Probability of returning to Classic Pirates after POTC...
Piranha replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think they will return to classic Pirates after POTC. Personally because I see POTC as Indiana Jones or Batman, 1-3 waves. Just enough goodies and not to overkill it. (I still want an Interceptor though and Port Royal and or Tortuga) hehe Yes also I love all those parts you mentioned, the musketeer hat, rum bottle, islanders etc, now I am getting excited, so many possible Pirate sets. -
LEGO parts made of Chinese plastic?
Piranha replied to Henchmen4Hire's topic in General LEGO Discussion
there is only one problem, I know find myself paying $5+ shipping on the aftermarket for some of the figs, and yet they are still of a lesser quality. I would have been 100% fine with paying extra for something that is quality, it is quality over quantity for me. But I guess you get what you paid for. -
Great mod, I also would highly prefer to have all the equipment in the engine and not attached to any car. The only other solution would be to have a 9V setup and all I have is 15 curved, 2 straight, the power module and that is it, and 9v is expensive as well, and I already gathered alot of RC track. I also could gather the extra parts and make it exactly like the Maersk engine, but that is going to far off from the original, I like to keep it stock. I hope one day TLG releases a 2x2x2 LiPo battery, if phones can have very small and powerful batteries, I would pay extra to get the battery box much smaller maybe even $100 or so. Actually one day I hope they figure out how to have the IR, power source all included in the motor. so all we need to do is attach the motor and turn it on and then have a plug and play RC train, that would be the true replacement for 9V. But getting back to your mod I look forward to seeing the finished product, the only thing is the decals to cover up the battery box.

Drat I guess the battery box is going in a container in the next car like the EN has it in the coal tender. But I will need to wait for the red battery box so it will look like one of these containers here Then maybe a custom TTX sticker and it will look good.

Laid on its side too?

Well I just got 7939 Cargo Train and I am deciding on how to power it and which is the most economic, so I wondered what everyone else is doing? Do you use TLG's official rechargeable battery box? Or how about using the AAA Battery Box w/regular AAA Batteries? or should I be using the AAA box w/ rechargeable or lithium batteries? How much did it cost you? TLG: $75 (Box and charger and another $50 for each additional box) AAA Batteries: 6 needed for motor + 3 for remote, about $5-8 depending on brand \ Rechargeable AAA Batteries: $8+ for 4, so $30 + charger price which varies I will say $15+ Lithium Batteries: $10+

well I managed to buy 10133, and I can't wait to build it. I am now thinking about how to convert it to PF, I have an idea, can the battery box fit right here? Then connect the wires to the cabin where the IR receiver could be? then attach the motor to it?
-
Not even possible to hide the box in the drivers area? maybe it could be in the next car, as a cargo pallet or so?
-
Has anyone tried to do the BNSF in PF?
-
I would say the LEGO Store where I live is decent, I have found mermaid bits, S1 bits, and some rare kingdoms stuff like the Kings/Prince Torso. They even had Tritons one time, but I asked and they said they were from someone returning a set. I also found out that the display models get turned into grab bags.

Nice find! If only I could find stuff like this in my garage

I can't decide, each is a unique masterpiece, I want all three of them, yet I don't have any to compare The Super Chief is a very nice design and is extremely classic, so is the BNSF and has a beautiful color scheme of dark green and orange, very rare colors at the time, and the Maersk is just as nicely designed and has great colors too. It also has the benefit of two trailers and the little dock truck.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

We could also draw the conclusion that it will be black and probably have Jack But yes other than that a mystery. I wonder if it will be a TRU exclusive? also what is the long term life of this theme, 1-2 more years? I hope so, I would love to see the Interceptor. -
Look at what I found here True or not? let the discussion begin! EDIT: Credit: Brickset.com

I just got done building this set and I must say it is probably my favorite set of the year It was a load of fun to build, nothing repetitive and very satisfying. Oh how I love building buildings lol. The Wind Mill is brilliant, the blades really do spin, however the mechanism with the white round 1x1 baffles me, it shows to not shoot yourself in the eye, but when I turn it all it does it move back and forth??? There is a load of great parts in this set, I love all the earth colors of the nogut, dark tank and reddish brown. The barn is much bigger and better than I thought from the pictures, the weather vane mechanism is brilliant. Beware of how you tie the string, I couldn't get it perfect lol. The barn has plenty of room and lots of details and nice features and it is quite large and looks good. The little cart is very cool aswell, the barrel in dark brown is a plus. The farm animals included I think are stunning and fit in with all other LEGO animals to date. The goats and chickens were of softer plastic however. As was the pitchfork, sadly. The spotted pig is my favorite probably because it is solid nice plastic. I would like to gripe about the horse however, the blinders are good, but I wish they would have just given it the plain eye/pupil print instead, why? Because this is the first grey LEGO horse and the plain eye print would make it more useful for mounted knights and other theme use. The three new peasants are great detailing and printing. The only thing that was out of place to me were the Dragon Knights, but that doesn't matter all my Dragon Knights get converted to Vikings anyway Finally when I was done I wanted more, I want more peasant sets, like a house etc. This was a brilliant set I rate it outstanding and a 9.5/10 TLG give us more.

I doubt a LEGO Rep stocking the shelves at a TRU would know of any upcoming sets. It doesn't make sense since they just made the Petshop too. Exactly

It appears all POTC sets have been pulled from Barns and Noble.com, they only have the Cannibal Escape and it says "usually ships within 24hrs" does this mean the coupon code will work? (V7T4Y4X) will this mean they will be adding the other sets later? -
Outback Airstrip would be a good start, do you have the current airport, that plane would just need a few decals for Qantas

Hey thanks for this review Reminds me of the old castle sets from the late 80s early 90s The blacksmith has printed legs! It is worth it just for the chicken and bucket! I voted Above Average!
