  1. Hey guys, thanks for all the great responses, I still found myself torn between the two though, there was alot of good arguments for and against and eventually I realized the only one to choose was both
  2. Yes I agree a Zoo would be very cool, but Wikipedia is not a trusted source because I could have done that . There are many great ideas here and we have posted many others in the "Ideas for new city sets" topic. The horse could pass as a zebra with the printing IMO. There is a large diversity of animals that already exists in LEGO, such as the elephants (which btw are about $20-$30 on BL) and others. Yes perhaps the collectible figs are a clue? The zoo keeper in Series 5 w/monkey ? Possibly. I do hope a zoo gets done, they did do a farm which is a nice change of pace, so a zoo subtheme. also I think a Safari theme would be cool too, there are some past ones like 6672.
  3. 7189 Mill Village Raid MISB for $50 (plus an extra $5 back for the I9 eBay promo. )
  4. 7189 Mill Village Raid
  5. 8404 Public City Transport or 7637 Farm?
  6. Donut Shop! $20+ 200+ parts Donut shop, delivery truck, baker, 1-2 customers, coffee machine/pink donut box/ etc actually there was three that didn't make it, the one we got wasn't the Monorail everyone was wanting/expecting
  7. Sounds great Although I have no experience or advice to offer, I can't wait to see the results
  8. Gender: Male Occupation/print on torso: Skin Diver/Spearfisherman/water camo print on torso/arms/legs Type of headgear: mask/helmet Type of facial expression: Smile Color on torso/legs: Camo water print Accessory: new speargun mold (butt of gun longer, like the SW long blaster)
  9. Well you could use the crane in either the 7939 or if you 7994 works pretty well for a cargo center. I myself am still hoping for a new Train Engine Shed, I wonder if TLG is aware of the popularity of the last?
  10. Thanks for your great in depth review! I noticed some new things that I liked, the roof of the cafe is built very well, it reminds of the same building technique from the 07 Fire Station. The printed parts are great! The stickers (which I know alot of people don't like applying), I think are awesome and really take this set to the next level. Imagery is so important and is everywhere in the world today. The larger zodiac boat is simple and looks great, the good thing with boats is they always have plenty of room for figs to fit in. However I don't really like the divers, the wetsuits have no gauges etc. However are fine for just plain wetsuits. Lime green and orange flippers make no sense and I have never seen those colors used ever in real application? Your whole outfit is supposed to blend with the ocean to not disturb the life so you can view it better hence why most dive gear is black or blue. I hope one day TLG does a camo print minifig in ocean blue for a nice Free Diver/spearfisherman, since they give you the speargun already. I wonder why they didn't give the lifeguard the Series 2 lifeguard float in a new color?? Also for the shop I would have liked to see some more inventory like the new smaller surfboard w/new imagery or plain. Overall this set had great potential, I voted for Average.
  11. hello there, I was wondering, exactly why do you need this?
  12. Thanks for another review! I actually like this set, sure it has some negatives but it looks good to me. I am happy that we get a new harbor as the last one is quite pricey now. The smaller boat is dwarfed by the cargo ship from 07 (which I don't really mind since it is a grain/other materials ship) The dock could have been raised to above the water line though?? The little truck is really nice. Again this set matches the upcoming Cargo Train very nicely. However I am saving this for TRU BOGO Day. is it 20% off at TRU USA right now?
  13. Hey thanks for this review! It has some good parts: - New civilian fig (windsurfer) a must have for me, I love that torso - new sail for windsurfboard - two surfboards - nice little dive shop - Paradise cafe is nice - the larger zodiac is good - Fig selection is great, 2 Civilians, 1 Lifeguard and 2 divers (which could be civilian as well) However some things that aren't great - looks very <insert that tiresome argument> - the whole idea of a marina on a peninsula is incorrect I think making it modular where you could attach dock sections would have improved it greatly, but oh well. Looking for this at TRU BOGO or similar sale.
  14. Thanks for answering guys! Yeah those floating bricks are strange. I ran into a new problem I can't seem to find these two parts This one and this one Help anyone?
  15. Well I decided to download LDD because it is an awesome tool. But I have a few questions: Does/can it generate building instructions? In the Expanded mode (with access to all the bricks) does the LDD Manager upload to Bricklink? It mentioned Universe mode, is that the same? Please and Thank you
  16. Very true. Btw guys, do you think the EN is a suitable WW Train? or is it from a different era altogether?
  17. Great work Brickminer! This is a really nice layout you have made. I spent a very long time pouring over the details, and then I clicked your BS gallery. Needless to say what happened next. Your new WW MOCs I was amazed at, the Brick World 08 layout was incredible! however one MOC is missing from your gallery, the Stagecoach? One thing I thought was funny was the custom cows and pigs, and now we have official ones Awesome work
  18. Hey Welcome back BrickMiner!( I missed this topic for some reason. but better late than never ) I lost the link for my avatar you did for me, if you remember It is nice to see you got hired at TLG!
  19. Well time for a few more ideas Beverage Truck: $9.99-$19.99 100+ parts Includes Beverage Truck 6 wide. Minifigs are the driver. Beverages include trans black cones (Pepsi/Coca-Cola). Also maybe a coca-cola promotional crate again? Or this truck could also be done co-branded (Like Maersk/Shell/Coca-Cola etc) Think this: (Inspiration: set 6500) Now for a subtheme idea, possibly a theme park sub theme, based off LEGOLAND, (they did a LEGO Truck etc) LEGOLAND: $100+ 1000+ Parts For this set it does not have to be crammed into one set, since it is a sub theme but it would consist of: Park Entrance, ticket office(s) (at least 2), small restaurant/shop, for a ride it could be a roller coaster based off one of the real ones. Smaller rides etc. Some add ons could be the Driving School, Boating School etc.
  20. I was disappointed that the BP had a lower price & part point than the QAR. If anything I would have liked it to be 1000+ parts. But we do know that it will around 800+. Very likely it will have Jack, Will, Elizabeth, I hope for some more soldiers/officers, even if they weren't in that scene, as well as a kraken similar to this in earth orange or similar color. Why? Because I think including the kraken is highly plausible. I agree, well built ship, and maybe 50-60 parts for a kraken. Like the giant squid I mentioned, would be fine for me. Yes I agree as well with this.
  21. Very nice, why can't American newspapers do these cool promos?
  22. The new grain harbor and the new upcoming cargo train with ballast loaders will look great together, I might have to make a few more to load the grain and don't forget the source from the farm!
  23. Awesome, are they replacing it in the production sets? like with the infamous double Obi Wan Head and the IFS with the admirals dress? :pir-wub:
  24. I remember when they were on clearance on LSAH for like $10 or so. You are right it is highly unlikely LEGO will ever make that track again, however it is possible they might make a plastic version of the simple 9v version
  25. That is quite good and clever use of the cooking pot I will have to make some of those for trains as well too.
