LEGO Star Wars 2023 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Agent Kallus replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If you are begging then beg, but to quote retrobrick quoting me vaguely quoting Ben solo ‘Let the past die.’ Yeah this is exactly the thing with old helmet and Hunter. I’d take any system scale gunship, but I’d prefer fully closing doors. Then you lack imagination, there are dozens of things it could be, part of me suspects we don’t know about it because it’s something we don’t know about yet. I mean there could be other reasons we don’t know, maybe it’s a retailer exclusive or maybe there’s another retailer exclusive set that we don’t know anything about yet… I mean I’d also like a gunship don’t get me wrong and Lego would be foolish if they don’t make one relatively soon. They might’ve gone back on it but at one I’m sure that at somepoint one of our reliable sources said the autumn UCS was the sail barge. this is the part where I pretend I knew that all along. -

Honestly I don't think an official one would be much better than the purists one can make easily enough, don't curse me but I'd rather him not proitised. I'd rather any gunship put it's budget into properly closing doors than 5 extra generic clones. But I don't think we are getting a gunship this wave anyhow. -

I'd rather they'd justed done grey lines not white blobs with thick outlines, and dare I say I can can certainly see people reusing it for certain NSFW purposes. -

What about that DC/marvel crossover set with Sue Storm driving Wonder Woman's plane. I have mine displayed in a place of honour. -

Perhaps, perhaps not. Perhaps your point was weak. And the justifier is a similar enough shape just backwards... But yeah I do get what you are saying overall. With the 'my eyes are up here, no keep going higher' helmets?' Ugh no thank you. -

Not what I meant. You've only considering star destroyers aren't you, but you were vague with tan pyramid so I'll be vague with grey triangle. So Arquitens and justifier should be included and they were years right next to each other. -

Well rumour is that there will be a dedicated TotK/Zelda direct and it will officially reveal the already leaked TotK Switch oled. Now if it's a dedicated Zelda direct, we could get some Zelda merch revealed so I'm still gonna hope this gets revealed there or around the time of release of TotK by Lego. -

Well considering the Yavin IV base was combat free I can hope for a jedi temple in a similar fashion next year or whenever as it was mostly peace full no action scenes in the movies ( assuming that they'd want to keep the child murder and genocide out of a playset?). -

Yeah you wouldn't use a duck to gauge how much people like a feather, they wouldn't use this set to gauge interest in LotR sets just LotR D2Cs -

These sound pretty awesome, though I don't tend to get Jurassic sets unless discounted, being based on the original film is a definite boon. Do we have UK prices for these? -

We had the Patt-mobile, 66 mobile, Tumbler, technic Patt-mobile, UCS Tumbler and an awful 4+ one all on shelves concurrently. -

Not really too much to ask for though is it? That's 5 sets so I'm sure we can get 5 new and exciting figs between them all ( hopefully one of those Babu Frik lookalikes, New republic Hera, Sabine, Mando Ahsoka and some new characters we don't even know who they are yet) a new show should have a great potential for new characters. That's 11 (or 10 plus R2) so hopefully more and if they are unclear maybe they could be Rogue one or Rebels figs? (Probably not, I know) -

Yeah $180 Wayne manor please, I wouldn't have minded if this $450 set was $300 batcave with $150 Manor 20 figures out of the question? 20 is the bare minimum. Are you so afraid of disappointment that you refused to get excited and have to set ridiculously low standards, as for reusing prints, well can can reuse alot anyway. Batfam in civilian or casual clothes, suits for suit villains ( e.g black mask only needs a new head, Ventriloquist just needs a scarface, both can just wear suits), recently released characters can be reused ( Harley, bat girl etc) and this set costs $100 more than the Bulge. And look how many new prints we got in Rivendell. Yes, thank you. Superheroes is about the characters more than most others themes, it's not unreasonable to expect to get a lot of characters in a set we would have to pay alot for. -

Nothing reliable iirc, the guy with the Greedo profil picture just seems to doom and glooming and claim leakers are telling him privately that the temple of Doom was canned months ago, but then he can't even decide who told him. -

I'd rather a huge fig scaled Milano, though I'm expecting not be interested in the marvel D2C which is just as well as there are enough high end sets on my radar already. -

I guess people are assuming since all those crazy leaks were in a survey and looked unfinished they're not coming out for a while. A number of those sets would actually make a great deal of sense releasing within a year though, with X-Men '97 in Autumn, Zelda in May and Disney's anniversary this year too. Hopefully though, for my wallet's sake, they'll hold them off until next year at the earliest. No that's not it at all. And some of them are almost definitely coming out this year(Disney 100 sets for example) and most (but not all) of them looked pretty finished IMO No the real reason is because Foggy straight up said it wasn't the X-mansion and that that was probably a 2024 set. -

It's less about the presence of hate and more about a lack of love which is an important distinction. Well Minecraft had the Minecraft Frog this year, that's a win, love that little guy. And it also depends on what the NWH set is like too though we do know more about it currently, the build sounds very lane TBH, I'm hoping it turns out to be more of a bust at a smaller scale than just the head. -

I get what you are saying, but cut out the middle of the doughnut and have a ring doughnut. Though TBH marvel is getting it much worse than we are here in Star wars, we've got the Mando and Ahsoka sets to look forward too. And the January wave brought us a long awaited Tie Bomber, with a new named imperial officer no less ( though TBH 3 figs is a bit low for a set that size and another Vader is another Vader) and a nice ( if £5 overpriced) battlepack, the Cody helmet looks great and might be my first of the helmet sets (though probably not because I will prioritise Minifig scale sets). And we've the return of Bossk Leia and moulded Jabba, and another OT set that isn't a remake coming in the summer wave, maybe high republic Yoda in the 4+ set. Yeah it could've been better, I'd have like to see a BoBF finale set ( Rancor, Scorponeks, Santo, Cad Bane, Pykes etc) while it's still relevant enough for Lego to consider, more from tBB (clone commandos, season 2 outfits and Crosshairs shuttle with plain regs please) and Andor (Army troopers, prison escape, B2-emo etc) but compared to marvel who only have the CMF and the NWH set to look forward too, star wars is having a relative feast.( I guess they had the Morb set in January too but that's not a big W imo) I suppose there's also the D2Cs to consider but honestly I don't mind them being crap as there's enough D2Cs from other themes to catch my interest and if everything was perfect I definitely wouldn't be able to afford to get everything I want anyway.
