Ok, once we've seen these emails, I think it's time to head back out to the east and then choose a new direction to investigate. I can't picture much being left in here unless we throw someone down the dumb waiter. Anyone here ever work as a waiter before? I'd like to send his Mom an email too.
-
Ok, so we've pushed the small carved dragon in the picture frame? Well, how about we try to turn or push the bottom right spiral, the one that is going in the wrong direction... Then I'll go over and sit in the eastern chair, the one on it's own little carpet, just in case that's some kind of pressure plate, and take a load off with my good friend 'The Captain'. Bartender! No more whiskey for the actor, he gets mean when he drinks!
-
And they're watching us! I can feel it! Their beady little eyes follow us from room to room... *takes a swig of rum* Har, that be better. What were that Draggy fellow sayin'? Ah yes, the dragons. I'd like to maybe push the one inlaid into the small table, then I'm done with this silly room, unless someone wants to take a ride in the dumb waiter. *looks at Max* You know you want to... Must... not... make... joke. *drinks more rum* Push 'em, Max! Push 'em real good!
-
We could offer some to Max first. You know how those actors are, and if he doesn't die in a little while, we'll know it's safe. I'm going to run around the room like a mad man now and push any dragon logo, pattern, or crest I see. ALL OF THEM! Then I suggest we get out of here before the chef eats all this rotting food...
-
That's a good chap. I think I'll help you test out those liquids and then inspect the small table and lamp, looking inside the shade, under the lamp, under the table, in any drawer there might be and so on until I'm thoroughly drunk certain it's been carefully checked.
-
I think I'll take a look at the grandfather clock, observing the time it says and whether or not it's running presently. Should also be able to open it up and see what makes it tick, haha. Oh, just shut up and open the clock already.
-
I think I'll turn on the dvd player to see just what is in it, then take a closer look at the food and drinks, paying special attention to odd smells or any obvious signs of poison. Perhaps Dr. Phil could help out, since he might be able to spot things of that nature with his medical experience.
-
Excellent idea. While you're doing that, I'll just flip on this television and walk over to investigate the rug under the easternmost chair. Seems odd to me that it has it's own rug.

Uh... which one of you grabbed my megablocks in the dark? Nevermind, I don't really need to know. Hopefully, we'll run into some more dark rooms later. Hmmm, so many things to check out, I suspect we'll be here for the rest of the day. For starters, I think I'll head over to the large oak cabinet on the south wall and take a look at all it may hold in it's cupboards and drawers.

Right, that's exactly what I did, but once you hit their $2000 limit (here in the US), they either require a linked bank account or their own credit card. There was no way I was linking an account, nor will I ever use their card, but it filled the requirement and I still use my old one. I'm not sure how their policies are out of the US.

Recent changes at eBay have required all sellers to exclusively offer online payment options, mostly Paypal, so if you ever intend to deal there, you'll pretty much have no choice. That said, the only problem I ever had with Paypal was when I hit my sending limit (an arbitrary amount they give you at first, some people won't ever hit it, so it wouldn't matter) and had to "verify" my account. Basically, they wanted either a bank account attached or for me to take their credit card. I took their card and kept using my old one (annoys the heck out of them, but it works). Bottom line though... read everything on the site, know what you're agreeing to and be sure you're comfortable with it before making a decision. That will tell you how to set up an account and allow you to make an informed decision. It really isn't something you should take anyone's word on without researching it yourself directly.

An avatar and sig are personal choices designed to show others something about you and the things that interest you. They're a little like a first impression. Starting a thread like this, however, makes a bad first one, especially when you could have simply asked the question in your Hello thread. So, for a suggestion, try to post maturely or we'll begin to wonder if you qualify for the minimum age requirement of the site. Thanks!

A little confused about the Evil Wizard and his 'friends'
Shadows replied to Pencoin's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The closest to canon would be if there was a comic drawn for either set. Lacking that, you could check the official site and see if they give character profiles that indicate anything, but I doubt it. I personally despise it when a theme includes a pre-set story, so I would avoid anything of the sort. Yes it is, and now I'll give the correct answer... The skeleton queen is the wizard's first wife. When she died, he brought her back using his evil magic and she ruled as his queen. Only problem is, he eventually wanted a wife with, well, a little more skin on her bones, and he 'accidentally' undid that spell. His second wife, however, turned out to be a real witch... He just can't catch a break. -
Build & Decorate a Train Car: Rules & Discussion
Shadows replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Town
Great contest, TheBrickster! I hope I get a chance to participate, this one looks like a lot of fun! Stationary. Ok, seriously, that's just to allow people who don't actually have official train parts to still participate. -
Witch Hunt Mafia - Conclusion
Shadows replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I was given the completely useless ability to protect someone from being turned into a witch/heretic, basically to save their soul. That would have been more interesting had anyone been given the ability to do the opposite, huh? I don't remember the exact protection order, though the two nights I was seen at the Savril estate I was protecting Charles and the night that Joan and I spent together was for the same purpose (dammit). I had protected Miguel the night he was wounded and I think my first one was Mustafa because I thought that Sabrina was coming on so strong that she had to be a witch capable of turning people. Aw... thanks! -
Why Can't I Add a Poll to My Thread?
Shadows replied to Algernon's topic in Forum Information and Help
Now I'm adding a post to mention that I've renamed this thread so that it might actually serve some purpose, and hopefully we won't get all those new threads that would otherwise need merging here. So... everyone stop posting now! -
A library to the east? Excellent, those always turn up a clue or two. I do hope we'll return this way after our westward jaunt to take a closer look at what we might find in there. We should also keep an eye open for more of those dragon crests and start looking for a chimney.

The map is simply a case of reusing an existing part that basically works, even if not perfectly. I don't really mind it, but I'm surprised they didn't use the Agents map instead, it's much closer to appropriate. At one time, I made decals for a number of maps inspired by the Agents one, including some pirate-y variations. Here they are, if you missed them and want to print your own pirate maps. The pics are thumbnails, click them for the full size images. These and all 2x2 designs I produce are meant to be printed to a size of 1.551cm x 1.551cm (which is roughly 835dpi at this resolution). Don't ask me why I work at 835dpi, I never meant to, but they print very nicely that way. The first is the original, the second is just more colourful, the third is meant to symbolize El Dorado or any of the various golden city legends, and the last two are the more historically accurate 'plain' style that would look great when used with your Pirates/Conquistadors. Great review and I love the hell out of this set. Black fedora (yes, my current avatar has one, but it's an edit job), new hair, new Indy, new characters, cool cars, no crap. You can't beat a set like this.

Witch Hunt Mafia - Conclusion
Shadows replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Anyone who read the Mystery Castle knows that you and I have a running kill-each-other-at-all-costs tradition. It'll be kind of sad if we're ever on the same side in one of these. Oh, wait, we were. -
I'm fine with west, though I would simply like to open all of the doors and peer into the rooms for a moment, just to see if anything catches the eye.
-
Excuse me? I predicted this ending days ago, so if anyone kept your sorry megabloks alive, it's me.
-
Told you.

Witch Hunt Mafia - Conclusion
Shadows replied to MagPiesRUs's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
How many days ago did I propose this, only to be told that it was impossible? We could have saved a few more, but at least we stopped the madness before the whole town was wiped out. Plus we got rid of that annoying Charles... It was certainly not a traditional game, but an experience nonetheless. Thanks Tinypius. You may live... for now. -
It would be interesting to see if there is any evidence of that meal having been served. Excellent. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that is a particularly important room, the kind we might find something meaningful in. I'd like to suggest that once we finish with this hall, we take a look at what's behind these doors. Perhaps we should open all doors we find (that can be opened) and make a simple map of the house so we can keep track of where we've been. It'd be just lovely if our host could scribble that down. Someone in the family was a tacky old bugger, but you must admire the craftsmanship and materials chosen.
