  1. ok, thanks Sinner *sweet* TT
  2. I need about 1 more hour to enter it, is it still allowed? TT
  3. If I can still enter, I'll post my license entry tis afternoon. (6 hours before America's afternoon) TT
  4. Thanks everyone for the replies! *sweet* Yes, the movie is sad at the end, and that's what I was aiming for :'-) The "wall" explosion was very fun to make, as I had never scene an explosion in different stages, it was a guess wich came out great! *sweet* Ah, so you are the Belgian who made that great WWI gallery! I really love your creations! *pirate* I'm really glad the story gets past the language border that may occur for some of you *sweet* TT BTW: My French teacher is going to place this on the school site, and show it on a "open day" on our school! *sweet*
  5. Ah, my first Western set I got. I remember well... I went to the beach when I was little, and I bought this set. A song reminds of that day too... I was only 5 years old I think, and I loved the idea of using that horse saddle as a pillow. I used one of them as Zorro and the others as soldiers... good times... TT
  6. AMAZING! The amount of smart details is huge! I love your burnt roof, cannonball into wall, arrow wound, etc. Very nice work. I would hate to be the judge on the battles contest... TT
  7. I used a program called "Videomach", although it was a demo and expired in a couple of days, I had to hurry myself into making the movie. The german helmet is made by brickforge and the german cap is a normal cap turned around. Thank you for your comment! TT
  8. Hey everyone, I finished my movie for a project fir my French class, and this is the result: It's based on the French poeme "Demain, dès l'aube..." and places itself in WWI. Note the difference in uniforms of the French troops from 1914-1915 and the bayonet design. Comments are extremely welcome, and mind this is my first brickmovie *sweet* TT
  9. So the contest is officialy closed now? TT
  10. 18. When you need to go to the toilet (or anywhere else), you shout and point "To the badroom!" TT
  11. I wish I could, but they are scale 1/72 >:-) I find it a very useful reference site, as I learned most things about armies there. TT
  12. I have made a purist design for the French style shako, as can be seen into this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...15&start=15 it consist of a 1*1 tooth piece, a 1*1 plate and the "army style shaven" black hair. (check for the Prussian infantry) I also have design for bearskins and that special "shako" the highlanders wore... (have to make them though) TT
  13. I bought a republic gunship glued display model for 25€ in a toyshop... TT
  14. I have some more ideas... gotta see if I can get to them. Mr. Piranha , as much as I love your entry (would be great to get that hairpiece cheap) , that can't be 27 pieces without the minifig, because if I don't even count the flower leaves, I come to 28 pieces. I'm not looking for a fight mr. Piranha, I just wanted to mention it. :-$ Towards my own entry: the only thing that might be unlikely is the fishing net/spider web, as it's a perhaps big piece. As the knife comes in a sprue, that would make 27 pieces + minifig BTW ;-)
  15. Hey all, is I liked the idea for the contest, I'm gonna make some Impulse sets in hope to inspire LEGO to make some things similar. First up, the Roman gladiator! (see contest entry thread for more detailed description) Back of the box showing alternative model and the 3 possibilities to make gladiators: Retarius, Thracian and Murmillo. The Retarius was the "fisherman" inspired by Neptune or Poseidon and therefore used a fishnet with weights on it, to trap the opponent and a trident. They were very swift and agile, but wore almost no protection. Their main target was to make the opponent tired and to strike him then. The Thracian has a curved sword to fight for example the Murmillo with. He could stab behind the shield with this sword. He usually wore greaves as his round shield didn't offer enough protection. The Murmillo was the Roman gladiator. He used the shield like a legionnaire's one and had a dagger, with an enclosed helmet. He sometimes had a fish decoration on his helmet, and therefore would fight the Retarius. He also wore arm protection and greaves, sometimes even more to be very heavily armored. In battles, this would be the "Roman" as where he would fight a Hoplomachus for example, wich was the "Greek", to express Rome's victory upon it. Comments are greatly accepted! I wanted to enter the Roman legionnaire, but I don't have his helmet yet... TT
  16. Hi all, I have seen a lot of people using the lego shako for any type of shako, and as some have enormous impressive armies, the price of shakos goes up at an incredible rate. I hope if we only start using the shakos for the ones wich they represent, we could perhaps cool the prices down a bit. Ok, let's have a look at the lego shako: As we see, the shako has a wide base, and narrows at the top. It also has a plume for decoration. In the Napoleonic wars, this type of shako was used by different countries and troops: 1) British light infantry light infantry Quite a considerable part of the British army, light infantry wore this shako, so... the 95th regiment also used it: british rifles 2) Dutch infantry the Dutch infantry, such as on Waterloo used this type of shako too. Dutch troops 3) Spanish infantry Spanish infantry 4) early Napoleonic wars Prussian Fusiliers They can be used for this, although this is straight, while the official is narrow at the top. Prussian fusillier 1806 And that would be it. Feel free to add more troops if it REALLY resembles the lego shako. The French shako, wich was used the most at that time, was the opposite of the lego shako: narrow at the base and widening towards the top. TT
  17. entry finally posted *sweet* indeed, some don't keep in mind it all has to fit into a rougly 10*10cm box... Oh well, I really enjoyed this contest *pirate* TT

  20. Just for the record, what did Wouwie13 actually do in this town? (as I don't see it written)
  21. Allright then. I stay by my thoughts: Vote Wouwie13
  22. Friends, I assume the idea of it is great, but has there been any real confirmation about this? It isn't the first time artwork hasn't been made into plastic. Still I hope,if they will come, that the weaponry is interesting. Since castle is going fantasy, maybe a more historical line can be made beside it? (Romans?) TT
