Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
RetroInferno replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The tricky part is that Lego registers your VIP points once the order is shipped. I plan getting a bunch of sets when double VIP kicks in march 6 and the Y-wing and A-wing are already on back order. -

Anyone knows if VIP points are affected on back order items? What I mean by this is, if I buy an item during a period where VIP points are doubled, but the item gets shipped after that period, do I still get double points? -
I sure love Rebels' mandalorians, you can just stand your ground and shoot at their general direction to get rid of them. And what kind of dog shit plan Saxon just did when he changed the deal with the Wren? He got up there with what I'm assuming an escort of 4 dog shit mandos and threaten to take their daughter? While they offered 2 of the most wanted Jedi criminals the empire is after? You are really sure you have the high ground there buddy? Jesus Christ. That ending really sealed the deal with the blaster shot: I wouldn't have been mad if Sabine was shot dead, this would have enticed some kind of emotional drive for the rest of the crew, but no, bad guy dead, I must leave now to not become their leader, ''what are next''. I can't wait to see how they are going to mess up Thrawn, because apparantly he's only given something to do in the opening and finale. This show is the definition of frustrating at the moment.

LEGO Star Wars 2017 Pictures and Rumors

From all I've seen with these sets the most appealing stuff is the bounty hunter battle pack and the constraction figures. I also warmly applaud the Freemakers sets, as they take 2 big sets slots and managed to include at least 1 mini-fig that's gonna sell 25$ on the secondary market. At least the winter sets are nice! -
If Thrawn over looks the fact that they just killed the imperial Mandalorian leader and that house Wren defected he would be an absolute idiot if he's surprised for them to attack. Let's wait and see I guess.
-
Yep, she leaves the crew and won't be their leader. What was the point of Sabine then? Even side characters are falling apart. Jeez I can't wait now that this 2 episode arc about an irrelevent character has ended, they'll be able to focus on Thrawn plotting his next plan to let the Rebels escape. Who the heck is writting this?

Finn fighting in a floating wheelchair would be nice. He'll turn morbidly obese by episode IX and will demand to be called Baron Harkonnen. There's your antagonist for the next trilogy. In all seriousness though I really don't like the new box art; Force Awakens and Rogue One nailed it but this one is barely stylised... and white and red?

The UCS Hype. What will 2017 bring? (40th Anniversary)
RetroInferno replied to Major_Ton's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I really wish Lego could finally come up with a light stone gray again, which some people mentionned in the other thread. It's really nitpicking but Fuppylodders is right about the cockpit section and lenght. It's sure nice for people wanting a UCS version of this ship without having to dish out the extravagant amount of money for it but here's a couple things going agaisn't this set. - Lego over saturated the snowspeeder market to a point where TFOLS and AFOLS are fed up with the design. Heck even kids back in 2014 could get one. - The new model sure is more streamlined but the old one aged very well, unlike the old Interceptor and the likes. I've got both models side by side on imgur and the difference between the two is quite minimal ( more greebling, changed the front part, less square? ( even though the ship has a square shape ). - It's yet another makeover. Let's sneak up 500 more pieces and skyrocket the price. ( Death Star anyone? ) It's a good looking set for sure, but anything since 2016 screams lazyness with UCS. -

Mhhh, the new one looks obviously more streamlined: improved cockpit and front, more details near the engines. Structurally speaking though it seems awefully similar, and if Anio said the old model was already sturdy like a brick the 500 more pieces seems weird. It looks nice that's for sure but it's not really my cup of tea. -
A-wing and phantom 2.0 takes the cake as far as bad pricing goes. I'll just bricklink Thrawn.

It's based on the Lego official online shop. Both US and CAN got a price increase for BPs. -

Giving our wallets a 2 weeks break I guess. Though it seems rather pointless since most people will wait for the double VIP points starting march 6. -
Depressions ( many diffrent types ) goes from seasonal affective disorders to chronic ones that may require medication. You really should seek some processionnal help to guide you in the right direction. I think we all go through some though times and some people react differently, be it social, financial or even existential. Just don't keep it all inside, it may very well turn agaisn't you in ways you wouldn't expect. I kept pretty much everything inside since I was 11 years old, which I partially rectified now at 24, because suffering leads to hate, then anger and fear and it literally eats you from the inside, even if you know what you think is rubbish but can't feel any other way. I'm not 100% back on track ( socially especially, god ), if I ever was, but I'm a bit more at peace.

IMO the reasonable explanation is because of the investement they put in the Batman. Star Wars and Ninjago are such big players they might over shadow their ( insanely large ) line of sets for the movie. -

Anyone knows what's up with the february 17 release date for the NA star wars sets? Is Lego having such a hard time with production plants or do they want to give batman products such a large openning? -
What Video Game(s) are you playing?

There's nothing like going in agaisn't a full Rebel fleet stack and level 5 base with the Executor and Death Star 2 (also expect to giggle like a maniac ). The expansion is a must, although dealing with the corruption effect is sometime a pain in the megablocks. I completed a galatic conquest on medium with the Imperials and tried the rebels side and I'm absolute crap with them ( they rely on their fighter while their bigger ships tank the damage ). -
I stripped some data from reddit of a guy who bought the winter sets from Toys R Us, please note that Toys r Us has the tendency of selling some items above MSRP ( ''cough'' 150$ Krennic Shuttle ''cough'' ). Anyway here's the list in US dollars. - Battle on Scariff: 49,99. - A-wing: 42.99. - Duel on Naboo 24,99. - Phantom 2.0 29.99. - Both BPs at 14.99.

I tried out the expansion and it's definitly a nice over haul, altough balance wise it's kind of a mess. Some of Zann Consortium units are insanely good, although on ground nothing nothing stops good old Veers with support ( I filled my pants when I got General Mohc and Dark Troopers ), space battles as insanely good when you learn how to effectivly use your units. It's kind of a glorious mash up of everything Star Wars in the 1990's. -

Ground combat is definitly the game's low point: no map menu upgrade options for your units: lack of upgrades for ground troops ( storm troopers are terrible ), really weird counters ( who knew AT-ST were crap vs infantry ). -

I'm playing on medium on the Imperial campaign and I just defended coruscant with a medium frigate, a patrol fregate and a fully upgraded level 3 space spation. Believe me or not I wrecked 28 correlian corvettes, 59 x-wing squadrons, 20 Z-95 squadrons and 6 nebulon frigates. They forgot to attack with Y-wings and my space station shield held up good, I reserved the tie-bombers coming out of the space station to sneak attack the frigates. These space stations can be borderline broken but that was an amazing fight ahahaha. I got better at assaulting these stations, especially when you finally get your hands on the long range missile units, but infinite spawns is kind of cheap in some close situations IMHO. The campaign can also be very cheap sometimes, I just completed a mission where you get ambushed by 2 freacking mon calamari cruisers while you are assaulting a space station and getting rammed by rockets while your available cruisers really are not on par. ( which ironically Rebels have to steal their technology from the Empire ). I managed to beat on the second try with reserve units warping on their sorry fish butts The A.I really is brutal too, they flank really good in space battles, my only wish would have been for ground battles to be better, else is a pretty good game, but really hard. -

I've bought a truck ton of star wars games via humble bundle recently and I gave Empire at War a try: it would be a fun game if attacking wasn't a complete and utter shit show: you have limited ressources for attacking and you face limitless enemy opposition, for example, attacking a space station will not only indifinitly spawn X-wings and Y-wings, who are not a joke to deal with, but even fully armed correlian corvettes. Even if you have twice the amount of flag ships as the imperials you'll get wrecked. -
I gotta say I looked, and looked and LOOKED at 7163 Republic Gunship from one of my catalog when I was 9 or 10. You could seat 6 mini-figs in it, and carry a bunch more inside. As a kid this was the real deal. I don't remember asking my parents for it, in fact I never asked them for gifts for christmas and for birthdays, they were dealing with some extremly serious stuff for years with some of my siblings and always empatized for them and I would have felt bad. I bought the 2013 iteration in 2015 when copies were hard to find in stores and fullfilled some kind of childhood fantasy.

It's part of a promo in Hungary and is part of a larger collection, we don't know anymore than that so far. Same sort of stuff happenned with the first order general poly in asia last year. -
My father (62, worked as a graphic artist at Unversité Laval for 35 years) isn't registered on the forums ( his english skills are sadly not really sharp ) but he's got quite the Architecture collection, a hobby he picked up when I started collecting SW sets again and showed him the theme. He is really hyped for the next Arche de Triomphe and Guggenheim museum sets!
