As requested by BlueBard in the Pirates forum, here. They're both 600dpi. The first is the dark grey colour from the original figure, the second one is left completely white so that it can be used with other colour torsos. I may play with this basic design and make a few variations later (no belly, straighter jacket, etc). Simply print and trim as necessary.

You should really visit the Minifig Customisation Workshop and post in the requests thread located here. EDIT: Between the time I posted and now, I went ahead and made it. Check my thread here.

Fabuland is a state of mind. The line does contain some interesting parts we've never seen elsewhere, but to really get it, you need to catch up here. *y*

WARNING! SPOILERS! Funny thing is, I'm still not going to include any spoilers. :-P What I will say is that you've done an amazing job with timing, both comic timing and the pace at which the series progresses. I can manage comic timing, but pacing this story out across so many episodes, and within each episode individually is an amazing feat. Perhaps you would consider a special feature at the end of the series, a 'making of' season 1 commentary discussing the creative process? I'd have you on EB News to discuss it... ;-) Now, specific to this episode. Yay for secrets revealed, finally! It's a minor point, but I really like the way you achieve the hole in the park (I've liked that effect since the first shots of the very first episode) and how it's going to be creatively reused within the plot. A fun little twist. Doctor Candace: Hi, I

Pirate/Colonial Torso: Brown Vest with Ascot
Shadows replied to Shadows's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
He's one of only 2 pirates minifigs I don't have yet, so I feel your pain. :'-( I'm not a decal person either, but I'm going to convince myself to try one of these soon, maybe for my sigfig. -
Pirate/Colonial Torso: Brown Vest with Ascot
Shadows replied to Shadows's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
EDIT: Updated to include all varieties to match the fronts. Thanks guys, I'm glad you like them! Following the idea that these are vests, I'm adding a new pattern for the back of the torso, giving it the full effect. -
Yay Hinckley! Congrats! *y* That's just scary. I thought the skid approach was the weakest way to go, but I couldn't figure out anything else to do with those plates. *wacko* Thanks for a fun contest! *y*

As one of those 7 loyal fans, and 1 of the 2 to ask about it recently, I'm thrilled to see the further adventures of everyone's favourite dysfunctional town and the deeply disturbed inhabitants who call it home. *sweet* I absolutely refuse to spoil anything, so I'll just say, "It's great, I'd give it *y* *y* *y* *y* *y*" --imperialshadows, EB News Presents So, when's the next one? :-P

Shhhh... don't remind him! :-| Actually, the phone at the end was briefly going to be one, and for some reason the girl scout comment stuck more and then I revealed Staudie's ... well, I'm not sure what was revealed, but I sure didn't want to see it. :-X Thanks for being such a loyal follower of the show! *y*

EDIT: Updated for better quality, download them again if you like them. This time I took a somewhat uncommon but incredibly useful torso and sketched it in, then played with the colour possibilities a bit. I'm still uncertain of the best way to deal with the gold buckle/button look, but at this point LEGO wasn't using metallic printing, so even the original appears pretty flat. I've noticed that a lot of LEGO torso patterns vary a lot from one example to another, with identical looking patterns appearing very different when viewed closely. It's surprising sometimes. This was one of those. As always, they're done in 600dpi and in such a way that colour replacements of your own would be simple select and fill jobs. Think pirates, noblemen, colonials, revolutionaries and any number of 15th-18th century possibilities. I feel like there should be some other useful variations possible here, perhaps without the strap or a coloured shirt. Suggestions welcome! Comments and criticism, even cruel and critical ones, welcome as well. ;-)

I'll confess, much like *yoda*, TPM is my fav of the prequel trilogy. I never expected that to be the case, but they screwed up 2 and 3 so much that it just happened. That said, I don't want a bunch of slightly improved reissues. If they can't give me at least one new minifig per set, don't bother making prequel sets at all. Bad enough that all the old ones are yellow and the new would be flesh, but without something really new, it's a waste for me, there is still too much left to be made.

My girlfriend says that I'm a supernatural experience. X-D Ok, ok, on topic. I can read people. Just a quick glance and I know what kind of person they are, honest, dishonest, dangerous, etc, without any of the usual visual clues that people rely on. If you filled a room with people dressed identically, all trying to act nice, I could find the criminal. I also get feelings before things happen, and have used that to avoid being robbed or involved in a deadly accident, for example. I'll tell the accident story. When I was a kid, we were sitting at a traffic light behind 4 cars and next to a line of 5 cars, the last one sitting directly next to us. My parents were in the front, I was in the back. About 20 seconds before the light changed, I had a feeling. I yelled out "BACK UP!" and fortunately they did, about a cars length. Three seconds later a car that had been zooming up behind us changed lanes and plowed into the car next to us, throwing it forward and left, into our lane. Turns out that the guy who caused the accident had left a club, drunk and on drugs. He was speeding toward us directly when he saw the backup lights and in his drunken haze, he thought a car was coming directly at him, so he changed lanes and slammed his brakes. If he hadn't, we would have probably been killed. My moment of foreknowledge didn't do the guy next to us any good, as he ended up rear-ended, but at least the idiot was slowing down before he hit him. Technically, if we had been hit, we could have gone sideways into him, which would have meant a driver's side impact and could have killed him, especially at the much higher speed it would have been at. We never commented on the backing up, it might have been hard to explain. There were never any questions asked when I made strange requests like that. Supernatural enough?

Those are sooooooo close! Actually, there are only 2 points left to make (haha, get it, 2 points... don't look at me like that Hinckley, I'm not explaining it, it's for everyone else! :-P ). 1. Why the shadow on top of the boobies? Bottom half? Yes. Clearly indicates a place where an overhead lightsource would be shadowed. Top half? No. Light can freely hit the top of the boobies. 2. I didn't have a second point. Refer back to the 2 points joke. ;-) So, thank you for starting this project. I've never had quite so much fun with boobies without real ones being involved before. *y*

Don't mess with my bionicle parts yoda!
Shadows replied to snefroe's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
I missed this one the first time too, and I've :-D and :-D'ed at it. Plus it brings a whole new dynamic to the site. I didn't even have a clue that *yoda* and Sne were close enough to be sharing parts bags. Next thing you know, they'll be moving in together and planning a future. It's so romantic! June Weddings On! :'-) *y* -
This crossposting between threads is tiring. *sad* That's where we lost you, despite your clarification that you didn't mean a six pack, it still seemed more directed at the middle of the region, as opposed to the sides. So now when you say: You're finally making sense! *y* That's why I said curvalicious and not "does pilates 3 times a week." This is beginning to feel like some sort of farce version of The Bride of Frankenstein. "MMMMM, breasts good, abs baaaaad" :-P
-
It's like the boobs leading the boob here. :-P Ok, try these examples. The first is for proper outline and darkening aspect, the second relates to the illusion of curvature on the surface detail, as in the way the studs aren't perfectly lined up, they're sitting on a rounded plain, ie, the boobage. *sweet* Helpful? EDITED: EUREKA! I see part of the problem now. You are treating these women like men and I know how to set you straight! Er... :-$ Skip that and read on. ;-) You haven't given them a girly waist like the above samples, so their breasts don't have any actual open space under them to provide part of the illusion of depth and shape! The right one is the better example of that, but even digging out your basic Pirate wench minifig should show you some of what I mean about the waist. That's the problem! I knew if I stared at them long enough, I'd figure it out. Please feel free to present any such breast related problems to me in the future, I'm always happy to try to grope grasp understand them!

Welcome to Wheel of Fortune! I'm your host, Pat Sajak and this is my lovely letter turner, Vanna White. Vanna White? Um, could someone change the teleprompter before Staudie comes out in a dress. Again. Ok, let's try this from the start. Welcome to another blah blah, you know the routine. I'm imperialshadows, he's Stauder. We're here to torment another guest while those of you at home try to guess how long before one of them goes postal and ends up at the top of a clock tower with a sniper rifle. Tonight's very special victim is Chuck. CHUCK NORRIS??? What do you think? :-| I don't... We've noticed. *Chuck enters the studio and sits down* So, what's up, Chuck? Vomit? Just a little, maybe you should have showered before the show. Sorry Boss, I had a big day. Really? Tell me all about it. Ok. Well, first I got up and had breakfast, brushed my teeth and got dressed, then I ... *whacks Staudie with a stick* Interview. :-| Sorry. Every day I show up for work. Huh? Just start the interview. |-/ Q. What is your Sigfig? Why the Change of Name? Are you a relative of Mr. Norris? :-P A. Here is my sigfig, which up until recently, was relatively unknown here :-P The name change was based upon my decision in early 2007 to change all my online assets from "Lego2000", to "Chuck". Why you ask? "The Chuck", as my various criminal underworld associates refer to me as, has no rhyme or reason for his various crimes against humanity and name changes X-D Yes, we are very close 51st cousins. I'd like Staudie to meet Chuck Norris one of these days. Just his mere presence should insure an immediate beatdown that would make the best whacker envious. Q. You are a great builder, how do you come up with ideas for such rediculusly ingenious things? I liked the dingies alot X-D A. First of all, thank you for the compliment! As you and many more observant people may notice, I don't aim to build big, and I have trouble doing so due to the commitment. I would say my largest MOC is the Iron Reich Checkpoint diorama, which I am particularly proud of. Anyways, many techniques I discover due to my affinity for building small while still maintaning the aspect of fitting a fig inside. Others, like my rollcage design (Chuckcage), encorporates minifig hands in the holes of a technic 3L pin, or my more famous containers (Chucktainer), which I designed after noticing that there wre not a lot of designs out there for an easy to make container for Space MOCs. Sorry for the long answer X-D Q. What would you say got you into lego? A. I would have to say my older brother, (we are 4 years apart, and he is in college right now). He doesn't build anymore, so that is where I got the bulk of my collection. I remember always playing with his "Fort Legorado" and him running me out of the room! Q. Best IRL lego Moment? A. Either the joy of finding Dwarves Mine in a Target, Brickfest 2006, and going over to a TFOL friend's house. Q. And your best EB Moment? A. Probably my one month stint as MOC regulator X-D As I believe one of the admins said about it, "that month was the longest year of my life." ;-) Q. What is your favourite set? A. Oh, thats a toughy! It might have to either go to Fort Legorado or Cafe Corner! Couple of good ones there. *y* Q. What do you think of the way Lego is going? A. It has picked itself up, I think. From what we've seen here, they are definately going the right direction at this point. Unlike Staudie when he's out in the tank. Q. What do you think of <insert that tiresome argument> pieces? I think you dont like them as you seem to use small peices mostly. A. It all depends on the piece. i.e., while some of the Bionicle sets are getting to be <insert that tiresome argument> by the lack of intricate functions in the canister sets, I still buy them. (Thats right, I'm a Bionicle fan; I had the whole original lineup, Mctoran included!). I either love to hate them or love to love them! Sometimes I think of Staudie as a <insert that tiresome argument> piece. Q. Am I annoying? A. Let me be honest with you Staudie: When I first saw this whole interview idea, "I was like: theres a n00b in our forums, interviewing our d00dz!". But I don't think that anymore, and I must say I've grown on them. In adendum: Nope! That must have been before I started hosting the show, or as I like to refer to it, "the dark times." Q. Who should we interview? A. I'm gonna go ahead and give a shout out to my buddy oo7 here and say you should interview him! Or maybe TT, if he hasn't been done! So there you have it folks, it looks like another victim has made it through the gauntlet of questions put forth by dungeon master Staudie. Oh, who am I kidding, a girl scout could make it through those questions. *phone rings* Oh for heavens sake. *picks up the phone* Yes? Oh, really? That was the girl scouts, they say you owe them $47.50 for uniform rental. WHAT? I don't know what you're talking about. They said they'll sue if you don't cough it up. Bu-bu-bu-bu... *runs out of the room screaming* Looks like all of you home contestants who picked tonight for the first crackup would have won, but sadly you were betting on the guest, not the reporter. Nice try though. Better luck next week! I know I keep hoping for better luck next week, then Staudie shows up and spoils everything. :-P Until then, I'm imperialshadows, and you only wish you were! *camera fades*

3 is the closest. I have a good sample pic I could show you, but it isn't hosted anywhere... :-/
-
They're definitely more defined, but still flat. Part of the problem is that the pattern is straight, as if there is nothing underneath to make it curve or bulge. Beyond that, you need some very light gradient shading along the outside bottom of each one, extending up about 50% of the way to the, uh, nipples, to signify the underside curve. Still, they're half-way there. *y*

Help choose a Lego Star Wars 10th annaversiry set (2009) Part 2 - Voti
Shadows replied to Legoman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Original Trilogy, Endor. Now I'll say this. My heart screams Tantive IV, but they won't do it sufficiently, and at this point we have every necessary minifig to do it ourselves except for Captain Antilles. We'll never get a Captain Antilles anyway... LEGO isn't about to say, "oh look, you can lift him by the neck and throw his shattered lifeless shell into the corner of the room when Vader doesn't get what he wants!" Then a little picture showing someone throwing him at their eye with an X over it. Not happening. Most iconic anniversary set possible, but they won't do it. >:-( SO! Endor. It's iconic enough. You can always recreate the victory party marking the end of the whole series, and it gives us what we really need, minifigs! *sweet* Luke (new hat), Leia (same hat), Han (using that trenchcoat I keep telling them to make for Comm. Gordon), Rebel Troopers (3rd use of that hat, thus making the part worthwhile), reddish brown, dark tan, or even bley Ewoks. Throw in a couple, they're small. *wub* Want to impress me to death? Anakin, Obi-Wan, Yoda spirits. 8- -
EEEK 321: Emergency Enviromental Entry Kraft (sic) 321? When you need to make a hasty departure, think EEEK!

That would be solid metallic gold, same as ... his hair? WTH is that about? The thing that sticks out about him, to me, is the face. If that eyepatch is normal and not some kind of mechanical looking thing, he's a dead perfect future pirate minifig that I'll be buying up on Bricklink. Add the lovely new alligators, ie the old one with extra printing, the slightly bizarre but tolerable sharks (once you take the friggin' lasers off their heads) and I have to hope that this be a hint of things to come. *sweet* Some of those sets are pure crap, but I sort of like the speedboat and most of what is there would cross-over well into Batman. I hate to say it, but I may end up buying most of this line. :-|

It's an absolutely crazy concept, but I like it! *wacko* *y* Nice job with the horse drawn side-cart and especially the way his legs stick through, very creative! Have you considered converting any of the other sets, or perhaps something from another theme in a similar way?
