  1. I like it. I do find it strange that the bathroom door has a window but to each their own I suppose. My initial reaction is that the price is going to make this a slow seller at the beginning.
  2. I understand everyone's want for leaked modular info or else I wouldn't be here looking for it but it seems a lot of people are trying to justify a leak because they want it. To play devil's advocate: I thought the reason for avoiding leaks was so other companies can't capitalize on copies of TLG's designs early. Additionally they may want to put it off so people don't wait to buy sets if they know what new ones are coming, may want to avoid early criticisms and complaints similar to what the Diner received, or they may just want to time their hype just right. I'm sure their marketing department knows what they're doing and catering to the afol online speculation community is probably not even on their radar (but it'd be cool if it was).
  3. Thanks. I really wasn't sure with the bevy of Batman sets out there. I wasn't intending on non 'official' figures until I gathered the ones already out there but that wasn't clear (I did use the word assemble). Although, of the ones you mentioned, I could probably make some pretty good ones with official parts. I did look through a list of all the villains and while I didn't remember many of them there were a lot of generic females that I think would be relatively easy to create but as suggested by your list many of them weren't memorable enough to mention and therefor warrant a figure.
  4. Rather than start a new topic I thought this might be the place to ask. I'm trying to assemble a crew of Batman villains from the Classic TV Series. Aside from the figures in the classic Batcave, Egghead, King Tut, and Mr. Freeze who else am I missing? I'm looking for characters more or less faithful to their television appearances; i.e. Clock King minifigure exists but gets its inspiration from the comics. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks.
  5. I agree with all of them except Axl and Macy, choosing the Tower Carrier and Thunder Mace instead. I think the Rumble Blade may have been the best designed set of the series. As a kid I could see myself wielding those as vehicles but also as a sword, hammer, and two little grenades. Pretty cool feature. Also why I liked the Thunder Mace more.
  6. Whoa. That takes me back. I had that. You squeezed its legs together and it made a horrible moaning noise. I threw it in a bathtub and still worked. That thing was awesome. Even black market dinosaur animal cruelty makes me sad.
  7. Does anyone that has collected a line that ended abruptly have any speculation on prices? I have only Knighton Castle and the current wave to complete my Nexo collection but I want to collect doubles/triples of everything if I can. I enjoy the pieces so much and because a lot of them will be used for a large project in my LUG (especially the fluorescent pieces). I don't know when is the right time to buy to maximize my dollar/sets. My initial thought is make sure I get one of everything, full price as needed and then cross my fingers for price drops. I'm sure everyone here is in the same boat in terms of having "plans" for a huge MOC that may never come to fruition but half the fun is planning and buying and parting out.
  8. This is fantastic! Not sure how I missed it but I'm going to try and steal this as much as possible to fit into my modular city as this was also my plan but I still have yet to get around to it.
  9. Ninjago City is by far my favorite set of the year and now my favorite set I've ever put together. I love modulars of course and this has all the details of those with additional creative elements/builds not constrained to city/modular 'realism'.
  10. I think Lepin will find this extremely useful. J/K. I think it's awesome people in this community are capable of this and able to share their hardwork. It also goes back to the point that people can successfully engineer sets from pictures alone. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with from your effort here. My main question would be approximately how many 1x2 tiles were used on the facade if people (like me maybe) are inclined to use a different color.
  11. My point exactly! I agree with disliking not having an architectural variety, even in an extreme sense. I don't think a lot of folks that live in old old cities that are made up of single style or two requisite to the time period in which it was founded have a feeling of just how architecturally eclectic a lot of American streets in urban areas are. I regularly frequent streets with architectural styles spanning hundreds of years one after another that generally subscribe to same proportional requirements of Lego modulars in terms of width, height, roof line, etc. The only major difference that I notice relative to where I live is a lack of the occasional alley.
  12. I invite everyone to emote how they feel about the change from the classic mini face by using the classic mini face. I'll start.
  13. I've mentioned it before and I'm hypothesizing it now: The garish color scheme and departure from the previous modular norm may turn a lot of previous modular collectors away but after 3 or 4 releases of this 'new' style with more vibrant colors and expressive mini faces the prices on this one are going to increase via the year 2022 when people realize it fits in perfect with 'Modulars Volume 2 series' and realize their missed opportunity at not purchasing this one before it retired.
  14. I've had to reference 2009, 2012, 2015 IBCs (International Building Code), 2009 IRC (Residential), and ANSI 117.1 today so this comment made me simultaneously laugh and cry.
  15. I think the new classic boxes may be a nod to that.
  16. Let this be yet another lesson to everyone who commented with unwavering certainty that this was FAKE because of 'x,y, and z'. Remember, it's ok to be wrong but it isn't ok to be certain you're right when you're wrong. I might be mistaken though.
  17. Maybe it doesn't belong to Jim? Maybe it is a place for all Jims. I do like the pun of Jims with a gym above. Maybe the Jims is referring to a place belonging to Jim plus THE gym above hence the plural. Regardless, it is funny to me. I'm excited for this set but my initial feeling for the set puts it somewhere below PR (my number 1) and somewhere above Brick Bank which is 4 or 5 for me.
  18. How does everyone "hear" so much and yet no one has any concrete anything? Fingers still crossed that it is legit, that we'll hear soon, and that the image we saw was a preliminary image with adjustments to be made. Is it bad that now I'm even wanting to see the 2019 modular to get a better idea of where things are heading? Because with two points we can draw a straight line to the future!
  19. Looking for feedback on two partial sets I recently purchased (and if there is a better place to move this to please have one of you wonderful MODs do so). I bought two 76052 Classic TV Series Batcave sets recently both listed as 'missing minifigures only' from two different people and both were missing the batcycle. One was also missing about 100 other pieces and I haven't had a chance to go through the second one yet. I think both may have been legitimately overlooked and both sellers are supposedly doing what they can to find the missing pieces and for now I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. Is this common though with this set in particular or just buying 'minifig missing only' sets? It wouldn't be so bad except that both of them did this and that it's a potentially $10 portion of each set. Granted, I paid about $140 for both so even if each was missing 500 pieces it'd still be about 3.5 cents a piece. I typically only buy new and I'm thinking more and more I should stick to this if it is a common occurrence. Opinions or validation of my annoyance at this is much appreciated. :-)
  20. My info is in the same place everyone keeps their info, prepared to be pulled out of thin air at any moment (thin air = ma butt). My sources says, the modular is in fact a post office diner done entirely in light teal with modern faces and fabuland bodies. Has anyone been able to make any educated guesses at the third floor occupant?
  21. It is funny how people that don't like it tend to think this is fake and people that do like it tend to think this is legit. It's amazing how we (you know, human beings) can make the narrative fit our feelings. Never gets old. BTW, I like it, so it's real. :-) In all honestly though, I don't like all of it but if it is real I think a full press release will make me like it a lot more.
  22. While agree it could very well be fake for all the folks saying it is fake because new faces and departure from other building styles this seems like the perfect time in the line to switch things up. They may be taking a long view where ten future buildings, this one included, look great together. And, when interspersed with the existing will all balance out. Some of the figs could also have an alternate old school smiley face on the backside.
  23. If indeed real I think second floor may be a gym. Basing this on the shirtless guy and what looks like 'smoothie' maker on second floor and maybe a blue punching bag to the right.
  24. I agree it is atypical but so is a pool hall/detective's office/bakery but that won't stop TLG. I'm even speculating on a 16 wide adjacent to a 16 wide. Post office next to a....?who knows. Just saying I can't fathom an in scale 32x32 2 or 3 story ALL P.O. building.
  25. I think if you're seeing Ninjago everywhere it means you're focusing on it. I remember having a similar feeling when the batman movie was released. It's just saturated right now because they're pushing a movie line, but while there has been crossover in terms of similarity to other lines I don't feel like Ninjago has taken anything away from other lines, just 'in addition to'. I personally like the stuff and was going to go all-in on the Ninjago movie stuff because I like the variety. I haven't even seen the movie but the Ninjago City has been my favorite build since Parisian Restaurant where I was genuinely excited for the duration of the build. If we are getting a Post Office Modular on a 32x32 plate I feel like there is going to be at least a second, if not third, focus of the building. While I love plenty of residential space I prefer them separate from the other uses. I.E. I hope its not a first floor post office with just apartments above. A 2nd floor arcade would be very cool. I just hope we see something soon because this thread is making more impatient than I would be normally.
