Piranha replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great guide I will be sure and use this as a reference often. -
Hey quit trolling our topic. j/k

wait there is a new quiver part that holds a bow?

Great ones posted everyone, these are my two favorite so far, I thought of two more both from set 7419 Dragon Fortress Guardian has Batlord Helmet Jing Lee the Wanderer's torso has a Chinese character that means "The Middle Kingdom" or so

I do like that idea and would be a great opportunity for a new monorail.

For a fun topic I thought it would be fun to discuss and share of any LEGO Easter Eggs in sets. So do you know of any? Popsicle in 7879 Classic Space Statue in 5974 I had known a few more but I am still thinking of what they were.

great MOC here, this was my first idea too when I saw the Grain hopper and the Harbor set. Now I just need to pick up both.

Congrats to the winners!

I think I figured out why no space this year, I heard they are coming out with a licensed theme called "Star Wars". Like what happened to Pirates II and Kingdoms from LOTR and POTC. All joking a side Star Wars has been the dominate space related theme although the space themes are getting better.

I actually think they messed up from the start, countless delays that added up to almost 2 years when combined, having to purchase a $50 CD then a monthly subscription thereafter to a consumer base not used to subscription based games. Not having a free to play from the start, not making sets, etc the list goes on and on. The last ditch efforts to save it by lowering the price and free to play by then it was already too late I think. A shame really I did like a lot of the concepts featured in the game.

Thanks the review This is my favorite of the Police Forest subtheme and mainly because it has a strong civilian presence. The log cabin has a nice facade but the interior is lacking and too much room was used for the hot rod garage. I think they should have done an interior and had the hot rod separate. As for the vehicles, the Hot rod is meh I don't really like it at all. The trike I was never a fan of prefer the classic city motorcycles. The 4-Wheeler is good and after removing the blue and lights will be a nice civilian truck. As for the minifigs they are alright not my thing as I am more of a city civilian collector. The true star is the bear . I am very happy that I don't have to get the large police set or Bricklink it. There are also some good parts that are included in this set. I think the bear is a good perquisite to the upcoming LOTR horses. They will be the same style I think i.e the head and rear legs will be able to move but the front legs will probably be in a static "motion" pose. 3.8/5

What minifigs are we missing - post your detailed suggestions here
Piranha replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah often Forestmen are portrayed as the "Heroic" characters or faction with all the legends etc, this minifig would be of the more "marauding band" type. Not potryaed as Heroic but as a bandit. -
Wow they did go all out on that video, I assume to prevent further back lash from angry fans.

Agreed that is pretty lame.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Piranha replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I would say it is semi on topic due to the fact that when Series 5 came out, Series 6,7 and 8 were already confirmed but since then we hadn't gotten any further updates past Series 8 so speculation on whether this is the last is reasonable. -
Toronto Teens launch Minifig into SPACE
Piranha replied to Si-MOCs's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow this is a cool story. reminds me of biff. -
I would pick the Robber's Hideout but that is just me, I love that bear mold and the Batman rehashes are average.

Thanks for the review. I never seem to get any of the VIP emails but I contacted TLG and now I hope I will in the future.

Hmmm it is still down today.

Could this be a new "golden age" of LEGO train?
Piranha replied to DaddyDeuce's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think you misunderstood my post. What I was saying was that when TLG decided to discontinue 9v Trains there was huge uncertainty and unrest. Then in 2006 they released the RC system, I thought it was a neat idea but very poor execution and only two sets and track were released. Not counting the Hobby Train (I count that as more of a Creator set than part of the Train theme) they didn't make any new Trains until 2009 with the Emerald Night (which I would consider a D2C set) and in 2010 they finally released SYSTEM Trains. Folllowed up by the Maersk and Red Cargo Train. All of those trains were based on the PF system. PF was unproven with the Emerald Night, no one wanted to spend $250+ to make a running train, so TLG worked on it and gave us more affordable PF's Trains providing you happen to have the batteries. Now the PF system is getting better and it has it flaws and downsides but also many positives. I can't wait to see what train sets they are working on next. What I am saying is that since the discontiuantion of 9v Trains we hadn't seen a real strong lineup of Train sets until now. IMO the Maersk and Emerald are better and more complete train sets than the stand alone BNSF and Super Chief. Again I wouldn't label this as the "golden age" of Power Functions maybe a bronze age. Again nothing has come that can compare to the "golden age" of 9v or even 12v Trains. But we are talking about a different era here, the Power Function Era and IMHO it is off to a great start. -
Thanks I will be sure and pick up a few in a future parts order.

there is a plume in black? Interesting I need a few now for my new Black falcons and the Falcon Knight from the Kingdoms Joust, Dark green is the Dragons color. All I remember is original black plume wheels cost a fortune, glad they made the new plume in black. Wish I knew because I just placed and paid and shipped a large castle order recently.

One day I was thinking of a reply of "why do you like collectible figs" topic and I thought that they are cool because every new series we get 16 new minifigs, some that would work well in existing themes and others from completely new concepts like Circus, Greek, Roman etc. That is what I think makes them so extremely popular. Then I got to thinking what if TLG did a theme of one off sets? Now I know this might sound a bit quirky, but just think about it every wave or series there could be maybe 5 or so sets not large or small, maybe 200 or so parts, each is unique and not related to the other except by maybe packaging and the whole theme it would come under. And no I know what you are thinking of and this is not an idea for time cruisers again . For example lets say in the first releases we had these sets; Western Bank Greek Battle Circus Scene Space Ship Forestmen Forest I think the real possibility is sort of testing the market with all these different theme ideas without having to commit to an overall large theme with multiple sets but one off ideas. That would be a great way to do a lot of theme concepts that many have been hoping for to come someday. I think they would sell pretty well. The beauty would be that the set ideas are limitless like collectible figs. This would provide complimentary sets as well as new ideas. What do you think? Whacky idea or next big thing? CLOSED: Basically CM sets, better to imagine your own.
