[Video MOC] TMNT Ninja Turtles Lair Stop Motion
Cody Startale replied to AnkTales's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice, I love it! That TMNT line, though... I remember like three years ago when they were first released. I tried not being that much of a Lego nerd back then and wouldn't want to spend my money on all those sets just to get all four turtles. I thought it was "too expensive". So I thought I was being clever when I bought all of them as keychains and removed the chains. They had holes in their heads, but at least I had all four turtles! Well, guess what... I ended up buying sets anyway and now, I have every turtle 2 or 3 times It's a real shame they have ended the line. This had a lot of potential.. I am just glad that I got all the necessary minifigs in time, even Karai on her bike, which is really awesome. I always wanted to build a lair that embraced the designs of the 2012 cg series as well as the 1980s cartoon, but I haven't made it that far yet. So I will keep an eye on your progress Are you into customizing? Because I have created a Bebop torso decal from the cartoon, if you want it :)- 16 replies

[SoNE Ep XII - freebuild] Wave of Mutilation
Cody Startale replied to LucasLaughing's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
Let me quote the Lego Movie™ to describe your build: "Everything is awesome!" That Naboo-style building is excellent, instantly recognizable. Great architecture and perfect color scheme, it looks so much like right out of Theed. You captured that distinct look amazingly. The Aquilae jungle scenery is excellent, too. The lighting and the mood are great and really look like a jungle afternoon; the heads are creepy as all hell. But I think I enjoyed the narrative the most. I am fairly new to the play and haven't seen anything of your collaboration builds before, but now I had to read through all of them because it was so well done. That whole shadow hunt for Goatm An is very, very intruiging. I can't wait for it to continue! -
Just letting everyone know – I had my username changed so that my in-game character could have a better fitting name (I didn't know about the name rule before registering). As I started to develop more of a lore and character arc about him in my mind, it bugged me more and more that I had to go with such an unwisely chosen name, taken by a canonical character. So my character Poe Dameron is now Cody Startale and I figured it's best to get this over with before starting to actually participate in the Nar Eurbrikka play. I hope everyone's cool with that! @Mods, I hope it's no problem to change my character's name, too?

Neat! It is such a small, yet effective scene, I can't wait for more pictures! The wall and the floor design are very Imperial looking, to the point I'd wish the build would actually be bigger so I could see more of it, but then again, it's the sheer effectiveness of this small build that impresses me. That female officer is very strict looking, which is great. I also like how her chair is in an elevated position compared to Danny. Really gives off that "being interviewed by a strict higher-up" vibe!

Okay, thanks. Are you sure about the first picture, though? Because it says so right in the same sentence as the "use twice"-rule: You have to use at least two instances of the part in your build, at least one of which has to be clearly visible in the first picture of your entry! Though it doesn't state that the one used in the first picture needs to be the "more creative" one. I think this rule exists so that when the enemy team tries to guess your clue piece, they can just look at the first picture and be guaranteed to have it visible there, which makes a lot of sense. As for the potential to damage the story, one can include the more "boring", not so story-related instance of the piece in that first picture, I guess?

You're not being picked on, your topics just aren't created in a too appealing way, to be honest. Like, this thread title here. "[MOC]". Really, that's it? Not even a mention of what kind of moc it's gonna be, just a prefix and no nothing beyond that? That doesn't create interest at all! Next, the describing text in your opening post. It's not well written and just describes vague events that could be from a Rebels episode, it does not elaborate what your moc exactly is. From the description, I'd expect some kind of diorama/scene... too bad there are no pictures embedded so I could actually see what your moc is about. So, after going through this... do you expect me now to click a download-link and go through the "hassle" of opening your scene in LDD, just so I can comment on it? Sorry, but no way. Also, I am often browsing this board on my mobile. Even if I wasn't reluctant to download your file, I simply wouldn't be able to do so on my mobile. So, you might want to try to improve on all those things – give your threads descriptive titles that let anyone outside know what to expect when they click on it, add some pictures in the OP and describe your moc and its unique qualities that set it apart from other similarly themed builds. That's really all it takes, and people will gladly give you feedback on your creations and provide helpful tipps on what to improve and what they liked best.

So just to make sure that I really got that: I have to use my clue element not once, but actually twice in the built, is that correct? And judges will award creativity points for only one of those two uses, the one featured in the first image I post. Correct?
-
I know this is an older request, but the only one I thought I could tackle in a short amount of time. Let me know what you think, I tried an angry and a cocky expression. Could you provide any source images, please? I am not familiar with the characters. I do feel like helping out with decals, but not like searching for the source images as well. Lifting this burden from the decal creators highly increases the likelihood of someone answering your request.

Man. You nailed it. You nailed it!! Can I please, please buy one? I am such a huge ANH fan, it's not only my favorite Star Wars movie, but my favorite movie of all time. And damn, every single one of your photos just gives off that perfect ANH vibe. I am not exaggerating – I am physically excited right now looking at those pictures. It's so accurate! I LOVE it!!

Review-75075 Microfighters AT-AT
Cody Startale replied to Clonetrooperjerv0412's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I suppose you can still somewhat redeem it by just taking new pictures and editing them in? It might be too late for the building process or the box, but you write about the driver and the AT-AT's posability. Let's see some of that at the very least! :) -
[SoNE Freebuild] Is it a trap?
Cody Startale replied to MontyPython's topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
A spaceship that looks like built out of a boiler? Now that's Star Wars if I've ever seen it!! Love your build. Keep it up! -
Gorgeous! I've wanted to recreate this scene for weeks, but I just don't have enough grey and green tiles to capture the looks as perfectly as you did! You beat me to it and completely nailed the scene! Might I ask where to get the grey cape from for Luke? I only have a white one for mine...

I appreciate the humorous approach, but I think the final verdict (if it is to be taken seriously) is a little too harsh on the set. It's not the best thing out there and it is overpriced for sure, some play features are stupid too, but I think overall, it's a neat little built. If it was the entry part to a bigger build, I think no one would actually mind. It's a cool thing for display purposes and an even better base to begin building upon, as some around here have already marvelously done (I am thinking of Jayoheazy's moc particularly). I rated the set nice, but overpriced in my review and even some weeks into ownership, I still stand by this verdict as I do not regret the purchase so far.

[MOC]Episode VII-The Force Awakens-Supreme Leader Snoke
Cody Startale replied to KevFett2011's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That is excellent and spot-on! I really like it... can we have some better look on Snoke himself? I think he looks surprisingly accurate! At least the pose is so awesome, just like him. I wonder what his Lego face looks like in your build!- 13 replies

[MOC] Luggabeast (SW Ep. VII)
Cody Startale replied to Kreativer Kombinierer's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is amazeballs! I fell instantly in love with the first image, it looks about perfect, as far as I remember! But I've seen the movie three times, I think it's very accurate! Amazing job and photography, I adore it! Is there any chance to build it in a similar fashion without the brachiosaur? -
You mean the other arm? No, unfortunately not. Maybe I'll do it if I can spare enough time, though. It was kinda fun. JBricks, glad you like it! You can download the full printable .pdf here: http://www.filedropper.com/boba This contains green and red arm cannon variants with and without blue arm background. I have also included the horizontally flipped image of each version – maybe you'll want to use it for the other arm as well until I can come up with a dedicated motive.
-
I think I am done. Have a look at it and tell me what you think. I can offer a variant on transparent/white and one on blue, but I don't know how much well the blue matches the one actual brick color. But if you print on a transparent decal, I think you will have probably with the color strength, especially the yellow part will probably turn greenish when applied to a babyblue arm. But this is just a preview image however; let me know how you like it, the official arm printing is on it for comparison. I left the braid out, I hope that's okay. If you desperately want it, let me know and I'll add it, but I think it's a rather stupid part of the print actually. Also, I took some freedom with the cannon design and based it on this image instead of the official design. /* I made a quick test with a transparent sticker, I think it looks somewhat decent. Now if you have a better printer than I do and apply it with a good decal, you might get a fine result!

Yes, those powerfists are fantastic. Dosenbrot, you are from Austria as well? I don't assume you care for a Sammelbestellung, do you? -
I wish my photography skills were better, but I could not resist to realise this idea as quickly as possible.

That's a great idea. Make sure to let me see the final result, I am really curious! Should I add an apologetic "Sorry I killed your Son :(" expression? :D
-
That was an interesting request, I gave it a shot. Will this do?
-
I guess he was referring to this one. You can also see that one set does not offer a complete half-circle, so two of them will not combine to a full one either, unfortunately.
