Since Brickshelf was down at the time, these ended up on maj.com ... I really should put them on BS... Anyway: MOCs Here we have a WWI monument (it says "to our heroes 1914-1918"), small market and newspaper kiosk/ "frituur" (some sort of Snackbar you could say) And Joe VIG keeps getting in trouble, doesn't he ;-) TT

Perhaps this helps? (gallery) foliage TT

A sweet cannon on Brickshelf
Tanotrooper replied to Brickadier General's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
what caliber is the official LEGO cannon anyway? 6 pounder, 12 pounder? They also appear on ships wich could be 24 pounders... A nice creation, quick way to make cannons but it looks too... skeletal. TT -
Hang the thief! I VOTE Wouwie13

Thanks! Indeed, the straps are a bit annoying... but anyway: *update* I tried to let them kneel. And it worked. The figure here is a British light infantryman. Probaply in square formation: reference: reference Comments and all are VERY welcome! TT

The lego shako is the type only used by Dutch infantry and Biritsh light infantry. The LEGO shako narrows at the top, while the french one goes wider at the top. It's the best design I can think of at the moment :-D TT EDIT: I tried your technique ZCerberus, the shako looks better now:

Ok, I found a design for the French-style shakos. I used it to make this Prussian line infantryman (late Napoleonic Wars): the black piece is the longcoat wich was rolled up and hung over the chest. (shako is better in person than in pics) reference of course: reference 1 reference 2 Comments and other things are welcome!!! TT

I have a perhaps even better deisgn for bearskins, yet it needs some work... TT

First up we have a black knight: and here is a Teutonic knight in progress. Sadly I only have 1 silver shoe :? C and C are always very welcome! :D TT

Thank you very much *sweet* I have some ideas for other Napoleonics wich I'll work out the coming days. TT

They sure are in for quite the fight. I ain't takings sides yet, let's see if they can proof what they say. I'm sure up for some bacon and beans!

@ ZCerberus: I use the most white light in my house and no flash. Flash overlights the pic often, unless it's really dark. THe reference pics will be added to their posts. TT

that won't work. Atleast not with this kind of torso. The type I use started appearing around mid 90's. The earlier ones are able to take a technic pin, but that is way too high (big gap). The really old ones don't have any inside frame at all. Actually, now I saw I could push the hand all the way in, up to the fingers. This way the hand is able to take the T-bar way closer, and now there really isn't that much of a difference between torso and legs. TT

thanks :-D it's long/female hair in black turned around on 2 1*1 round plates ;-) TT

*update* from the Napoleonic wars, an officer of the British rifles. The officers wore jackets over their left arm, wich is represented here. The British rifles were the elite light infantry and were armed with rifles rather than muskets: reference: http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review...=REV&code=02581 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review...u=ITA&code=6083 TT

*update* an English bobbie: TT

the fact is, Playmobil never quite stops a theme. It comes back after a break. But even if it doesn't, there is still the magnificent line of Specials to fall back too, with wich old themes can be refreshed, or new themes created. The set shown here belongs to the "Supersets", sets with about 3 figures, a sturdy baseplate, and lots of accesoires to start your theme with. Indeed LEGO can learn from Playmobil, especially about the Specials. If the Impulse line becomes something like the Specials are, the world would be a better place, and more themes could evolve from these simple sets. (Before Playmobil had a Roman line, collectors including myself, bought tens or hundreds or even thousands of the Roman legionnaire special to build their armies and scenes with.) TT

Indy. They gave us what was thouht impossible: flesh ( *wub* ) nazis and later on also soviets. I like johhny too, but he's... yellow :-X ( :-D ) TT

cut open and their body parts sorted >:-) nah, minifigs I don't need are dismantled and body parts sorted by colour (and non-printed and printed colour). Fleshie parts are seperated from the rest. TT

I'm with you partner, hang the outlaw! Vote: Ricecracker

indeed, thats why it should stay here. I tried to put a lever base on the fin of the helmet, but it doesn't fit... I'll make more figs soon... TT
-
well, I suppose custom is a bit different for everyone, but I consider this purist MOCs because no single piece is altered, damaged, cut, glued etc. Thats the beauty of purist MOCs, and to place them in a custom forum doesn't give enough honour for hard work that may have been put into designing it, instead of just painting it. (No offense customisers ;-) ) TT hmm... we need longer silver sabres...

*whispers too* I don't like that Piranha fellow. He's been denying everything about bandits last month...

plans are on their way to make new horses and making these figures sit on them correctly. Yet I find it very annoying to place this in the minifig customs forum since this isn't a custom |-/ Thanks for the comments! The gap there first was between the legs and torso are no more since I saw you can push the minifig hand even more in the torso :-D all TTfigs: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=296898 TT

I'll be placing any pirate oriented TTfigs in here, so please don't block this thread MODs X-D ok, up first is a French cuirassier from the Napoleonic Wars: reference: cuirassier1 cuirassier2 Comments etc. are welcome! :-D TT
