Wow, I wasn't expecting you to go back and put all that effort in. :-$ You've taken great work and amped it up another notch. Thanks! *sweet*

Tonight, Mister Phes is gonna party like it's 1699. X-D I must admit, I'm in the same group. :-$ -
VOTE OFF for the Pimp your IMTP ship contest

I still want flintlock pistols at 20 paces! >:-) I will have to seriously consider this next vote. -
You have a point there. *the hairdresser rushes in to adjust Staudie's hair* No no, more to the left. *the hairdresser adjusts some more, finally covering up those horns* There we go. Speaking of scratched paint, that doctor never did pay for the damage to my limo. >:-(

I like that version a lot more. I've sat for many hours in front of one of those, long ago. One thing to consider though. Could you save these in .png instead of .jpg? The size difference isn't that much and it'll prevent the kind of compression damage that can occur to a small image saved as a .jpg (those stray bits of off colour, etc). Oh, and just in general, you've been doing some great work here in the MCW. Thanks! *y*

That's *not* a wig. X-D And why is it that I'm always the drunk one? I don't even drink! I'm just naturally this way. |-/ I still regret letting you wash my cape. >:-(

I don't care what the critics say, she's *wub* So *wub* that I didn't even notice how unshiny her lovely body is. ;-) *smacks Staudie with a lamp post* As for not being elfish, I'll tell you what... send her to me and I'll be s elfish enough for both of us. :-P I really do like her. *y*

I agree completely. I like a hero who could possibly be just as psychotic as the villians he fights. Someone who has been there and back. I think that makes it a lot more real, and adds that constant struggle to the mix. It's why I never could stand Superman. That and the tights. :-D

Cool find Batbrick, thanks for sharing it. *y* I think this offers a lot of promise. Are you saying that we like our Batman the way we like our Lords: Dark? ;-)

Did they mention that you could eat the cookie, but not the lead paint chips? |-/ I think we already know the answer to that one... :-P

Now there's what I'm talking about. I do exactly the same thing, to the point that I'm building minifig cross-reference lists for rebuilding those previously mixed up figures. Right now, I'm converting the whole thing into a useful minifig reference for www.Classic-Pirates.com and will eventually do the same for all the other themes. Only difference is that I love those crazy mixed up auctions from the bay of evil. I like to get one in, sit down with all of my cases of minifig parts (sorted by theme) and restore all those poor little souls back to their original glory. It's like an act of mercy. :-) Now, to be fair, I will make the occasional custom out of spare parts, but if I intend to buy a figure for that purpose, I will only do it if I have an original as well, that will stay in it's proper form. Usually I'll buy two of any figure I get from Bricklink, just in case I want to do that. More often than not, they stay in exactly their original configuration. :-/ Yes, yes it is. Embrace it. Just because it's obsessive, and compulsive, and some moron calls it a disorder, doesn't meant it's wrong. *wacko* OCD ON! *y*

It's pretty good on it's own merits, but as you said, it's different from it's inspiration. It reminds me a bit of the speeder in the new Rebel battlepack, at least in the way the gun sits on a solid base at the back. That isn't a bad thing, mind you, I love that speeder, but I'm not sure it works as well in this situation. I think it's a bit heavy for a buggy that is intended for quick hits or patrol work. Yes! That's what it is. It either needs more armour to make it a heavier assault vehicle, or lightening up for speed. I won't even get into the physics of such different front and back tires. Thanks for sharing it, though. Sorry I'm not more positive on this one. I love most of your work, I'm just not sold here.

Excellent job, one and all! The commercial vehicles are all very convincing, but I am always especially fond of vintage vehicles and this one is certainly no exception. *sweet* 6-Wide On! *y*

Maybe instead of that, you could share what things you'd like us to see from your site and participate in the community here?

Added to the customization index. Barbossa: Does toothpaste scratch? Is one kind better than another, like baking soda type, etc?

Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Lost Skulls
Shadows replied to DoubleT's topic in Culture & Multimedia
He is really old, but occasionally a shot will look pretty darn good. I think they'll make it through in that regard, especially since they're definitely setting this up for a "Son of Indy" series in the future. As for Lucas... He says that The Empire Strikes Back was the worst movie in the series and that it only sold well because of the guy he hired to promote it. Right, we were all duped by the advertising, George, it really stunk. No wonder we didn't like the prequels as much, we're idiots. :-| He's a marketing genius, but as a moviemaker he got lucky. Very lucky. I'm trying to have faith that Spielberg is in control on this one and will keep things in line. -
Is it wrong that I can't read the subtitle of this thread without chuckling a little every time? ;-) Oh, and I still think that all the entries are great! Thanks to everyone who participated! *y*

*flutters eyes* :-$ I've heard that, but I don't like to start rumours unless they're about me... erm. 8-| Yes, I do believe that you pioneered that. I might have even mentioned once that I took the entire idea of my billboard from your spamtastic beautiful sigs. *sweet*
-
I'm currently not magical enough to see that. :'-( Couldn't one use their sig space to post their recent mocs and links to others, within reason? I mean, it isn't like you could shove a whole billboard down there, but a tasteful display of one's efforts wouldn't be bad at all. ;-)

Theoretically, the point of this set is to revisit the 1958 Town Plan 'theme' (if you could call it that), which included this: Not half bad for the pre-minifig scale days, really.

Simple and effective. The Black Falcons are one of my early favourite factions, so it's nice to see them brought back to life. *y* Only thing I'd change is to add spears at the back of the wagon in the ladder clips. Positioned properly, I think they would look nice and give it a more naturally finished look. Alternately, I'd try a spear on one side and a lance on the other with a flag/banner. I'm not as sure how that would look. Black Falcons On! *y*

You've managed to make some excellent suggestions for additional characters and vehicles and ultimately that's all we're likely to get. I love the idea of some buildings, but just don't see it happening. Play oriented = vehicles = swoosh. It's just the way it is. I can deal with that. The modular building line covers plenty of Gotham potential (there's a suggest, make a modular building that looks like it belongs in Batman, but don't license it). That said, I will make a single point that I feel can't be left out, and it's directed at whichever LEGO representative reads this thread (and trust me, they do). Commissioner Gordon obviously requires a trenchcoat, and I'm sure that there has been some hesitation to take that step. Do it. Here's why. We all know that eventually you'll make an Endor assault set in the SW line, and when you do, Han needs his trenchcoat. The entire rest of his figure will be stock parts. It's a simple double-duty situation, and one that you can even take a step further. New Agents line, second wave: Boss or villian in trenchcoat and fedora (also giving it a nice double-duty use). To even sweeten it up a bit, if it's designed right, you could make it in yellow and have it double as a raincoat for a future Coast Guard or port set. Lots of uses out of one part. I'd kiss whichever designer managed to get LEGO to make a 40's style detective agency over some other business in the modular line. Seriously. Sam Spade it up. *wub* Now, the part I hate to suggest. Put Gordon in an expensive set to guarantee yourselves the most justification for it. Give him Indy's hat in bley or tan to match the trenchcoat, and watch it sell. Guaranteed. You've made a brilliant move with Harley and the castle jester hat, do the same here.

I split it in half with my teeth and in one motion of my tongue, I pull in the part I removed and eat it, then scrape off the filling with my teeth and eat the other half. Mind you, I do all of that without ever touching the cookie again. Analyze that one. >:-)

I wouldn't blame EB or the net for it, but my building time is very low. A lot of that has to do with time spent organizing and the somewhat overwhelming feeling of hopelessness that brings. 8-| Whenever I buy a new set, I open it, assemble the minifigs to make sure they're all present, look through the parts for anything unique or special, then ziplock the whole lot and box it back up until I'm ready to deal with it permanently. I put the minifigs in tiny little bags of their own. I have piles of sets in that condition. On occasion, a set will be so great that I want to keep it out, and I'll break down an existing one to make space, or move things a little closer together. Needless to say, space is a big issue for me, more than time. I do spend a lot of time here though, and I enjoy it far too much to give any of it up. Since I can't be as creative with my building in this situation, I have been channeling my creativity into writing things for the site or working on projects (mostly EB News and Pirates projects), plus posting of course.

Next you'll be editing titles in the customization forum to make them "more clear." :-| X-D (don't kid yourself, I'd be doing the all-capital ones as well) Clear and Polite Communication On! *y*
