  1. Yeah, I stink at taking photos of my stuff. I really need to learn how to do that. My inspiration for this one was: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictures%5C1082%5C06050442.jpg I'm going to get some SOO stickers for the front and sides. The bogies need complete re-working. They don't run well at all. I would agree that the height could probably be bumped by a brick or so. It's not powered - I had orignally put PF gear in it to make it powered, but took it out to make it lighter. Still won't run well even without that added weight.
  2. Hey all! I decided to try building a loco in 8-wide as opposed to my usual 6-wide designs. It was certainly easier from the standpoint of designing the cab and nose. The downside of course is that it is super heavy. Thoughts? soo_sd60d by Chorduroy, on Flickr soo_sd60c by Chorduroy, on Flickr soo_sd60 by Chorduroy, on Flickr
  3. This is spectacular!!! Great job.
  4. Yup - but I only had those pieces in black ...
  5. Thanks all!!
  6. LOL!
  7. This is a MOC I did for a show a while back depicting the scene in Tremors where the "Grabboid" comes through a basement wall and Michael Gross and Reba McEntire pump round after round into it. IMG_0487 by Chorduroy, on Flickr
  8. Hey all, Here are pics of a house I built to emulate the one in the pics. The first two floors came together very nicely as some parts seemed to fit really well with the overall scale and aesthetic, but the roof was a nightmare. I spent hours and hours on it, but couldn't get it to look even close to correct. Unfortunately, our convention and show was the next day and working until 2:00 AM still didn't get me any closer. Oh well, just ignore the awful roof! 9. This is AWESOME!!! The first time I saw that building, I thought it would make an amazing Lego project - really stoked to see someone tackle it so well! Congrats!
  10. Here are some micro builds for our LUG's summer show. photo by Chorduroy, on Flickr photo by Chorduroy, on Flickr photo by Chorduroy, on Flickr
  11. I am here to help!!! I'm shocked by the fact that every time people talk about tracking their sets/parts NOBODY seems to mention Basebrick.com - which is an absolutely marvelous site - and allows you to track sets AND minifigs AND individual parts. You can import lists from Brickset or Peeron to get started. I love it because when I'm building something I can very quickly see if I have enough of a particular part. It also has inventories for virtually all the sets out there in its catalog (which I believe is linked directly to Bricklink), and has a handy "Can I Build It" feature, which you can use to see what parts you have or may be missing to build any official set in their inventory, both with or without minifigs. Another fantastic feature is that you can import Bricklink orders DIRECTLY into Basebrick, so all your purchases can actually be tracked accurately. I really dig being able to enter the parts I get in drafts in our LUG meetings directly into my Basebrick parts list too. I love Basebrick and you should too (and no, I have no connection to the site - I just love it and tell every AFOL I know to use it!). Also - according to Basebrick, I have 213,282 parts in 754 sets and 26,770 loose parts for a total of 240,113.
  12. I started this as an entry into the HSH contest, but thanks to some astute rules noticing by my buddy Adam, I found out that it totally doesn't qualify. So - here it is anyway - my take on the interesting interior of the Sarang moon base from the Sci-Fi movie "Moon" starring Sam Rockwell. I really like the lines created by the "keyhole" bay doors, as well as the clean look of the predominantly white walls. moon2 by Chorduroy, on Flickr moon3 by Chorduroy, on Flickr moon4 by Chorduroy, on Flickr
  13. Seconded!! Also - very cool looking SD60!
  14. This is fantastic! Great job.
  15. Very cool! I dig this a lot!
  16. Hey everyone, I wanted to create a Jeep Gladiator step side truck for a MOC. I tried it in 6-wide first, but hated the result. I like this a bit better, but it seems too big now. I want to highlight just enough of the nuances to make it somewhat recognizeable, I'm not trying to achieve scale model accuracy. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated! photo by Chorduroy, on Flickr photo by Chorduroy, on Flickr photo by Chorduroy, on Flickr Here is an example of the source material: http://www.google.ca...ed=0CJsBEK0DMBY
  17. Hey all, Has anyone bought the Mountain Hut set and documented what is in each bag? I am missing a bag from the box, but I didn't realize it until I started parting it out, so I'm not sure exactly what parts I'm missing.
  18. Hi Andre!!! Looking forward to seeing these in Saskatoon! : )
  19. Looks spectacular!!
  20. You definitely chose a tricky one to re-create! I think the model would definitely benefit from lengthening it to try to make it somewhat closer to scale. I know you're trying to keep it to "Lego" scale, but the effect would be worth it.
  21. Hey all, our LUG had a small Christmas MOC exchange. This is what I made for it. photo by Chorduroy, on Flickr
  22. Please check out the rest of the creations in our contest here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sasklegousersgroup/10662882995/in/set-72157637290149266/ I apologize, I can't embed these photos for some reason.
  23. OK, the consensus seems to be that I need to change the nose. I will try that and see how it works out. The red stripes should be fairly easy to do in a sticker. Thanks for the feedback all!
  24. Really well done! Love it!
