  1. I picked up all four sets today (for a whopping $274 thanks to ToysToysToys' markup), and have yet to get to building the sets. I have, however, got the figs out of the sets and I must say they are brilliant. Azog, Thranduil and Beorn are the shining stars of the wave, with Radagast and Stephen Fry tagging along pretty damn close. The new orcs are also nice, but shoulder armour for all of them would've looked better. The ones without look unfinished or something. The Elves are also really nice, and look great next to Tauriel. Bard and the Laketown Guard are both awesome, and I personally like Bard better (likely because he's more of an important character). The Necromancer gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand, he feels bare and boring. Yet on the other hand, his simple look makes him feel more ghostly and menacing, as he should be. I think this, like I've mentioned before, is because of the direction PJ and Co. took the character. Can't wait to get building. I'll post my thoughts on the finished sets tomorrow.
  2. So I haven't really given my two cents in a while. It's great to see this sets out and about. Not much new has come about from the new images, just better quality. I have a feeling that I'm gonna get the sets today, so I'll give more of a full opinion on the finished sets tonight or tomorrow. The only criticism I'll give right now is on the Necromancer. While it's nice to get a seriously important, threatening villain in the Middle-Earth theme, the fig himself is unfortunately underwhelming in comparison to, say, Azog. Then again, that's what PJ did, and he seems to know what he's doing.
  3. I'm really excited for this, although it worries me that they're releasing it before the trilogy is done. Hopefully the pre-order has some great fig. Perhaps Galadriel?
  4. LEGO has outdone themselves on these sets. The figs are absolutely stellar. The clones and Wookiees are definitely the best figs of the wave. The sets themselves are pretty cool. Lots of army building potential.
  5. That is a really f**ked up thing to say...
  6. The only thing that new about Anakin is his face print. Hopefully the other side has a similar expression but with no headset. Also, I find it hilarious how LEGO seems to think ROTS Anakin has the same hair as CW Anakin. They should be giving ROTS Anakin reddish brown hair like the new AOTC Obi-Wan. It's so much more appropriate to the character.
  7. I won't enjoy the film less. It's just a shame that Disney couldn't keep to the May release pattern.
  8. That was my first thought, and I'm genuinely upset by it. Sure, Disney is brilliant to take advantage of the Xmas season, but it is a set tradition. I've always associated Star Wars with summer time and LOTR with winter due to the times of year they were released. This will feel different.
  9. December 18th 2015! Mark your calendars! http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-vii-to-open-december-18-2015.html
  10. With the news that Ep. 7 is being released in December 2015, LEGO is gonna have to change their release pattern for Star Wars. As of right now, 2014 is all good. January wave we already know, news of summer 2014 should be popping up soon. Then we have January 2015, which is the last chance for LEGO to give us sets based on the PT or OT before they begin focusing all their efforts on the new films. I wonder if we won't see sets in summer 2015, and just get a huge summer sized release in December.
  11. The bow, to me, is the highlight of the set. But I also loved Brave, so getting an official Merida fig is really awesome.
  12. This ties in to the fact that we desperately need a new Cantina set. That set would give us so many new fig opportunities, like Ponda Babba, Bith, Dr. Evazzan, and an updated Ben Kenobi.
  13. Oh my goodness! This is one of my favourite games ever! If LEGO made this, I would be ridiculously happy! I will support this!
  14. PJ released this just a few minutes ago. Its the closing credits song for DOS, courtesy of Ed Sheeran.
  15. I think we need to see an updated Kit Fisto. With the release of the new AOTC sets, his simple print and lack of a unique colour scheme makes him look out of place next to the new Jedi figs. Also, a new head would be better, as well as him being olive green.
  16. I like them. They all have a feeling of immense creativity and imagination, along with an amazing amalgamation of multiple themes. I love the new moustache on the Western bot, and Wyldstyle's hood is really cool. I'll only likely get a few of the sets, along with all the CMFs. Also this is only 8 sets, plus the 2 we've seen before. That is 10 of the supposed 17 sets planned. So we should see more sets unveiled.
  17. Picked up the new Gunship yesterday. Streets ahead of the 2008 version. The new Anakin is probably my favourite PT fig ever.
  18. From what we've seen so far of this wave, I think these sets are gonna be amazing! Tarfull and Chewie are fantastic, and I've been waiting for so long for LEGO to finally update their Wookiee molds. The clones looks ridiculously good as well, and the fact that we are getting army builders for both Kashyyk and Utapau is astounding. To me, this wave will finally give ROTS the epic attention it deserves. When should we expect to start seeing official images?
  19. Do people think these figs will have back printing? For the most part, previous CMF series figs don't get back printing, but since these figs tie in with the film and other sets, do you think they'll get special treatment?
  20. After watching the new trailer and seeing these sets, my excitement is through the roof! While the designs are kinda outrageous (Lord Business), this feels like the first truly 'original' LEGO theme in a long time. It pulls concepts from all sorts of stories and real life people, but does it in such an original way. I truly believe this will be the beginning of the LEGO Movie Universe, and we'll see plenty of sequels and sets in the years to come.
  21. Well this wave is amazing. So many new molds and prints from across all sorts of themes (particularly some nice Wild West outfits). I might try to get all of these.
  22. Michael Myers. I'm going to a party and my plan is to scare the crap out of everyone!
  23. I haven't kept up with this thread, but those sets look awesome! I'm a sucker for classic Disney, and I may need to pick most of these up.
  24. All the armour they wear is found in Erebor, not fitted to each dwarf. They scavenged and found what suited them best.
  25. LEGO handled the dwarf issue tactfully. They spent the first wave giving us the whole group, which made room for them to give us the secondary characters presented in DOS. Much like the book, the only dwarves who are of any significant mention are Thorin, Fili, Kili, and Balin. The third wave for TABA will hopefully include variants of these dwarves, along with possible variants of other secondary characters (Thranduil, Bard and Beorn), which would give us a nice, well-rounded collection.
