  1. Glancing through the summer catalog, I can see where they're definitely using these in all of the new Castle sets, but others don't seem to be. I think it's limited to white at the moment, maybe it really does have something to do with the horns, but it doesn't seem that critical to me. I was more annoyed when they moved the sprue point on the seats.
  2. That would be ... you, oh green one. :-P Look at recent history of the mid to large sets. We're getting shorted on figures most of the time anyway, and how many new ones appear? Well, let's see ... Jabba's Sail Barge - 1, Lando. Star Destroyer - 2, Tarkin and black R2. (I will not count that brick atrocity of a holo Emperor). Hoth - 0. Jedi Starfighter - 1, Kit Fisto. MTT - 0, unless you're desperate to count the dark red and dark blue droid torsos, and I'm not. Heck, even outside of SW, look at things like Cafe Corner. 3 minifigs, all rehashed parts. For a set that size? Bah! That means, thinking like Lego, we get a US$100 Tantive IV with 1 new figure and a bunch of rehashes. Oh, and stickers, have I got stickers! Yep, perfect ... well. It's what we'll be lucky to get.
  3. Jango was a truly battle hardened fighter, Boba learned from the mean streets. Jango is using the same equipment for the most part, but all newer parts. Throwing all sentimentality aside, Jango takes Boba, but not before suffering serious and possibly life threatening injuries himself. Jango wins. Barely. As for their deaths... I blame Lucas for that nonsense.
  4. Man, now this is a contest I'm completely unsuited for ... Hmm. There's always bricklink, I guess. Evil, evil contests, making me spend money on LEGO. ;-)
  5. One could even go so far as to say that you're tied for fourth ;-)
  6. Finally broke down and ordered Cafe Corner, so I had to find some stuff to round out the order. A street sweeper, an airplane mechanic (shh, he could be having lunch), an Emperor Palpatine keychain (um... shush), a half price Ludo set (they're city people!), that somewhat lame cops/robbers tic-tac-toe set cheap. Some pick-a-brick for my impending City project entry (I'm still waiting for 2 bricklink orders and one from eBay for that anyway). Was going to order Market Street, but it's backordered until October. Guess I'll wait for the new SW magnet to show up on S@H and order them together. All in all, a good day. And I don't know about those Mars sets Sinner, but I read a suggestion somewhere to use the orange wheels as space barrels, and that might sell me on a couple. I despise those blob aliens though. They look pre-whacked or something! *n*
  7. I'm considering ... Though finding one in the right condition, somewhere that I'm able to make a decent enough order to make it worthwhile seems difficult right now *sad* Concerning Fabuland: Are there actually 3 styles of eyes? Almost completely solid with a dot, bordered in white with a black center and dot, and those sort of creepy human ones? Or are the first two the same, depending on surrounding colour, like in the one I want?
  8. That reminds me of a LEGO promo brick seller I've dealt with on Bricklink. He has a museum set up with people walking around admiring the various bricks. It's quite effective.
  9. You people aren't thinking LEGO style. E3 Tantive IV gives them an excuse to make an E3 set that will appeal to the OT people. THEN, 6 months later ... Rebel Trooper Battle Packs! Case closed.
  10. *buys up all the old cones on Bricklink* One day they'll come crawling to me, begging for their classic cones, and then my plan will finally be complete! *laughs an evil laugh* >:-) Doesn't look that bad though ... I'll also wait until I see one in person before I worry too much.
  11. I don't even like the PT and I'd still take all of those sets, plus: Holographic everyone. If they ever appeared as one, make them, and I don't mean a sticker on a trans brick, I mean trans light blue minifig. We all know it's possible already, just make them at any expense and we'll pay it! EP1: Faamba with cannon, even a lame rubber technic cannon More pods. With real pilots, even if it means putting up with single piece molds like Sebulba. EP2: Count Dooku's ship, what's-its-name (Solar Sailer?) Cloning Facility, Kaminoan Cloner, some other slightly different one, Jango? Obi? Boba? Generic young clone of Jango using Boba head? Anakin, Padme, and Watto, rickshaw and droid. Tiny stall where Watto was. EP3: I'll see your Bail speeder and raise you a Tantive IV playset with MF! HA! Younglings (some assembly required) 8-
  12. Try as I might, I can't manage to recreate the 2x2 footprint of the original part, but I did manage the general shape with a double of each (4 parts to do the job of 1). Problem is, that gives me a 3x3 which is just entirely different, so it's disqualified. *n* I mean, what if I only had a 2x2 space to work in, huh, what then smarty pants? :-P And my part is a prettier colour than yours. X-D :-| Oh no, what have I said? 8-
  13. That torso all but guarantees that all of your future whacks will be reach arounds ... 8-
  14. I look at 'rare' in three ways. Production Rare: Appeared in 1 set, probably 1 piece total. Could be anything. Never made again, but could suddenly reappear. Special Rare: Limited run, hard to get, never seen again. Anything is eligible. Example: Chrome C-3P0 Shouldn't-Exist Rare: Test runs, mold cleanings, employees who make things on their lunch hour (uh huh, tell me that's never happened). Parts that are in colours they don't belong in. Anything from the Red Ghost to the Red Vader, with stops at kepis and such inbetween. Honourable mention to really old parts that didn't get much production but seem useful. Like this: Always seemed like a neat part, for only being in 1 set and 1 roof parts pack in the 60's in blue, and 3 '60-'72 sets in red. I managed to find a blue one in a big box of old 60's parts and am glad to have it. It's still $1-2 cheap, price isn't always the point. Speaking of which, I'll tell you what I want, if anyone sees it. Other colours of lightsabre handles. Any other colour. ANY. Like, all of 'em. I hope that was clear enough ;-) Edited because: Italics aren't the same as images.
  15. Well, that's nice. Now give me back my Viking Ship and stop customizing my sets! :-P
  16. Mace could use the shine on his bald head and still kick a droideka's appropriate anatomical part. Mace: 1 Droideka: 182 shattered pieces
  17. Put me down for ... 3825 Krusty Krab 4884 Wild Hunters 5524 Airport 5525 Amusement Park 7018 Viking Ship 7020 Army of Vikings 7021 Vikings vs Ofnir 7657 AT-ST 7701 Grand Titan 7702 Thunder Fury 7708 Uplink 7770 Deep Sea Treasure Hunter 7785 Arkham Asylum 7786 Batcopter 8877 Vladek's Dark Fortress There's more, but I know those are still sealed unless I stole a minifig out of one, so no hassle.
  18. Which is worse, that you need to ask or that I don't? :-P
  19. This is a late reply, but hey, no one said I was quick ;-) I like my red Vader helmet, just as I'd like some unprinted Stormtrooper or Clone helmets. Why? Statues. I like any unusual colour elements for statue making or just something weird. I'd have been happier with a dark bley Vader to go with a dark bley Emperor statue, but you take what you can get. I do have a plan for him though, when the time is right. As for the 1x1 green tiles... Peeron used to list those as coming from one LEGOLAND exclusive maxifig scale pirate, but now they're saying that 5 came in the Dragon sculpture and not mentioning the pirate at all. I know I've seen a pic of it and it existed. My imagination isn't quite that good, I hope. Either way, I remember a discussion once that indicated that there was a cheap printed 1x1 green tile that people would brasso for the same result. I don't really care all that much for plain bricks in odd colours, just because I haven't needed any, but I could sure use some of those 32x32 tan baseplates... *sigh* On a similar note, I still have a small pile of 2x12 bricks in a colour I can't even identify. It's somewhere around bright light orange, but leaning more toward yellow or tan. It's just ... unusual. I know it came out of a PaB somewhere in Europe, so I assume it was some kind of random thing they were clearing out.
  20. It's cute. No, really, it is. Oh geez, at least I didn't point and say that... >:-) That's a lot packed into a small space, and yet Starwars4J is right, it needs something more. Maybe some keypad type panels somewhere inside, like next to the door (inside and out) and on that wall across from Hinkley (that is Hinkley, lounging around with the martini, right?) ;-) Seems like it needs a hot tub too. Not sure why, but I'm figuring these are some party aliens. Great use of the nesquick head, btw. I've been trying to figure out something to do with those since I bought a pile. Looking forward to more of your creations!
  21. Nice work! *y* 2, 4, and 5 are my favs, if I'm counting right. You said there were 7 but I can only seperate out 6, so I might be confused. 1 is my least fav, though there isn't anything wrong with it. 900 euros ... wow. Won't be doing anything like that in my future, but maybe seperately and carefully Bricklinked, it could all be done cheaper. I'm sure it could. Keep up the great work! :-D
  22. Obi Wan at his prime vs an aging but still strong Yoda. "Wearing your hood, you are, finding it too cold here Wanny? (no one knew that Yoda had a pet name for Obi Wan)" says Yoda. "It isn't my fault, this is how they designed me, you babbling old incoherent midget!" cries Obi Wan, becoming more and more frustrated with Yoda's constant bouncing around and taunting. "Short in height I may be, but short in the pants are you!" counters Yoda. "That does it!" Obi Wan screams, as he pulls on every ounce of darkside force he can manage and slices Yoda in half. "And people say you can't find LEGO half off anymore," chuckles Obi Wan as he walks away.
  23. That means it must be catching :-X All I can do now is buy a Fabuland sigfig and surrender to this, before I drives me mad! >:-) *wanders off to Bricklink to see if anything matches me*
  24. Excellent review and a nicer set than I expected! *y* Blue Batman will thrill Adam West, and I'm always happy to get a variation on any good figure, so that's a win. Bane is very impressive, no other way to put it. Riddler, not so much so, since he's a repeat, but fine. That dirt bike is great. I bet we can expect a dark bley one out of Indy and other colours could appear in City somewhere. No way they'd make that and not use the heck out of it. Based on what they did to that one, maybe Exoforce too. Fence/gate/wall/base/haha/wth. The less said the better. *n* Bat Tank, battank, batank. Bat Tank. Looks pretty good, I can see putting it together and leaving it alone, and I can see it making a dupe of this set worthwhile. Yeah, careful with that cannon, you'll shoot your eye out kid *pirate with eyepatch* ;-) Kind of wish we had a couple of walls inside that gate, but hey, they wasted enough money on those parts, better to see more go towards the main attractions anyway. Could have used a henchman, at least one for the Riddler. Figure after 2 sets, that's the last we'll see of him, so I guess I'll have to look up what they normally dress like and custom one up. Much as Scarecrow won't get one (I can't remember anything about him, so I don't even know if he'd have henchmen, nor do I know if Bane would). Overall, despite a few -'s here and there, this is another win for LEGO and another greatly appreciated review! *y* *y* *y*
