  1. Woahh...! Nice! This is such an interesting way to build. Building the chassis before the suspension, and manage to do it all realistic! You inspired me a lot! Thanks!
  2. I am not an engineer, so correct me if I'm wrong, but if you rotate the turnable 90° lengthwise, then it fits between the O-frames, wouldn't that improve the pivot point? It would also give the opportunity to couple the drive-axle, but that would deny your idea a little I see
  3. An idea... Use antenna's for those nosehairs. As they are a little thinner and longer, also a little more like real nosehairs. Nosehair isn't the correct english word for it, is it?
  4. Okay, I am convinced. The rear axles are going to be driven with just single wheels. I have to look at the front axles if drive fits, then they will be driven too. @tommy, nice researsch you've done! I didn't know the weight limitation, and that fv101 looks gorgeous! A fennek is also nice, but less fun to buils I think. Thanks all!
  5. Right but, First, I didn't manage to build an axle with drive which is suspended, sturdy and small enough to fit 2 of them behind each other. Yes I actually tried. Second, when you take into considiration that this model is aprox. 50 studs long, drive without differential is going to downgrade it's performance and playability a lot. Sry if I'm a hard guy to convince, but I tried a lot of ideas, but maybe some of you guys manage to do it.
  6. This is how I build the rear axles. As you see, drive is not an option. This means no drive or steer motors. But, however, the truck has a container lifting system, which can be motorized. As for the tank, if I build one, it is going to be a realistic one. not like those small tanks, as they dont fit the final model. My plan was to build this truck in Dark Bluish Grey, but is it possible? as far as I know is there not many parts in that color, especially parts to design cabins. Anyone experience with it?
  7. On it you must have meant? The containers are too small for a tank, and The Netherlands don't own any tanks anymore, so it would not be correct in that way. But it's a good idea and I will think about it
  8. yeah, I forgot to mention my truck uses dubble tires at the rear axles. this makes the space between the wheels 4 studs. I can make a picture If you don't understand
  9. Thanks! But what I need is an axle with 4 studs between the wheels. As I found it impossible to do that with a differential, I gave up the idea of making it 8x8. Sadly the axle of Zed is too wide :-(
  10. Hey guys. For the last couple of days I've been building on a new project: a Scania WLS. Dutch people may recognize this truck as the dutch military heavy transport truck, transporting containers and flatracks. Here a picture of the real thing: For now I got only a part of the chassis. I am satisfied with the front suspension, and the rear axle is nice and compact, but it has 4 tires per axle, so a differential was impossible at this scale. Also, it does have too much backlash in my opininion. If someone knows how to fix it, that will be nice! And in this scale, again, just like my previous truck, the wheels are too wide to add drive to it. I got some pics here, please comment if you got some tips! And oh, Steering isn't added yet, I found it quite complicated to do it right, I will work on it soon .
  11. I'm sorry, but your reaction is just as unacceptable as his way of posting. I'm new at EB, but this is what I see. Please remember that you've been a unexperienced builder too. He is just new here and proud at his creation. Everybody makes mistakes and they learn from it. Btw, this is ofcourse not a personal offence.
  12. I see. I hope you are not right but that's probably not the case onfortunately
  13. Ok guys, this was my last post on this topic. The truck is taken apart because for me it wasn't challenging enough to nuild the same truck. Now I'm building the military scania 8x8
  14. In my opinion the body is going to rise a little. Look at thee space between the fenders and the wheel. On the sides is much more space than at the top. The normal car has just everywhere the same distance? Just my opinion, i'm not an engineer
  15. I really like this one! Maybe some day instructions or something? Pictures of my project are coming within a few days.
  16. As you can see in the pictures below, I added some flat plates at the front. This made it al look more smooth. The fenders are also less wide, but the steering isn't finished and I have trouble making the HoG. The rear axles are the same as the previous truck, but I think they will be pendular just to make it more special. I hope you guys have tips to improve this thing to the best.
  17. Those tracks! Rude! ;-) Imagen those track driving on your little toe, Love it! Hehe nice start!
  18. Good job, I like it! Nice thing you left the hood open at the sides, looks cool and well thougt! One little thing, you should maybe replace the beams/liftarms which are holding the blade from the tracks with light gray ones. I think this looks nice as it matched the color of the blade. Although, nice creation!
  19. I see finally opportunaties for a JCB Fasttrack
  20. Guys, sorry for the long silence here. I was a little busy and left the truck for what it was. But some days ago I decided to rebuild the truck. Same design, same scale, only with some improvements. The most important is multilink steering, this means smaller fenders are possible. Photos coming up!
  21. Thanks a lot! thats was a thing I "invented" myself so it means a lot!
  22. thanks! the fenders was all Sheepo's and Nico71's idea, no idea who came up first with it. And the grille was my idea, I think thanks guys for all the positive feedback! Love it! I made some photos of the lowered roof. Don't mind the flash, the light was really bad.
  23. jep I know. I came after it when I finished it. The mudguards are to big but that was almost not avoidable since the normal rack and pinion steering I use has a stupid pivot. Next time a Multilink like Sariels (You might have seen it) is a must. Also the cabin is to high and the doors and the chairs way to big. But I lowered the cabin -photos coming up- and that fixed a lot in my eyes. This model looks nice at first, but closer look bring some flaws in light. but hey, I'm building only for a year with technic now and am 15 years young. thanks for your feedback!
