  1. Excellent suggestions! I agree the blades need to be longer. The bottom looks too chunky to me too. I really wanted to use those pieces to get the angle, but then the cockpit looks kind of weird sitting on top of it. Might play around with that a bit.
  2. Update!! I incorporated your suggestions and updated the bird. Made the blades longer, reduced the size of the front bottom section and streamlined it into the body, added landing gear, and added tiles to the top of the window frame to make it slightly more smooth. Original pics are followed by the updated version. Hey all, Check out my attempt at a chopper. It started out as a loosely interpreted Sea King, but quickly degraded into a "mutt" ... haha! The five blade propeller technique is not my original idea, but its my favourite part of the build. Any thoughts/feelings/criticism would be cool! 3. This is too good!
  4. That was probably built over the course of 2 months. I don't have a lot of time each day with a young family and all! Thanks for the compliments! lol - I feel like I suck at rocks, so I really appreciate that!
  5. Thanks! Thank you! I was happier with the doors than almost anything else ... probably the only thing that came out pretty much how I saw it in my head. Thanks so much for the comments!
  6. Love it! Great job.
  7. Excellent ideas! I agree completely. I think the lesson I learned with this is that I need to plan out my builds better. I just started building and had to design on the fly. Bad idea! So yeah, I would absolutely do it differently next time. Yeah, the carriage has nowhere to go. Again, bad planning! There are doors to each tower, but clearly, nowhere for the carriage to get to the ground level. They aren't loose, they're in there really tight, actually. But the trade-off is that the bricks are a "wee" bit stressed!
  8. The only "interior" I did was kind of an indoor/outdoor kitchen on the ground floor of the castle ... which I'm not sure worked all that well ... see below. No interiors for the house ... Sure! Here's a couple: And the doors: Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.
  9. Hey all, Here is my first MOC. My presentation skills need work, I realize, but I need to tear these down for the parts, so I had to post in haste! Check out more pics on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/78917827@N07
  10. This thread is relevant to my interests. I am also looking to sell most of my collection (65,000 pieces approx.), which has been built primarily through buying sets. So the consensus is that it's best to sell each set separately rather than part out individual bricks?
  11. I just picked up nine midi-scale Imperial Destroyer sets at a local Wal-Mart on clearance. (Great for adding loads of grey to my collection) But there were zero of those at the other Wal-Marts in my city. It's just luck of the draw.
  12. Try clicking on "Price Guide" and entering the part number you want to search for. It tells you which stores have what quantity at what price. What I can't figure out is the pricing. I always thought that economic theory holds that when you buy higher quantities, the price is lower. Yet on BL, the opposite is consistently true. Why is that? And who is paying nearly 10x the price per brick from Lego.com for some parts? It's ridiculous. Of course, I AM a noob, and you will probably set me straight.
