  1. The patrols returning from maneuvers in the west of Briolui had uncovered a series of points (Grid E5) through which light troops might be able to effect a ground strike into Refnor or Erotema. As plans took shape squds were tasked to reinforce some of these areas and bridging materials were brought in to facilitate higher speed deployment at a later time. Although these areas were lightly reinforced the likelihood was that the enemy wouldn't be able to bring any heavy equipment or armour to bear either. CP1-Overview by Phadeout, on Flickr The trees and other dense foilage on the other side of the river has been cut down to improve sight line for the defenders but not so much that an enemy advance would notice the claymores wired in to tear apart a charging infantry force. CP1-Mines by Phadeout, on Flickr A fair selection of weaponry is on hand to resist any enemy advance, with both anti-armour and anti-infantry CP1---Position by Phadeout, on Flickr At this stage in the conflict the troops are already well versed in catching breaks when you can! CP1---Break by Phadeout, on Flickr A small group of the troops have the high ground to see the enemy coming from as far afield as possible and to give cover to their squad mates if required. CP1---Outcrop by Phadeout, on Flickr The troops are hoping to be given the order to advance but for now will be holding this position. Thanks for viewing :)
  2. That is top drawer, I really enjoyed it, I was looking at it for several minutes and had to fire up the laptop to get a better look which, if you know how lazy I am, is praise indeed! The overall effect is so realistic in terms of detail and composition - very glad we are on the same side soldier :)
  3. There is no mistaking the effort put in here, the pictures in the spoilers are the more impressive to me as you can see the effect of the whole build, sometimes bigger is better! :) good job.
  4. I think you are supposed to but the country you represent in the title too. I like the build I know you are away from most of your bricks at the moment but you still got some good stuff done here. I like the indiana Jones torsos, they'll look really good en masse swarming enemy positions ;)
  5. Thanks everyone, I'm trying out as many different types of build as I can and obviously I'm sure this will be one of many builds featuring natural elements so I'm pleased to have the praise from you all. @Mesabi with you on that. Will be fun to add some carnage to these type of builds as we go!
  6. This is a great build, there are loads of individual aspects in the detail that could be pointed out but maybe the fairest things to say is that as a whole it comes together so well it is hard to point out individual parts for praise. The extra details here and there add so much, great job!
  7. Love it @Faladrin really has a good busy feel and the individual parts are all very nice. As always the touches of humour are well done. Great job.
  8. Not short on manpower the Briolui military machine sent a number of small groups in the mountains near their borders with Refnor and Erotema to scout the area for possible staging areas and routes that could be used to allow access deeper into enemy country should the need arise. The terrain seen here isn't too hostile but further into the mountains things would become more challenging undoubtedly.. gbwtm1_5 by Phadeout, on Flickr It was also thought to be a good opportunity for infantry troops to gain some alpine training, with several mountainous regions in the possible conflict zone it was deemed a worthwhile and relatively low risk exercise before any serious hostilities erupted. Every advantage gained now could pay for itself many times over when the sides warring groups met head on. gbwtm1_7 by Phadeout, on Flickr gbwtm1_2 by Phadeout, on Flickr gbwtm1_6 by Phadeout, on Flickr All the action here takes place in E5 for those interested, whether or not these troops had crossed any borders, well that would be telling...
  9. A: 1 - 6 - 10 B: 3 - 5 - 6 C: 2 - 8 - 1 D: 10 - 6 - 2 Fantastic work everyone, wish I had seen this sooner I'd have loved to join in!
  10. I love the axe/wing mirrors! - the overall build is really nice and looks suitable for its task. Nice job with the base which I also really like, it's an often neglected part of the build and you have helped "frame" the FPV-L.
  11. OOC I've either voted three times and can't tell or i haven't voted at all, I suspect the latter. IC Obviously Briolui is firmly behind the ban, glad to see political difference s put to one side for this weighty matter!
  12. This is Thierry Laurent bringing you the morning news update here on Briolui Breakfast. Newsdesk1 by Phadeout, on Flickr We are going straight to our reporter in the field, Marie Duchamps, who has breaking news from our capital, Vieuxfort. Marie, what do you have for us? Reporter by Phadeout, on Flickr Thank you, Thierry, we are here in the quartier des ponts, behind me armed forces, seemingly led by a member of the usually secretive Military Intelligence, have arrested a man known to originally be from Refnor but living here in Briolui for over ten years on what appears to be a series of charges related to an attempt to assassinate a top military figure. Further details are unavailable at this time, but it is clear that a weapon appearing to be some form of sniper rifle has been removed from the property as well as a laptop and other devices. If this is the case can we assume that he was an agent operating at the request of his government or a lone terrorist? There are many questions and it seems Military Intelligence will not be making an official statement at this time but I suspect we will hear more about this later today. Arrest1 by Phadeout, on Flickr Thank you Marie, well even with all the facts still to be released we can expect an increase in the tension between the native people of Briolui and the not inconsequntial number of residents originally from Refnor, and indeed Filace. Speaking as an individual I would urge citizens to be vigilant but remember that the vast majority of the people of these countries are hard-working, honest folk, albeit the ones from Refnor are normally a little bit stupid and only really useful for manual labour. And now sport. Full shot of the build Arrestoverview by Phadeout, on Flickr
  13. Briolui Ambassador to the Brick of Nations, Aymeric Devereux. BoN-Representative by Phadeout, on Flickr Fellow representatives, although war looms and we may not all call each other friends I ask that we unite behind a single purpose for something of great significance to our world and our way of life. Although all methods of war cause destruction there are weapons of such potential power that they would change the face of this planet if used. I refer to the possibility of nuclear weapons and chemical and biological weapons that kill indiscriminately over a huge area and pose a massive threat to civilians across the world. Please join with me in passing a motion to prevent the use of such weapons or the implementation or continuation of the development of programmes designed to create this type of weapon. Conflict will remain in our world and war seems inevitable but we should always strive to protect the innocent from harm, conventional weaponry is destructive enough, there is no need to risk the stability of the entire world trying to harness things we do not understand and may not be able to control.
  14. Very nice, I know what dvd I'll be watching tonight now :) I really like the colour choices, enough variety to be keep things interesting without overpowering the build. The natural shadows work well too creating a good atmosphere throughout. By all means keep telling yourself it's a Briolui superweapon doing this, should cause some issues with morale I'll be happy to exploit from the other side of the jungle ;)
  15. I do like the comic book style, you do that really nicely, the captioning and the font used are great. There are some really nice features in the build but some of the shots would probably benefit from a little bit less in them. It gets quite crowded and the decorations can be a bit overwhelming. Personally I'd prefer to see all fleshies or all yellow faces but that isn't the end of the world. Looking forward to more in the story, good job.
  16. Briolui seconds the motion for Toohati joining the republic of Nations.
  17. Briolui Ambassador to the Brick of Nations, Aymeric Devereux. BoN-Representative by Phadeout, on Flickr "With a heavy heart but a steely resolve shared by all the peace loving people of our land I announce the nation of Briolui declares war on both the aggressors of Filace and their pets in Refnor. Let us be clear, Briolui has suffered the first casualties in this war but they will not suffer the last! With our allies in Toohati and support from our brethren in the Republic of Nations we will fight on until the capitulation of our adversaries - look to your borders Filace and Refnor, you will see us soon."
  18. I'd also imagine it is possible to build treads in LDD. There are suitable components in Lego, I would think they are in LDD it would just take time to attach all the links together. Brick mania has a set they sell, you could look at that and work out how it would fit together.
  19. It's screaming a training montage to me.... @Maxim I loving the flag. Must get on photoshop tomorrow.

  21. Private, 1st class, Benedict Grimm, reporting in for Briolui. Benedict Grimm by Phadeout, on Flickr A failed musician, scored highly in evaluative tests for mental fortitude and tactics, less well in playing nicely with others.
  22. At Kai, tried a few options with the water before this (couldn't find my bag of 1x2 trans light blue tiles which would have been the first option) but appreciate the cc - it all helps!
  23. Hojaroja, Otoño, the Prio Seas, March 617 HojarojaEp1_1 by Phadeout, on Flickr Alejandro felt the rowboat jar against the sands and come to a halt. He could see the Eslandian soldiers waiting on the beach, the commanding officer looking put out but well-presented and his men equally well turned out and alert. With Nacho he disembarked and walked through the sands towards them, seeing the letter in the officer’s hand and knowing that the orders had arrived before him. The officer would be unsettled, knowing that a civilian had effectively taken over the operations on Otoño, as Hojaroja, the only settlement of any size at all, and the scattered holdings on the island had previously been under a form of martial law due to the strong local Mardier presence. The MCTC had been resolute though, it was time for a sign that Eslandola wasn’t in going to sit back in the Prio seas, they were looking to expand their influence, the reports of unusual, and therefore hopefully precious minerals in the soil would be invaluable for the war effort and, as long as the troops could protect the settlement, Hojaroja could become a thorn in the side of the Mardier war machine, forcing them to engage another threat and spreading themselves thinner and thinner again. HojarojaEp1_2 by Phadeout, on Flickr Alejandro paused in front of the officer who cleared his throat, and with an almost imperceptible nod of the head said “Don de la Calle, Otoño and Hojaroja are honoured to have you here to assume governance of the settlement, I am Capitan Henrique Velasquez and am at your service, and I trust your journey was satisfactory.” “The journey was fine, I understand however the reason for me rowing ashore from a mile out is because you were concerned about the possibility of a Mardier assassin attempting to remove me from my role before I had even begun. Is the island so unsafe?” “We had received intelligence that an attempt was being planned, we used a decoy on El Heraldo de Oro and we succeeded in flushing out the agent, he will be interrogated and we hope to gain information about Mardier plans in the area and also how they knew of your arrival so far in advance. Rest assured that your safety is of paramount importance to us.” Velasquez turns to his aide saying “Escort Don de la Calle to his residence and make sure he has everything he needs I will return to the fort and try to get some answers from our new friend from Mardier.” “Lead on, Lieutenant, it has been a long day and I think I will save the full tour for the morning.” With that Alejandro and Nacho followed the soldier through the tree line and on to Hojaroja.
  24. Nope, Gold Wing went treasure hunting and was never seen again a couple of months ago - sad, she had over-performed for months but her time was up :(
  25. El Heraldo de Oro for Double Duty II please and thank you.
