I think the crystal balls will still be clear but with a trans yellow head in them or something and as for Saruman's staff, it looks to be the same design as the one in the game

I wonder that if the Orthanc is real, that it will be the first set to have a portrait picture on the box instead of landscape because of the sheer height of the tower?

Well I want two to display one on the balcony of the Orthanc and the other inside battling Gandalf Plus it's always nice to have a back up when there are hungry dogs around

Now that's been isolated i can really see the spiral stairs around the tree trunk! And you can really tell that that Balrog shape is very similar to the one in the game Thanks Magma!

I hope this is true because I was about to order the parts to make my own! If it is true it would account for putting Saruman in a smaller set so that people who can't afford the Orthanc for Saruman can buy that battle set instead

I share this viewpoint as well! And people shouldn't have a gripe with the great goblin because even in the book he was described as repulsive and grotesque I think all the designs are great and even better in LEGO! It's gonna be a good Christmas

The thought had occurred, but it is mostly at the discretion of the person serving you (so pick someone young and inexperienced ) Any who, I've had similar promotions where if you go back to the shop close to closing time and ask if they have any left you can simply buy them without the paper In fact, I've done that twice now!

I was just thinking about the Uruk Hai polybag. I know it's in the Sun some time in October, and that only costs 50p! So you could have 10 Uruk for £5!!!

Well I would love pictures but aren't they 'unveiling' the Hobbit sets which means that we'll most likely see them later when they're shown off

There was a set in 1992 with that number - 9475: Ideas for Action Junior Project Works But LEGO have made sets with the same number before so who knows!

Well i've finished him! I'm pretty happy with how he turned out Now all i have to do is wait for my lego to come from the US and i can use the real Merry and Pippin Enjoy! (he is a tad unstable because I made one knee higher than the other like in the movie But i plan to put him on a baseplate for display)

I've collected lego for 18 years now and only ever built and diplayed sets......ocassionally i've played with them, but who hasn't I've somehow managed to amount around 35 kilos of mixed lego be it from carboots or ebay and i decided to sort it in preperation for the LOTR sets. So i started putting a few bits together while sorting and before i knew it i was making a MOC for the first time! Appologies for any out of place colours, it's difficult to find them within the mess sometimes so i'll replace them when i find them So anyway, go easy on me, i've only ever observed techniques you guys use and never put them into practice Here he is so far...

Well it's annoying about the extra wait for us Brits! I did find on eBay, somebody shipping all of the sets for £300 and £70 P&P to the UK from the usa!! Thats only £40 more than it is for all the sets and thats even without the UK postage charges! I don't think I can resist much longer....

Sorry to detract the topic away from the purists debate But I read a few pages back that the sets would be released in the UK in 11 days, probably 9 or 10 now Just wondering how we know this, i've searched and found nothing, surely some site would be taking pre-orders by now

As much as I'd love a UCS Minas Tirith I really can't see it happening Think of how annoyed people would be if they couldn't afford one of the most memorable and important settings from LOTR I can see it being similar to Helms Deep with differnt walls and things that can connect together. Each wall having an individual feature like catapult or seige weapon But I think anything more than that is wishful thinking

I honestly dont know how all you guys are making out these details! I can't seeing any Eomer green for love nor money As as for differentiating between the helmets and new mold horses, can't see anywhere near the amount of detail to conclude that and I have every picture saved from the prelims onwards

OH MY GOODNESS! Sombody's been a bad boy Well its not much but boy do thoes sets look amazing!!! Helms deep is looking better and better!! Love the little side door Shelop is looking impressive too! Wasn't too sure about Moria, but thoes individual wall peices work well, and the troll! I did notice that we see legolas from the back and he has no quiver.... Another thing is hemls deep interior, the flag with the Rohan symbol on it, Finally the little skeleton with Weathertop, it bugs me what could be inside! Surprisingly the Monster Hunter sets look quite impressive

Really? Well I saw some pictures of some RC helicopters and cars from today on one forum EDIT: just read about the strict photoban, thoes crazy RC people, maybe the comapnies on that front arn't quite as bothered But it's nice to see shelobs face! Thanks!
