Is It Still Worth Getting The 2015 Toa?
MrHerofan replied to Chilly_Productions's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Yeah I would say get them. While the 2016 toa have cooler gimmicks, with the Uniter forms, the 2015 toa, are more unique and have this simplicity that 2016 doesn't have. They look great together and with all the other sets, man what a great lineup. Legoshop@home had like the entire winter wave 50% off earlier in the year, so you could try and see if they have any left. -
The summer sets are pretty nice, the Jakku set is alright, but the Tie Fighter set is for me. The 2009 model was my first LEGO Star Wars set, so the new version will definitely bring back some nice memories. The X-Wing is looks really nice, and Rex's AT-TE looks like such a fun set. Overall this summer wave looks much more fun than last years.

Well thinking about Umarak a little bit more, perhaps his hands shape to form Shadow traps so when he grabs his enemy, the shadow trap wraps around a hand or something else. It could be a pretty cool idea to see against some of these toa.
-
Well if Umarak can possibly spawn shadow traps, maybe he can also generate the best's from within him as well, like Cell and Cell Jr.'s. The animation to me still looks to green screen, but I'm slowly getting used to it. The videos are interesting, and hopefully they don't blow the show.

Well Ekimu to me is still just meh. I never liked the idea of him going Toa so seeing it happen is off putting. The Beasts are alright, their heads will take some getting used to, but they seem to be really fun toys. Umarak, like many have mentioned, is the highlight of this wave, but he still has issues. Those ribcage pieces are too high for me, and the black on his horns is off putting to me. Overall I do like these sets, and they leave a good impression, better than the skull villains.

It makes sense why they would not reveal the sets, but like most people, I don't care about those sets. Oh well, was hoping to see Rex's AT-TE, but alas New York better not let us down.

Well I didn't have much of an opinion on these sets in the first place because I'd know they would change but man! Umarak looks so cool! From his big, brute, bulky nature, to being so big, it's nice to see larger CCBS sets, even if they are few. The only thing that bothers me is his that the connections for his horns weren't recolored to make the transition better. Also in his hunter form, I thought his legs looked incomplete, while here they look more complete to me. The beasts I can't really get a read on them right now, but they seem cool enough. The heads I don't really have an opinion of yet, because of how far away they are, but I'm sure I'll grow to like them. Definitely left a better impression than the skull villains. Now I never really liked the idea of Ekimu being a toa figure, or character. I always saw him as being a turaga for G2. He looks cool enough, but I'm biased against him right now, because of how I see him as a character. Though if he is to go up against Makuta next year an upgrade is what he deserved. The blended masks to me are alright, the toa ones are not as great compared to last year, but Umarak's wants me to recolor his hunter form from green to red. Overall though, these sets have left a better impression on me than last years skull villains did. Makes me want to go out and get the winter wave right now.

I think I've realized my problem with the animation. It looks like the toa are on a green screen. Just the way the background and toa interact is just strange to me. I like their movements and all, they look pretty accurate, the shading is good and all, but something seem off to me.

I know that LEGO is just doing the theme to just do it, but even with the first hero factory series or the first four episodes of Ninjago when it got released, looked like they had a bigger budget than this. It is unfortunate that the theme seems to be getting less love than others.
-
Well the sets definitely sound great! I still need to get the winter wave, but I'm in no rush right now. Really can't wait to see these with other lego sets in the coming toy fairs.

I don't think that people really focus all of their time on LEGO when they say "Dark Ages". I'm sure they still do more stuff with their lives and in the spare time or whatnot they spend some time messing with their LEGO collection. As a Dark Age I'm sure they mean that they just don't have any interest with the toy at all. Remember it's possible to have a life and be a fan of LEGO when you are a younger person. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now as for me, I sometimes will go into a period of possibly months where I'll ignore the toy and not really pay attention to them for that time, until I see some new set online or of the like.
-
I don't know, it almost seems unfinished for me. I've seen it twice and I get the feeling that the budget on this show is smaller than that of most LEGO shows. Like the narration felt very generic and while the movements are good, it still looks unfinished to me.
-
Yeah definitely amazing, only thing I'd do differently is add more green for the Kylo and Rey scene. Like this is what the set should have been more like. This doc has all the moments in it that it's impressive. Again great job man!

It's really sad to hear some of these stories. It must have hurt to hear, that, like why can't some lego fans appreciate both types of lego? While there are some really great system people out there, when it gets to constraction they talk about it as if its a small kids toy, as if the system brick is anything else.
-
Well at some point you get used to it. There is nothing wrong with people disliking a theme, but I've never noticed this many people not caring at all about it. While system is really good, they should be able to show some respect to constraction.

I can't really blame people if they aren't covering everything. The sets do look pretty meh, like while I love G2, there isn't much for it to stand out. The story being even more simplified, has to be a joke. Man Bionicle just seems to have been brought back to shut people up.

Do you guys think that bionic is selling well? Like the U.S.A. version of legoshop@home sold basically the entire winter wave at half price, and I know LEGO doesn't put sets on sale unless they aren't selling well. I fear that Bionicle might even be cut short a year at this rate. It is rather unfortunate that construction in these past years hasn't been that eye catching like it used to be.

The last version was $30 and if this set comes with an A-Wing as well. Yeah, don't be fooled to think that this is $30. Unless the model is really small, in which case that would be a waste.
-
With passing wave and news article, it really does seem like Bionicle will end with its third year. It's a shame that a theme that I enjoyed so much for years, is getting shafted, and from how the U.S.A. version of lego.com had almost the entire winter wave at half price. Ugh, bioincle's glory days are ended with G1.
-
Well I bought the whole line of sets last year and I'm more than likely going to do so this year. Even though Bionicle doesn't seem to be Lego's largest theme, their distribution might be quite iffy. I really do like the look of the sets and when I get them in hand I'll probably enjoy them a lot more. To me the waist articulation is the best thing that lego could have done. It adds so much personality, to the figures, although the arms are to short.

Have you ever felt judged for liking LEGO?
MrHerofan replied to Chilly_Productions's topic in Community
Well I don't really talk about LEGO that much and when I do buy a set I do get a stare sometimes from the cashier, but I ignore it. One time when I was buying a transformer a little girl looked at me as if she was questioning why I was buying a toy. My family don't care that much, since I really only get the sets I think look cool, and not much city stuff. My father likes seeing the larger Star Wars sets, and my mother could care less if I was into Lego or not. Again at the end of the day it is just a toy, I don't buy a lot of it or have a room devoted to it, just the occasional purchase.- 107 replies

So have any of you guys ever gotten a little sick of all the superhero movies? I used to be excited for AOU but when I rematched the first Avengers and GOTG I couldn't help but fall asleep. Then I saw Ant-Man and I really enjoyed the film, so I guess I'm curious how many of you are still invested in the whole super hero thing.
-
Well to me if it's a movie you have to at least wait a month because there are people who are busy and don't have the time to sacrifice on a movie right away. Although since this is Star Wars if people still haven't seen it then it's their own problem that they have been spoiled. It has been a month, the holiday's happened, like they've had time. Maybe in some way make note of it containing spoilers, but not have it take up half of the paper.
-
Well there those prelim pictures are prelims so I can't really judge, but that TIE advanced I am so getting. Darth Vader's TIE from 2009 was my first Lego Star Wars set so there would definitely be some great memories from that set. I don't care for the turbo tank, since the prequel era is over, but I might get it since I enjoy larger vehicles. The new X-WIng is just like I expected it to be. The other sets, while they look cool, just don't do that much for me.

That's pretty cool to have the labyrinth be out on it's own island. I wonder how Umarak gets there, unless he makes a boat made out of shadow traps,
