    Thanks rollermonkey and Junior Shark. I've played around with it a little more and increased the trailing edge sweep and swopped the two 6x1 pieces that stuck out either side of the cockpit for two 4x1 pieces. I also used the grappling hook cable reel and put the grappling hook/stud gun in the cockpit as a..... thingy! This means all the pieces used to make the Snowspeeder have been used to make the B-Wing. I didn't use any of the extra spare pieces that came with the set.     It's exactly the same as the 497 / 928 Galaxy Explorer apart from a few extra bricks in the cargo bay doors really. I was originally going to try to get the ground tracking station (partially dismantled of course!) to fit in the back like the cargo pod in the 6929 Starfleet Voyager set with the ramp folded vertically but I gave up with that idea.

    Thanks JPN366 Thanks joebiwankenobi. I didn't really keep track of how long it took to build. I just played around with it while half watching TV so maybe an hour or two a day for a week. I guess the general shape took 4 hours? Then it was just a case of tinkering around with it and using up the loose parts and making the wings work and the cockpit repositionable.I nearly purchased the B-Wing kit but the Snowspeeder was cheaper and better looking in my opinion. The Snowspeeder cockpit section build and the two grey wing pieces inspired me to have a go at a B-Wing alternate build. I really miss those alternate build ideas on the back of the boxes. Just looked up the "X-walker Defense Pod" pretty good!

    The tricky bits were getting the wings to fully fold and bulking up the engines section. Ideally I would have liked to tidy up the back of the cockpit pod and improve the trailing edge sweep of the main wing but it got to the "good enough" point.

    Classic Space LEGO 6890 cosmic cruiser alternate builds I was trying to do a slide in rover for the original set but gave up and did these enclosed cabin* alternate builds instead.     Classic Space LEGO 497 / 928 Galaxy Explorer alternate build (expanded cargo bay) Basically just uses parts from the ground tracking station to allow two slightly modified rovers to fit in the cargo bay.
