They have, however, mastered playing dead, and on certain inclines they do a fine job of rolling over. X-D

Guide to the Pirate Mini-Figures - Part III - The Imperial Guards
Shadows replied to TalonCard's topic in LEGO Pirates
I really like this issue, and no it isn't because I was involved, it's because I was in my dark ages through the entire Imperial Guard era. Over the past year or so, I've been buying them up loose and building my own ranks, so it's nice to read about them. The next one should be especially interesting as well, since it covers a faction I completely missed as well, but we'll save that for next time ;-) Pirate (and Imperial) Minifigures On! *y* -
Looking around at all the brick, I think I already live in one... ;-) I will admit to having seen a lot of MOCs that I'd live in, but not so many official sets. LEGO houses tend to be a little drafty around the back. 8-|

Master Chief: Phred's version
Shadows replied to Capn Frank's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Those look very nice, and I would agree about the dark green. I always look for any excuse to use any of the dark colours and this works very well. I also like the warthog (ok, I haven't played the game since it first came out and can't remember if that's what that is or not, but I think it is). I especially appreciate how you added the special LEGO dust to the baseplate to give it a natural outdoors look. I use that particular trick on a lot of my baseplates and MOCs for added realism. ;-) Great job to both you and LuxorV. *y* Heck, someone ought to interview you sometime. Like, this coming monday or something. Yeah. That's a great idea! STAUDIE! X-D -
He's a jolly good MOC whacker, that's what he is! *y*

I'd be more worried about your name being wrong. Perhaps a kind admin can get together with you and correct that. That out of the way ... Welcome to EB! Be sure to check out the Big Billboard o' Doom

Probably, but who really knows? If the line was truly successful, I'm sure it could continue beyond that, but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes that way. Exactly. They were filler, like Avatar, but cheaper since they don't require licensing.

Stock figures (as they look in the instructions): With their appropriate sets or sorted and organized by type on 16x16 baseplates. Custom figures: In vignettes or at the back of their 'official' counterparts on baseplates. Minifig parts are sorted by theme and placed in plastic compartmentalized containers. My sigfig has his own little 4x4 plate and sits on my tower next to another 4x4 with an old skeleton in a pirate bicorne who is stuck to a ships wheel by a cutlass. *pirate* *skull* I have a few hundred assorted minifigs just standing over there to my left on a bookcase staring at me. 8-| I wish they'd stop staring. 8-

Accidentally sponsored. The 'artist' as it were, misled them, as I'm sure you know, but I want anyone else reading to understand that LEGO was displeased by that whole situation. Geez, you'd think I wanted a job at LEGO legal. *wacko* Or if someone built the Munster's house and included Grandpa sitting in his favourite chair playing checkers. That wouldn't be so bad in the appropriate setting. That's the word we're looking for ... appropriate. *y*

I'm having a hard time with this one. They're both "must haves" but for different reasons. I just can't break it down into which one I like more without it being a "modular vs old style system" decision. I tried it as a "which is more worth the price" and didn't get there either. I'm going to have to think about this. Not too surprising. :-P Actually, I never thought David was all that impressive, if you know what I mean. *nudge* ;-)

2 words... Goofy. Fun. *y* Air tanks, riflemen... sure, it's crazy, but at the same time the whole things looks retro-cool, so that's a win for me. To be fair, we have trolls and orcs and undead skeletons during the castle era, but no explanation of what happened to them by the time the pirates were sailing the seas. WHOA. 8-

Let's see how many points I can make that already have been. Didn't love the line, didn't hate it, just bought them for parts and minifigs. Every EF set I ever bought was 50% off or better. Yep, that pretty much spells disaster for the line, so I'm not surprised. I'm a little disappointed since it was nice to pick up some of them cheap, but there are so many great sets out there, I don't really need the additional expense anyway. I won't recall the series fondly, nor will I eternally despise it (Time Cruisers, anyone? :-X). Agents will be the next line of this type. I'll buy them cheap for parts and minifigs, never attempt to collect them all, and I won't be broken up when they fail. Perhaps it's time for LEGO to launch a new/old winner and this will eventually lead there. Pirates On! *y*

Official LEGO Stories as Printed on Pirates Boxes
Shadows replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Pirates
All of the stories are now posted at Classic-Pirates.com including one that isn't in this thread, so you might want to head on over and take a peek. Be there or be square ... rigged. *wacko* X-D -
Clearly I haven't been paying enough attention to my horny hotties, I'll go google image her up right now and rectify that situation post haste! >:-) I still bet they'll reuse that part somehow. ;-)

You are right. LEGO, in their infinite wisdom (well...) knows that they can rerelease Plo Koon later in a ship based set or something. I think we can credit the non-cartoony nature to the fact that it's a sculpted head and not a print. What we have to hope is that they don't make Ki Adi Mundi for CW at all, or we'll probably never see a normal one. Reason? Regular head. On the other hand, we get that new apprentice girl who isn't Shaak Ti, because they know that the headpiece can be used later for a PT version of her. LEGO is finally catching on to the double duty policy I keep talking about. Let's hope they continue thinking this way and produce mostly new figures with sculpted heads instead of too many prints and we'll do well. Now Asijj actually has to appear cartoony. She doesn't exist in any other form. It's that or nothing. Oh, and *vader*, you keep hoping for 4-LOM and Bossk (what about poor Zuckuss?) and I'll keep hoping for Dr. Evazan and Ponda Baba and one Bith musician (from which the whole band could be made).

You know, both the underwater scenes and the Playmobile pic were Staudie's. The city was all Alex though. ;-)
