duplo SW line and I said no. Now I'm beginning to wonder. I'm still thinking no, but a Duplo Darth Vader would be shockingly superdeformed (even more than normal minifigs, I mean) and thus even cuter, if that's possible. It's something to consider, but I'm not buying piles of Duplo for a contest, so don't get any bright ideas! :-P
  13. Welcome! Please be sure to have a good look around, there's a lot of great information to be found here, plenty of fun contests and community projects to participate in and lots of nice people to chat with. And then there's me. If you can overlook that, you'll love it here ;-)
  14. Did you actually mean to post a pic containing your naked reflection in the spoon? Nevermind, that only works on teapots.
  15. But will they ever adjust to all of the potentially scary combinations of similarly structured insanity? Let's hope not, it's more amusing when they're taken unawares. ;-) I know not this sarcasm of which you speak. >:-)
  16. Yes, yes I am. :-P In the spirit of the great films of the 30's and 40's, I banter. Main Entry: 1ban
  17. Received 2 eBay and one Bricklink order ... 1) Piles and piles of dark red and dark green goodness for a modular building project. 2) Misc whatsamahoosits (tree stumps and minifig parts and stuff) 3) Big bag o' ???. Yes, I like finding the worst pictures on eBay and manipulating them until I think I know what they are, then buying them dirt cheap for what I think I see amidst the mess. Today's $10 assortment included a black abs shortsword (only one ever available was in #6041-1 from 1986), a green rounded top window (from Armada Flagship 1996/2001, probably the original), a pile of late 60's early 70's era windows and doors that they really should start making again (at least the windows), a nearly complete Ep2 Jedi Starfighter (I didn't even see that in the pic) and a whole lot of random weirdly goodness. It's like a treasure hunt, delivered to your door! This weekend it should be a trip to the Orlando PaB (largest in the world, they say), so I expect to have another report to make ;-)
  18. I'd say you have a nice box, but someone would come along and point out how wrong that is. ;-) Poor kid got all confuzzled. Someone needs to sticky a new thread entitled: "WTH are those people talking about? A guide to various forms of forum insanity, the insane, and the people who love whacking them." They won't let me make a title that long ... :'-(
  19. No one is walking away from this one with a clear victory, except that he can walk away. I'm going for Council over non, so Mace wins a narrow, but incredibly difficult battle. Barely.
  20. Um, yes. It is just you OR there are different posts in the first page than before. Don't mind him. Conjecturally, clam cream contains chemical contaminants certified to cause clinical craziness in certain carnivorous Cwalruses. Drats. Why couldn't he be a cat or something?
  21. There aren't LEGO stores in Belgium?
  22. A mooving display of barnyard beauties. Wish I could afford them right now, but blast LEGO for putting out so much good stuff all at once. Definitely will be great for a more rurally inclined builder and blurs the line between 'official' and 'custom' even further. Keep up the great work! *y*
  23. Uh huh, Mr. All Common Sense and Logic Talkin'. :-P I was mostly tongue in cheek there and that last "Lamer *n*" was actually for my laziness of not just putting an image on Brickshelf (ok, half lazy and half "gee, is it going to work today?"). I did mean the part about his crummy blog. I probably should look and see if it even is a crummy blog though. Fine. I'm wrong wrong wrong! It's all me! Go on, why don't you just whack me with something now, you've already broken my heart, you cruel walrus! Don't think that means you don't have to go back to your box now. *points at the box* Hey, wait a minute. *looks in the box* You've got a tv, a computer, LEGO, and ... what's this? An ice cube tray? I seem to recall that someone is missing ... Oh my. 8-| *runs off to report this incident to Chief Brody*
  24. I've always had a theory about that. I bet the Emperor had one of those throne rooms EVERYWHERE. On both DS's, on Executor, on various planets, you name it. I'm not sure they all had that convenient ventilation shaft to throw him down, but I bet they were similar in ways. But here's where I think LEGO could do something DARING! Yes, I said DARING! Modular Death Star. After the success of Cafe Corner, imagine a Modular Death Star. Flash back a few years to that Cloud City set that wasn't so hot. Ok, I'll admit, it could have been a lot better, but it was modular! Arrange the rooms however you want, add rooms, etc, all connected by pins. Flash forward to now. Death Star Hangar. Works for the DS, works for DSII. Imperial Hallway. Every station needs at least 182,000 of them. Death Star Elevator. Recreate that exciting elevator ride to the detention block OR to meet the Emperor. Detention Block. Dianoga INCLUDED if you order NOW! The list could go on and on... Yes. Modular Death Star! Don't settle for anything less! You know... I'm crazy. I don't know why you people allow me to post at all. If you call in the next 30 minutes, we'll include, ABSOLUTELY FREE, this handy Death Star Toilet! Yes, be the first on your block to know if it's a moon or a space station! CALL NOW!
