  1. Aaaaaahhhh! Talking corpse! It's witchcraft! :pir-skull:
  2. Great job! So great, in fact, that I felt compelled to insert thumbnails and link to those instead, hope you don't mind.
  3. I still think that killing the Inquisitor is a questionable strategy at this stage, but I too am tired of the confusion he seems to be causing. I also think that since a majority vote was reached during the day, it should probably be upheld, though that isn't my decision. I will say this in advance. I will not voluntarily be the one who declares his alignment if he is killed. I do not have any honest means of determining that, any more than I can rule upon his sanity. If someone chooses to put those words in my mouth, they may be a lie or intentionally misleading and I would not appreciate being the next to die because of someone elses actions. That would be an unfair and unbalanced abuse of power. If I'm going to die, let me botch it up myself. Fair enough? I say that we make a point of not judging whoever gets stuck in that position, assuming it happens. I sincerely hope that any future deaths come with more traditional evidence: a diary, a letter, a collection of KISS albums in their bookcase, a collection of Celine Dion albums in their bookcase, the phrase "Satan Rocks!" tattooed somewhere on the person. Simple things like that can say a lot more than words.
  4. Is that a new scimitar in the market, Mustafa? It looks like the old one that we never tracked down. Let's see... 3 shoppers, 3 going to the church (who I never see), nobles and maid going home, nobody going to the bakery. Seriously, it feels so ... deja vu. I don't see anything particularly telling in there, unless we assume that the first shoppers really were witches and kill these too. That seems a bit questionable to me.
  5. A very nicely presented tutorial on an interesting subject. Good job! It has been added to the Tutorial's Index, pinned at the top of this forum.
  6. What a useless day... We're given more clues and we will execute someone unrelated. And that is the trick here, isn't it? Since day 1, we've been given meaningless clues designed to send us off in the wrong direction. Almost every one of us has had something aimed in our direction, something that ultimately doesn't mean anything. Mustafa spent days being attacked over the items that appeared in his shop, items that were clearly designed to make us suspicious. People have gone shopping, shown up late or not attended church. Joan and I are bloody and I don't have any idea why since we each know where the other one was all night. It's been one 'clue' after another, one accusation after another. Add to that the fact that we can't even count on the most basic rule of mafia games, the honesty of the moderator in declaring the alignment of the dead, and what do you have? Deception. This whole game has been a trick, but who is perpetrating it? Well, if it's the Inquisitor, we'll be rid of his influence tomorrow, but I don't think it is, as convenient as that would be. No, I think it's more important to look at all of these misleading clues and see who HASN'T ever been accused. Surely, the person responsible would do everything they could to avoid looking suspicious, and in doing so, they eventually expose themselves as the only person who has never been accused. What if there are only one or two witches with the power to deceive, confuse, mislead. Nothing fancy, no killing, no converting, just confuse. Admit it, there hasn't been much happening in town, it's as if the witches aren't doing anything but dying day after day. The only thing there has been is confusion and lots of it. I have reviewed the days and have a name in mind. Why don't all of you take a moment to look back and see if you can figure it out?
  7. WAIT! Damn these weary eyes, how did I miss that Miguel was declared evil now, too? So, if Miguel was the one tortured, why is Joan bloody? Dammit, Inquisitor, you have to know by now that you're sick, why do you keep announcing these crazed accusations? All you've done is sealed your own doom... May God have mercy upon your confused soul.
  8. A clue in the pictures? Is it a REAL clue or just another joke? I'm getting impatient with this situation now and as I said, I will not vote until we hear the truth from our host. Still, I can review the information at hand. Let's see here... the death of Charles is too dark to see anything much in, though it is so many frames that one must wonder why. I went one by one though and see nothing except a black figure following him with a musket and then the sun comes up over the town. Oh, and Charles looks sort of tipsy, but that's not anything new. The new arrival. I do find it funny that so many welcome him with open arms after so much suspicion of the Inquisitor, but whatever the case, I see nothing odd in his images, though I'm not sure I can identify all of the things he carries on his horse. Perhaps someone else would take a look, if you can tear yourselves away from lusting for the Inquisitor's blood for a moment. The discovery of Charles. Well, we're all there. Philip is looking at Joan's, uh, dress, in the back. My, you're a tall drink of water, my dear, and you have a lovely pair of ... hey, wait a minute! Why is your dress bloody? Right there, under your left, um, er, you know... *points* So... while I know I kept you from being turned to evil last night, I have no way to know if you had been previously, and now that you're bloody, why don't you tell us what happened? Did you murder Charles and end up covered in his blood, or were you the latest investigation of the Inquisitor? I don't like the way this game ... of life ... is going. I will add this. I have sent a potato message to Tiny Pius on the subject of the Inquisitor and the things he says in his death summary and was told that he does not control them. If the Inquisitor is lying, it's because Tiny Pius is putting those lies upon his lips. I don't sincerely believe he is guilty of heresy or witchcraft, and I will not vote to that end, but I also will not vote in opposition. As I said, I will not vote at all until we get the truth, the same truth that anyone in any mafia based game ... of life ... would receive. I don't know why the rest of you are so willing to be abused by deception, but I am not a fool nor will I be taken for one. To be blunt... unless this whole thing is a ruse, the Inquisitor's death will show that he is Godly and you will all regret the decision to kill him (except the witches, of course). I would like to think that at that point you will see that your other conclusions are incorrect and my own life will not be threatened in the same manner. I don't have a lot of faith in that regard, I think the madness/heresy/deception is too great at this point. I do think it's hilarious that Joan would vote for me after I guarded her. Let's look at that logically for a moment. I guard her yet she thinks I'm a witch. Well, if I am, I just turned her into one, since my night action deals with the souls of those I guard. So if I'm a witch, she must be one now as well. Shall we test this theory next and kill her?
  9. The only way you could consider yourself to be a good sport by not commenting is if you know that we're being deceived by Tiny Pius and are allowing it. As I have already touched on the possibility that there are no actual witches/heretics and was laughed at for it, this could be quite a telling lack of comment on your part. If that's the case, he sucks. If it isn't... well, you know.
  10. Well... that is quite a weird turn. I spent the night protecting Joan, as I am sure she will confirm, so I know that she didn't kill Charles in a fit of rage after his sub-par love-making, and it turns out that he was a witch, just as it seemed. I don't really like the way the Inquisitor hesitated to explain how he knew, but I'm still trusting that a game moderator wouldn't go against mafia game standards and trick us. So... Charles the witch is dead, and a new member joins the town. That's odd timing. Welcome to Azufre, Roberto. I am the priest, Alexander, and I hope you will be attending our humble but Holy Church. It seems you wish to help us with this problem. How do you propose to do that?
  11. One of everything including the pirate building set. Between 3 and 10 of the $10 and under sets for army building, with extra attention to Cannon Battle since it's such a bargain and those new coloured cannons are That said, if this line does poorly, or some store decides to clearance any of the sets out, I'd take them without hesitation. Hopefully, we'll see a Caribbean Clipper quality ship for the Imperials in the summer 2009 wave, assuming there is one.
  12. Right! Updated! Knew I should have kept a list...
  13. Nice review of a set I didn't even realise existed! Now I'll have to keep an eye open for it at a good price. I wouldn't even begin to have room for this, but at least I now know that it would be worthwhile at the right deal, thanks for all the detailed pics! If I had to guess, it's one of these possibilities: Hey Bob, how are we going to make that side look less like a big slab? I KNOW! I can't remember, were we building a tug boat? Hmmm... it's a big boat but it needs more nautical flair! I KNOW! It's my last day on the job and I've always wanted an excuse to put toilet seats on a set! Well, it could be one of those.
  14. The ranks have been updated to include recent additions and define certain non-rank positions like the Reviewer's Academy Instructors as well as to clarify the difference (or lack thereof) between global and theme positions. As always, it is a work in progress and may change at any given moment as needed.
  15. Let's see, between you and me I had ... Witch E. McWitch Face I couldn't bear to take out the funny part, so I changed it to ... Trying to Kill Witch E. McWitch Face Charles who promptly changed it to ... Demon Seed and then bounced around a lot ... Charles is a Poopyhead Done Playing, Charles? Plays With Himself and finally (maybe!) ... MMM, Azufre: It Smells Like Witch BBQ We were being quite mature. No no, I should use Hinck's very most favourite emoticon in the world (you should too, any chance you get) ... I'm sure, but only witches do that. :pir-skull: Servants of the Lord, like me, find other ways to brand the beast. Updated to include the ones I forgot!
  16. It might be me, in this case. I know I remember you either saying it or saying something that I looked up and found where it was possible. This has been the chattiest game in the shortest time that I've ever seen, it's like wading through an entire book. I couldn't find what you said that triggered it, but basically the idea was that the paranoid cop could eventually regain his sanity, at which point he would either do correct investigations or be unable to use the ability anymore. I figure if we let the Inquisitor keep trying, he'll probably stop getting results, or he could check someone again and get a different result and we would know that the second one was correct. Either way, he isn't a danger as long as we don't convict solely based on his word, so I can't understand why anyone would consider killing him. I'd kill the torturer first, just in case he's somehow accidentally (or intentionally) turning them bad, and even that is a stretch. Now, I'm going to bed before someone changes my title again. This game ... of life ... is officially on hold for me until we receive word from our host confirming that those who are burning in hell, truly are, as would be the case in any normal game (damn Charles for even bringing up this red herring and causing so much useless chat).
  17. And yet what Root Admin keeps changing my title to try to make me look like I'm bad? Oh, he's changing Norrington's as well. Mature. I suppose you'll start attacking Mustafa now that he has made it clear he agrees with my position in this matter? We have killed 4 witches. Mourn them if you must, but give up trying to claim they're innocent. Stupid witch.
  18. Yet that is exactly what we are discussing because Charles claims we haven't, and now he has others doubting it as well. Just wait, he'll tell you this himself shortly, it's the only chance he has to fool us and he's doing all he can to use it. He'll eventually attack you for it, just as he has attacked me. Actually, it can, you've just forgotten. One of your own quotes showed where a paranoid cop role could eventually regain his sanity as the game progressed. Exactly, and there is no use in voting off someone who is innocent, even if he is crazy.
  19. He may be paranoid, we can't be sure, but as Mustafa has said, we only killed one witch based on his investigations, Bernard, and he flat out confessed in the other thread. Therefore, we know we haven't made any mistakes based on his efforts. See how easy it is if you just look at the facts we do know? That's why I want this issue cleared up as it relates to those who are burning in hell. It is currently being abused by Charles to try to turn the good citizens against each other, and I refuse to be turned. I will repeat until everyone understands. THERE HAS BEEN NO OTHER GAME IN MAFIA HISTORY WHERE THE MODERATOR LIED ABOUT THE ALIGNMENT OF THE LYNCHED PLAYERS. There is no reason to believe that is happening here.
  20. No, you don't need to watch, you already know who is who. It's the good citizens who are being harmed by this lack of clarity in the rules, so you would have no reason to be bothered by it. His answer isn't what you represent it as. He assumes we know he's telling the truth about the witches but you've twisted what he's said so much that it's leaving the good citizens confused. Aw, you're showing your witchy side, aren't you? You were so quick to defend Hernan, who we know was turned to a witch, yet you condemn his father, who raised a good man who was sadly led astray. Why do you keep ending up on the side of the witches? It's not a theory, it's just your attempt to confuse the good citizens. No game ... of life ... in history has ever gone that way and neither is this one, but you need them to believe it or you'll end up exposed as the Inquisitor regains his sanity and can make accurate investigations. Not a single one of the witches has come back to deny having been one, and two have admitted it publicly. Witches are dying and it's killing Charles inside. And if you do, be prepared to vote for Charles on day 7, as he'll be revealed for what he has become. Before that, ask yourself why he's so set on killing the Inquisitor, who has harmed no one and led us to some of the witches.
  21. Then I look forward to your support in this quest for knowledge, because without it, the good citizens have no chance of success. Imagine if the mythical town of Moonlight hadn't been told, with certainty, that they had killed a Baritone. There would have been no hope for them, and without that basic knowledge, there is no hope for us.
  22. Knowing the alignment of the people we sentence to death is the most basic element of the game for the good citizens. The witches already know who is on their side, they were told before the game. Telling the rest of us at the time of execution is the only way we can determine how to proceed. So, it's as simple as this. If you are a good citizen, don't vote until this matter is cleared up, because you can't do so with any certainty. If people object to the possibility of voting for someone as a test, how can they not object to this? It makes every vote a test, and then we don't even know the result. If you're a witch, carry on as usual, you already know who is good and who is bad and you'll take advantage of any situation to advance your evil cause. Just realise that we'll be watching.
  23. Yes, and I think we should expect an answer. This goes to the very core of how these games ... of life ... work. I can not find a single instance where that particular rule has been changed, it goes against every standard set forth, and violates the spirit of fair play and impartiality if we are being lied to in that regard. It should be noted that this particular Wikin site is the one he links to as a source of information in the Mafia Index. Until this is cleared up, I don't intend to vote.
  24. Har, it be a paintograph o' me early years, out a huntin' Fickle Fin the Skittish Shark of LEGOLAND Lagoon! I remember it like it was only yesterday... There he is, lads, but he be divin' too quickly! One of you jump in and get his attention! Wha-a-a-a... Buh-buh-buh-buh... You two related to Staudie? Who? Nevermind, just get in, I've got a musket, it'll be fine! They were a couple of good lads. Not too bright, but good lads. I never did get that shark, but now you can, just by being a fantastic critic, so get to it! The treasure... she be a-waitin' ya!
  25. That's a neat bit of work. Very impressive. Since we had two of these, I merged them. Not surprising that this kind of creation would create a lot of interest (and multiple threads).
