It is so easy. I was stumped on doing this for the City Arctic line when I wanted to add more vehicles. I didn't think of a good way and eventually just gave up. Then your query got me thinking again. I think the easiest way to do it would be buy sticker sheets on Bricklink and just carefully cut the number stickers in half and voila, you can make any number you want. I've never bought just sticker sheets but I think the last time I looked it was a few buck each. Good luck!

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Willworkfortoys replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah, I do the same thing for Lego shop purchases/exclusives. Basically save up for when there are 2X VIP and and a good freebie. I stocked up during the VIP set exclusive and 2X VIP. We also had the balloon cart with the Fairground mixer which was expert creator but not modular. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I don't know if it has been done before but just looking at the Assembly Square images on Brickset, of which there are 35, they include axonometrics of each floor in addition to detail shops of nearly every room. I'm not even a particularly skilled builder and I think I could reverse engineer from the photos alone (I may even try it when I have a spare 8 hours). As for the price part, I just took his comment to mean that the earlier news is released the better chance you have of saving for a day 1 purchase. I was just noting you don't need to purchase on day 1 as you'll have a couple years of shelf life to eventually afford it. But yeah, modulars don't go down. Fortunately city and other non-exclusives do at least helping save somewhere in a Lego budget. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I do think the sets can be reverse engineered pretty easily dependent on the number of photos and detail provided. I also think that the cloners do it piecemeal so the earlier they can get to work on their copy the sooner they'll have it out to the market and the sooner TLG will have to compete. Even if all they know is the majority of the build is light blue 1x2 bricks they can start manufacturing those before they even see the build and already be ahead of the game in getting their copy released. In addition even if TLG did take people saving money into account (which I really doubt they do) the sets are on shelves for years giving people plenty of time to eventually buy one. The real trick is offsetting your personal timeline. I used to buy video games and systems right when released; then I realized if I take a year off and make what I have last another year I'd be two years out from new releases and get them 'new to me' at half the cost and not be stuck in a waiting/saving/pre-order cycle. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Willworkfortoys replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Yeah, I'll feel pretty confident now 10260 is the modular and 10261 is a fairground roller coaster. Not 100% but better than I did. I'm basing it arbitrarily on difference in model numbers and price but that's enough for me to plan on for now. -

I can see it now. A modular built entirely of tiny helicopters. (Someone get on that btw) I would like a Police Station as well and since I don't have Fire Brigade I could hopefully mod a 2nd Police Station modular to function as a firehouse. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Willworkfortoys replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree with most of the appraisals everyone has mentioned but I think the $320 Coaster set is going to be a higher ppp than usual due to new bigger track pieces. I think it is going to be a big set spatially that a lot of people are going to want to mod to make more presentable. Basically with that price I think that it is going to be more like a 'city' coaster in the expert line. -
Just a word to the wise about feeling for the pastry chef, if you feel too hard you will smush her whisk. I speak from experience and a bent whisk :-O

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Willworkfortoys replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I think that the way to go would be mid year 16 wide residential building and 32 wide (non-multiple) typical release. That way they can sell multiples of the mid-year release because you can never have too much housing and the 32 wides could be building you really only need one of, i.e. town hall, fire brigade, and newly; hospital, police station, government building, etc. -
I doubt it and not sure how I'd feel about it anyway but what if there were a polybag promo that was the 6th animal? Otherwise I'm sure we can all fill that space with another animal.

I don't think there is another animal but I do think the image is angled just so it omits what may be a large empty space in the rear(?) The press release says 5 animals: "5 buildable animal rides, including a white swan and 4 moving animals" so maybe that 6th spot is where the crank sits when not in use.

I'm not sure what piece you're seeing. Is it this piece on its side you're talking about? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=2449#T=S&O={} Either way I'm really excited for this set and finally putting together a fairgrounds.

Nexo Knights 2016
Willworkfortoys replied to BrickJagger's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
After collecting the Ultimate sets here and there I got bored and ordered everything from the first year one day (when my wife convinced me I wouldn't be able to wait until 2x VIP points for a long list of other stuff). It has been fun putting these together the past couple weeks. Now to make some additional MOCs and decide if I'm putting stickers on anything or if I'll part it all out for MOCs. -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Willworkfortoys replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the heads up, was this in a designer's notes or video somewhere? Would be curious to see the remainder of the conversation. Will do. Thanks! That is correct. The studs should all still connect despite the designer's intended proposal. :-) -
LEGO Nexo Knights 2017 Discussion
Willworkfortoys replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I figure this is as good a place as any and doesn't warrant its own thread. Is there a list of set interconnectivity between sets anywhere for Nexo Knights? I've not been able to find one. Example, Merlok's Library and Fortrexx, Infernox and Jestro's Evil Mobile, etc. The reasons I ask is I noticed on Lance's Battle Suit (70366) that parts from his Twin Jouster (70348) could be attached. I also noticed that the Black Knight mech has a bad guy base in the design style of Jestro's Volcano Lair but can't find anything about if there was an intended place to add it on. I just got all the first year stuff over the past week (with the exception of some ultimates that got me into this theme) and have had a blast building. Any help is appreciated! -
Modifying / Removing Print from Road Plates
Willworkfortoys replied to Willworkfortoys's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the help folks. I hadn't considered trying the dremmel which I'll give a go at. I also have some decal setting solution around, don't remember which brand, but I'll give that a shot too and report my findings! -
I'm looking for a solution for removing print from lego baseplates. On a 4-way intersection plate I tested alcohol method, brasso method, eraser method and sanding. My findings are that alcohol removes easiest, brasso the best and cleanest, eraser had little to no effect on baseplates and sanding is a great way to ruin a baseplate (as I suspected but I had to try). Now, the problem is I've searched and searched and all print removing threads seem to pertain to minifigures/torsos or other printed parts and not to road plates which I suspect use a slightly (chemically) different type of printing. In addition while brasso does work my intention is to remove all printing from the 4-way baseplates and make an airbrush template to make them appear as normal straight road plates with a parking stall on either side. I want to do this to 8+ plates and brasso will take the better part of forever to achieve. Is there a resource for what type of print is used on the plates so that a chemical bath can be designed to dissolve print without affecting the plate? Any help is appreciated or links that I may have somehow missed in my many many searches. Thanks!

Which to buy? Fire Brigade or Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters?
Willworkfortoys replied to Kwando's topic in LEGO Town
That is my plan as well. It looks like with GB set and a bunch of my pieces (the generic ones not included in GB that are in the Fire Brigade) I can make a fire brigade (or close enough for my liking) and have enough pieces left over for a MOC modular. -
This is terrific! I love the process of your design. If I had one suggestion it would be to add a vertical linear element at the front eave corner of the house. From the photos is appears to be a strong architectural element and likely structurally necessary as well to hold the bearing of the gable end truss. Great build!

Eurobricks Mega Building LEGO CMFs Contest 2016
Willworkfortoys replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't know if this answers your question but I plan on participating because the prize is the newest wave of minifigures of which I own none yet. So, if nothing else it gives people a chance to get minifigures they don't yet own by not requiring their appearance in the vignette. Really digging the entries thus far. I've scrapped about four so far because I wasn't happy with them or ran into a roadblock. I have one that I can enter if need be. Until then I'll keep trying to find time to build. I have favorites that people have posted already but with so much time left and so many good entries that'll likely change. -
