I found this strange too. -

Hard agree with this with the exception of a few sets. I loved the fantasy era skeleton boat attack on the harbour. but mill village was the best return. -

Yep, you were 100% right. I love seeing these “virtuous” companies jacking up the price of sets to gouge the customers while changing the name to appease imaginary offended people. Bravo lego. -

I still have my version of this on my display shelf and I love it a lot more than the offical one, so make of that what you will. Seems like the early leak was right about it just being a pure display piece. How disappointing. -

For films that include the hanging of a child this is a ridiculous and arbitrary hill to die on. -

Not really because Hollywood can’t do anything new they are simply putting, “interchangeable pirate A onto famous ship black pearl? You remember the black pearl? That’s everyone’s favorite!”. It’s a dumb technique that modern Hollywood seems to love, as in putting new crew on star ships, or fedoras on others, completely missing the entire point of what made them good, but I’m getting off topic. Haha your never, ever seeing that name on a ship or even printed into the little book it’s coming with. -

The new movie is apparently based on the all female script Disney worked about 6 years ago. Ayo EdebirI is apparently the lead actress and if Depp appears (which he said they would have to pay him 20 mil and an apology) it will likely only be a cameo. -

I’m not sure Disney want new movies to be associated with Johnny Depp, hence this being captain sparrows pirate ship. I think there is a much more important meaning to this name change. -

So hogsmead full leaks and I’m supposed to believe that someone with the box that leaked earlier shots hasn’t leaked the rest? Pretty lame viral market research TLG. -

Fully exposed studs up plates at the top of sails is unacceptable at that price point -

The top of the sails on the aft picture has the top beams brick built, which is rather ugly too. -

16 at the widest point, 14 by the time the gun ports are introduced. Which means it’s probably very unlikely we are getting lower decks. -

So we have the aft of the ship that’s cool. But it doesn’t really look a lot like the ship its based on. The one thing I’m really not overly excited about is the twist knobs on the back that obviously open the cannon ports and push the cannon ends out. That internal technic structure will take up a LOT of space. -

I really like what I’m seeing, shape seems great and minis look fantastic. That said I just finished building the going merry and the rubber rigging sucks, so yeah, that’s a thing. -
I wonder if the new Spider-Man pirate ship will have any useful parts? Is there anything this is based off comics wise etc?

If you’ve figured out how to send images yet; I’d love to see it, or pm a link? Curious to see how big the hull size is! -
Wow, that’s really interesting, what set was this cancelled from?
-
The abs on it and the grey plate behind it are terrible 😂😂 why not use an orange plate behind to give flame effects? Also the open clips on the shoulders holding straight flame pieces is kinda badly designed. I will say that I’m glad the head is printed and not stickers like I expected.

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

Yeah I agree, dark green legs would have looked great. What helmets from aqua man might match? I’m trying to think of options to use myself. -

I really hope so too. I’d love a desert castle with sand around, or a forest one with a lot of autumn leaf mess. I feel really similar. I love the torsos, I don’t even mind the legs but they feel a lot more like Vikings than a castle faction. An easy remedy with a few different helmets so I’m not overly bothered. -

Honestly; until I built it, I thought it looked great but wasn’t super excited to build it. After I was blown away by the build and how much it transcended a set and was art. I can understand this take, but lego obviously gave lion knights a much bigger budget in regards to parts number, variance of having multiple new torsos and parts printed and made specifically for the set so it’s an unfair comparison to make I feel. Also the snow environment absolutely develops a build in a way I wish more offical sets did. Parts of the castle being not being symmetrical due to being snowed over made it feel a lot more dynamic and alive, than the fairly standard brick stacking method of lion knights.
