Cool topic, As LEGO is ever expanding their color selection over time, There are like 4 shades of brown today As for me here are my favorite 1. Dark Red 2. Dark Green 3. Dark Blue -Mac

In the beginning there was Town LEGO where there was nice little city cars and nice little hotels and construction sets, oddly enough shell was around before LEGO started their own fuel company "Octan: and caused a huge problems for LEGO city citizens as they actually had a choice on what gas they used! Later Won by Octan because they went green. (hybrids currently in development) All the minifigs had classic grin faces, no matter what happened to them! One day they decided to go where no minifig had gone before, Space! We had those lovely classic space sets in 1979 (30 years ago!) Galaxy Explorer,( the coolest ship name ever), its a Galaxy not planet explorer, obviously these minifigs were going places They set up bases and built rockets and drove around cute little space/moon buggys that had no suspension LEGO had gone to space and they liked it Fast-forward 30 years later and here we are today, I haven't seen anything decent in 10-20 years maybe We got Space Police 3 and last year had a Mars Mission Oh and one more thing I forgot to mention, Star Wars, for 10 years too Lego has taken aliens in a bad light, making them space criminals deserving to be put in little pods, they even did the unthinkable and stole the first LEGO astronaut! Last year they had the aliens home planet of mars mined for resources and the aliens be captured/killed and being dissected in every medical lab horror method possible Now enough of the boring story, what do you think? Has Lego Space gotten better? Is it getting better? Was it ever bad? I personally think that when the SW licenses eventually ends, we might see slightly better space themes, but LEGO will have to go back to the drawing board. They need to re- think back to when space was about exploration and fun, not capturing aliens and typing them as criminals and mining other planets.

Really great idea guys! Maybe something like 6613 Then of course I actually owned this one Great stuff! A Mail carrier would be very popular indeed

I saw these awhile back on the official LEGO website, yes they are cool little MINI's that I would place on my desk However the price is very high, and I will probably just download the instructions and build them myself The only one I would probably build would be the Seattle Space Needle which is my favorite of the bunch I definitely think they could continue with some of the other mentioned iconic places like the efiel tower and so on

Hehe, I only tried to sway popular opinion by a few lines Anyway, Marvel owned by Disney? Great, now LEGO, get a license deal, throw batman out (if they haven't already) Batman had a great run, we got a tumbler and some cool stuff Iron Man 2 is coming out in the future, I think making a license deal to make sets from the films would be a great start! Let the theme run for a year then discontinue and get another deal, I would be happy with such compromises

Great review! I noticed something new about the Galaxy Explorer, the yellow and black stripes on the wings, seems I have not noticed those before, as I do not own this set but would like to This is awesome for so many reasons If it was released as a legend I am not sure it would be practical because of all the newer sets and being so different and so advanced This along with the Beta command base and smaller ships would be the only classic space sets I would buy today because of their collective aspects as they are legendary If compared with the price point to parts it is crazy, with that same amount of money you look as what modern sets you can buy That is why I would only buy this because of it is like an artifact not because of new parts and detailed figs Classic Space Forever

The Cinema is brilliant A lot of people will likely chose it as their favorite One huge reason, I don't think we have ever seen a movie theater before in a set thus making it hugely popular In addition it is nicely designed and has some cool features on the inside

My first train I bought in 1999 (about 10 years ago) Nothing compared to some of the older train It was Railway Express 4561/4560 or the one that had track and a speed regulator I enjoyed watching go around the track and hearing the electronic hum of motor as it sped along Really a cool train still, great dining car and I loved how they were watching a space film hehe

This layout I think is your best one yet I find it hard to mix timeless classics like Main street with the newer stuff Mostly because building styles have changed, very much like LEGO cars vary, (why can't there just be one ) The farm is a nice addition, you wouldn't happen to have that wind turbine truck set? That would look cool in there Once again we see the smaller family farms are being crowded by the large city development Only suggestion or improvement I have would be to consider adding green baseplates under all the rail track and then use the empty space for trees and foliage (if you have enough that is)

This torso: From LEGO PaB online Also some other elements but don't deserve cool mention as the torso does

Store promos huh? Just so happens I have the instructions for the Honolulu promo I'm willing to share if anyone is interested? It is really cool and it would be quite nice to see everyone try and build it Tease On

Isn't having the monorail train going around in a circle (really big one ) enough? As for the massive setup, That is amazing! No wonder why when they came out I never could find any in the store Not a bad setup either, not much planning involved, they had all the track and connected it as they went along Just like me, I'm not really a layout person but for this you are going to need a huge town Thx for sharing

Awesome review Brickster! I didn't you are also a Space fan Oh how I love Classic Space The all time perfect LEGO space related theme Everytime I see one I want to buy them more and more, when compared to modern fang dangled sets with detailed figs and cool new accessories, they have nothing on Classic Space, simple beauty Maybe its the blue/grey/trans yellow color scheme Classic Space Forever

hmmm, ok guys I think we should continue this discussion somewhere else (like a secret fairy guild thread ) Or else one of the mods might notice I take 20% of the blame for bringing it up, but it was mostly a fairy mod who started it I also will have the last word, in the tag there is clearly wings! Ok now we are done

As of lately I have noticed a lack of Batman sets being made by LEGO, I wonder if they are making more or cutting the theme off (sorry batbrick, all good things come to an end, especially if its licensed classic: ) If they are cutting the theme and stopping production I am ok with that mainly because I am a Marvel fan (spiderman, ironman, etc) Now Batman was created by DC (obviously) So my question to everyone is: Would you prefer Marvel back or keep DC (Batman) around? My obvious choice would be Marvel Also I'm not saying Batman is being cut but if it is what do you think of it? Marvel Supremacy On

Online PaB or Retail store PaB? For LSAH they have a great selection to choose from Retail LEGO store PaB I think these would be nice additons (some are not online so good there too) Fish (I would grab alot) Apple Various female hairpieces Bikes (new colors) and various tree selections would also be nice Cows? That would be awesome but I doubt that will happen

Clever to soruce the link But why do I see wings? Or what looks like wings? And aren't winged ballerinas considered fairies?
-
Very Nice layout in the pic My only question is does the train when going downhill derail and fall off? One way I might prevent it would be to power in reverse to slow it down. Or do you only run it uphill in one direction so it never encounters that problem I also see you are using RC tracks, have you considered trying the new flexible track, because I never thought RC could be bent that way
-
Nice, I was sure they all couldn't be separate, nice deduction Thanks for confirming Is that the fairy guild tag? Its better than I expected , but how come only Stauder has it, I was never aware that he liked fairies too

I thought this was a pretty cool topic as it gives a peak into what the past EB was like and man was it different Here are five things I found interesting 1. There was a guest account anyone can use to post 2. The last post was marked unread (until now) 3. 5 years later and over 5000 members (that is over 1000 new each year) 4. Ask to be an admin and bam your admin 5. Obviously there wasn't much love for the fbtb

Is there a tag limit? On a profile page I see space for 3 tags, yet some have more The only reason I could think of is that each are not separate but are combined Which technically could mean that many more tags are possible
-
I have only had a simple circle track, which is nice because it doesn't need alot of space to set it up Room is very limited and I keep my trains not on a track, but on display, whereas I take out the track occasionally and run the trains Now as I wait to motorize my EN and order some additional track I have been busy wondering all the possibilities \ I now have decided to make this layout Would that be considered as a simple or complex? On a side note, I found ngltc very helpful for choosing layouts (Thx Brickster for those links )

I'm Back! Actually I have been back for a few days now I hope I see all my old friends around the forum! Oddly enough there are a-lot of new faces, but most seem pretty cool I hope to do my first review for the Reviewers Academy sometime in the following weeks Yes much patience is required as I am a very slow reviewer

Actually I didn't discover it all on my own I was talking about the EN with someone and I brought up that it looked early 1900s, then he said that no it was modern like and gave me the wiki link to it, and a train beginner like myself can't distinguish all train types except the most common ones No wonder why when I road on the real life one I sensed some similarity You busted my bubble Thanks for those awesome pics TaltosVT!!
