Not even when the giant duck crushed him? >:-)

Ok, it's nice, I'll admit. I was even thinking I'd pick up a couple until I saw the SRP... $29.99??? Who are they kidding? >:-(

It's important to remember that people base their prices on a number of factors, including the occasionally mistaken belief that their part is uncommon, simply because they never see them for sale locally. Either way, it's a good lesson in buying. Know what you're getting, what parts it includes, and be aware of other ways to get the same parts cheaper. Shakos are a prime example. Everyone complains about the price of them, but I've picked up more than I currently need just by hitting cheap eBay auctions for random figure assortments that happen to include some. I should say that I used to do that and that I'm not the least bit impressed with the stuff I'm seeing on eBay anymore. Oh well.

Very nice review, Lord of Pies! Thanks for taking the time to put this together, and especially for all the detailed pics. *y* I very much regret that my dark ages occured when they did. Basically, I missed out on all the cheap and easy troop building sets, and this one is certainly no exception. The big sets are nice, but these are the ones that always make me wish just a little harder for a return of LEGO pirates... :'-) I gave it a 4 out of 5, just because I'd buy 4 out of 5 sitting on the shelves today, were it possible.

I'm really surprised this one hasn't had more replies, I thought it was one of the better interviews. :-/

People suck. I'm betting the best you could get is the mutual removal, assuming they even do that... Odds are, you'll get to wear it as a badge of honour for taking the necessary steps to label a slow shipper as such. :-/

It's quite a nice display, but you can't really strike terror in the hearts of the masses without a mysterious, dark sidekick. May I suggest: (crappy pic, huh?) :-$ He was originally designated as a chicken, but since his beak is the same part as the one used in the mini-penguins from the Batcave, he could easily be Darth Penguin. If you're curious, the effect is achieved by using a normal black hood, but instead of slipping it on a head, you slide the beak and eyes (a pair of binoculars) through the neck and then attach the whole thing to the neck of the minifig. With a bit of effort, it will hold and you end up with a Dark Penguin of the Sith.

Was it slow because he mailed it late, or just because of the postal system? Check the postmark if it has one, it technically might not have been his fault. Either way, you may want to see if they have a mutual feedback removal process like eBay does. Both of you could clean up your accounts that way. It hardly seems worth the bad mark over this situation.

We have an "it's the internet, these things happen, go find something else to do for a while" section and no one told me??? ;-)

Absolutely love the first one, saw it over on Bricklink when you first posted it. I'll be curious to see how the stories develop. Keep up the good work! *y*

Great comic Hinckley! Lots of implied violence and happy times! :-D Not until you pointed it out. :-P

Welcome to another exciting episode of EB News Presents! I'm your host, imperialshadows, this is cub reporter Staudie, and I've heard that our special guest this week will be quite a treat since we're finally having a female member join us. I'm just glad to see that Staudie has finally gotten over his inability to talk to girls. WHAT? Now if only he'd do something about his hearing. *imperialshadows pauses as he listens to his earpiece* Oh, really? Haha, girly name. Well, it looks like I spoke too soon about that. I was kind of hoping we'd finally get a female perspective around here, but alas, our guest is Mr. Mandalorian, who just happens to get called Mandy Lori Ann. You can see my confusion... Mandy and I go way back, as some of you should already know. We held a very special contest once to honour Douglas Adams with our creations based on his incredible books. Darndest thing though, I can't remember what Mandy ended up making. ARE YOU EVER GOING TO LET ME LIVE THAT DOWN??? Oh good, there you are. What did you build, I can't remember? I DIDN'T! I meant to. I really did. I just... :'-( Uh huh. Better start the interview before everyone turns the channel to get away from Weepy McCan'tBuildaMocForTheContestHeCoSponsored over there. :-| I like this! Like what? You're picking on him more than me. Thanks for reminding me. What's up with your hair? Wha? My hair looks fine. Sure, if you've recently had mange. I-I-I-I... Stuttering. Sorry. Interview. :-| Q. Why the very unique sigfig, and Why the name Mr. Mandy "Lory" Anne, tis a girly name, is it not? X-D *Tank parks behind him and 3 bodyguards jump out* A. Well, I've had different modifications of the same 'fig for years. Don't ask why. It started out as an Arctic head with an Astronaut torso. Since then, it's looked like this: As for the name, I hoped you wouldn't ask. :'-( :-P Simple- when I joined BZP, all the names I could think of were taken, so, I picked "Mr. Mandalorian. :'-( Not very original, I know. Mandy Lori Ann! Ahahahahaha. *cough* Q. Stupid Question, what's your favourite theme? A. Guess. :-P I used to like Aquazone, but that was a bit before I could really start buying my own sets. Does he ever ask any other kind of question? Q. And favourite sets? Top 3. 1: 497 Galaxy Explorer. 2: 7119 Twin Pod Cloud Car 3: 6135 Neptune Discovery Lab I've never gotten any of these, though I do remember looking at them longingly on BL, my finger twitching over the "buy" button. :-D Q. Can we see pics of your lair? A. Sure. We start with the pic setup, convieniently located in the guest bedroom, on the guest bed... :-$ And not for the reasons you think. If you'll notice, there's a lot of boxes sitting around. Hopefully I'll get them up, rather than collecting dust on my computer. Then, we have a horrible pic of my lair. It's not so much a lair as my Little Slice O' Heaven. As you can see, it's undergoing major renovation. The Aquaraiders are located on the Foosball table, along with my parrot's perch, and there are shelves stacked up against the wall. Sets crowding the "bookcase" (All the books are childrens books, haven't been touched in years). They're all waiting to be shelved. It's everywhere... Now, the good stuff. My lego table. I'm busy color-coding everything, because everything that's not a set was built with whatever was around, way back when I was eight... Hopefully I'll build barracks, a jail complex, and a garage, some time or another. Aah, I love these shelves... As you seen in the corner, there are three more waiting to be put up. The... hangar, I suppose. I can't put things just on a shelf for display- It all has to look like It's doing something. The "Dock", also in need of upgrade. :-$ Then, the pirate ships in the corner, collecting dust, also in need of shelving. Hangar #2. I've recently started hanging things that have been collecting dust from fishing line. Here's Exo-force. I'm kind of proud of it. Then, there's a TIE fighter chasing Jango in the other corner. The Bionicle and Castle collection. So, that's it. When (or if), I'm done with my renovations, I'll have added three more shelves, the fronts of of boxes as posters, and hopefully more hanging stuff. It's gonna look reeeaaal nice. sweet* ...for a three hour tour, a three hour tour... What was that boss? Oh, nothing, just an old tv theme came to mind after the first hour of that answer... Oh. Haha. You don't even get the joke. I do too. Really? Explain it then. Well, see, um, we need to move along now, the show is running long! Close enough. Q. If you could design a custom set, what would it be? A. Mandalorian battle pack, duh. I only have a Jango and two Bobas... Not really an army, is it? Q. Tapez les danses tout en

According to Bricklink, it's still the usual: Trans-Green Trans-Light Blue Trans-Light Purple Trans-Neon Orange Trans-Orange Trans-Purple I did wonder about how yellow those looked, but maybe they're just orange and it's an optical illusion caused by the gold cones they're stuck in. Or, maybe we're getting a new colour soon and no one knows about it. I wouldn't mind a new colour ...

Am I seeing this correctly and safe to assume that the new dark brown is more like what dark brown would have been had they not gone to frown, and therefore devoid of most of it's reddish quality? Why are there 3 shades of grey in the pic as well? Am I just being lame and not paying attention? Will we ever find out who killed the mayor??? THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE! *wacko* I'd like to think that, but Nintendo was the first company to specifically warn people about epileptic seizures as a result of playing games, putting it in every booklet and eventually in the opening of most of their games. They were also the first sued for it, after already including the warnings. Go figure. At least that's how I heard the story (that's code for "I'm too lazy to confirm this, so someone go and prove me wrong and I'll say 'oops' and inside know that I saved myself all that research time anyway"). Oh, and sorry I came upon this review so long after the fact, but it's very well done and the suggestions for improving the set should be much better than that shooting nonsense they keep sticking us with. Thanks to Hinckley for the review, and *yoda* for the fix!

I don't know what they intend to do with it, but I'll be using that bottom right-most piece as one of these for my Nazi enemy troops in Indy displays. That lime green slotted-slope-plate-grill-looking-thing, or SSPGLT for short *wacko* would be nice as ... er ... well, it'll greeble nicely in a better colour, like dark bley. Here's a little better shot of it: Oh, and are these slightly new doors or have I just not noticed them before?
-
Not impressed with it as a $1000 item, but it isn't a terrible display. I've always wanted to build a series of custom minifig display vigs, and either side of this would work well for that. I would beef them up a bit though, they're awfully simple designs. Overpaying for Hype Off *n*

Grew up on classic space and castle in old grey. Came out of my dark ages and they were still there, but with a lot more dark grey, no problem there. The transition was a bit of a shock at first, but honestly, life is far too short to hate a colour change, and I can't work up the annoyance I once had about it. Basically, each of the grey shades has a purpose, and I'll use them accordingly. If someone hates their old grey or bley, maybe they just need to try using it differently. Now brown/reddish-brown, that's a whole different story. >:-( :-| :-D

You've done it again, another brilliant comic. Those MOCs you criticize are absolutely perfect for the Star Wars universe. They give it the feeling of being worn and used, just like the original trilogy. It was only in the prequels that Lucas lost that vision and overdid it with CGI. Add your fog/smoke and lighting effects and you get that eerie feeling that Star Wars hasn't had since the swamps of Dagobah or Jabba's Palace. *sweet* You're doing a great job, I hope to see a lot more of this! *y*

Very effective and well suited to the theme. Looks great! Definitely a winner there. Anyone that can make something worthwhile out of the crapship gets a *y* in my book!

Welcome to EB! Be sure to check out the Big Billboard o' Doom

Or at least an all civilian set. A few new suits, some new female torsos and heads, all of the varieties of hair, a few new colours of short legs for kids, couple of dogs, a stroller, some bikes, Indy's man-bag, food, crates, some small assemblies like a park bench or mailbox. That would be a dream come true in a city minifig set. *sweet*
-
Best year: 08 for it's original trilogy goodness! *y* Best set: Rebel Speeder. Great new minifigs and a nifty little speeder. Can't beat that combo. *y* I hope the future holds up to these standards. '09 ... Hoth or Endor BPs On! *y*

Sinner and I are clearly of the same mind here. ;-) Curvalicious Elfgirls On! *y*

Happy Birthday! You don't look a day over 60! :-D I hear that kicking Hinckley's megablocks keeps one looking young. Something to consider. ;-)
