I wasn't planning on buying any of the clone wars sets, but that spider droid sure is making it difficult for me to resist, and if I have that of course I need an AT-AT and a republic gunship... Anyone want to buy a kidney*? It's the only way I'm going to afford all of these. *Note this is not a serious offer, if it was it would be in the buy, sell and trade forum.

Anyone Aussies have news of what's on sale in the David Jones/ Myer stocktake sales which started last night? Although the sale has started, the online catlogue (for Myer, don't know about DJ's) isn't available yet. But in other Australian news, K-mart has another 15% off sale starting tomorrow.

Have you got a link that goes to the actual item rather than just everything listed for sale?

lamanda2, they are brilliant, I'm in awe! Now I just need to think of an excuse to get some!

What is the weirdest place you build lego?
Hewman replied to THE-FORCE's topic in General LEGO Discussion
and even weirder looks when your girlfriend turned up as the other customers couldn't believe such a 'freak' could get a girlfriend I sometimes play with minifigs in meetings at work, of course I just hang my head, and play with them under the table, technically it counts as building as I sometimes swap body parts. It's a great way to give a colleague a giggling fit when they're supposed to be all serious, -
2008 Exclusives turn up on "Replacement parts" page
Hewman replied to sam89's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I for one haven't seen these actual pics, nice find! I love the colours of the car but I'm not used to the bumpiness of the studs yet, it's a very traditional build which I'm sure will appeal to plenty of people. -
Agents Mission 5: Turbo Car Chase - set #8634
Hewman replied to Deinonychus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great review and fantastic pics, Deinonychus. And a big thank you to whoever pointed out that you could use the sound brick for Arkham Asylum, my addled brain didn't make the connection. The car is just beautiful, and with a good use for the most expensive part of the gate, this is on my wish list for sure, just have to see how much cash is left over after buying the new death star in a month or two. Agents has to be the biggest surprise from Lego for ages, without any pics it sounded so-so, but they've done a brilliant job with it, love those metallic coloured pieces! -
New Line of Impulse sets available S@H
Hewman replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
With the strong Aussie $, this actually makes them cheaper in the UK! -
I actually have a Blacktron 1 version, it's just not in that folder, it is predominantly black with some yellow and trans yellows and reds. Take a look at my blacktron 1 classic space page (if you like!) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=257141 Cheers Matt

My guess is that the gold emblem will be more durable than it was on the old classic space figs. This is based on several modern figs having metallic gold on them that doesn't seem to wear off as easily as the old classic space figs' gold did.

Oh yeah, the Star Justice sets do have lots of stickers too but they're not as busy looking as the MM ones. It's not the stickers per se (although give me printed bricks any day and I'll pay extra) but the design of the stickers that I don't particularly like. That and all the Martian ships are not appealing at all to me. But I'm very happy TLC has brought space back!

OK, so these don't involve any great level of creativity, but I think they look nice. So here's a link to my brickshelf folder http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=242618 There's still a few more I haven't taken pics of but I will add them over the next few days. If anyone wanted to by one, I have a few of them for sale on bricklink, but I started this topic to share them, not to sell!
-
I voted for a new them because 1. I'm not a big fan of trans orange and white and 2. with the stickers everywhere it just looks a bit too busy. I much prefer the more classical look of the Factory Star Justice set (so I'm fortunate to have that choice). But on a positive not for the Mars Mission sets, they are at least improving the Martian minifigs. And as someone that grew up in the classic space era, I think if the kids like Mars Mission, they should keep it, because it was the sets from my childhood that re-kindled my interest later in life.

What do you think of the return of the small vehicles?
Hewman replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah more of them would be great, but I guess they need the right source material to base them on, off the top of my head I can't think of too many OT ships that fit this design. Although I'm sure someone more knowledgable than me will be able to correct that. Oh a new twin-pod cloud car would be great, that fits in with the size. -
Price drop on Star Justice and Space Skulls - S@H
Hewman replied to Svelte's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Don't ge tme started on S@H shipping cost, it's almost the same price to get stuff shipped from starwarsshop.com and then I get to pay in the much cheaper US$ prices. -
Toys R Us Australia have the large new Indiana Jones Temple (7627) for $120, that's $30 off RRP, if that's what you're into.

Price drop on Star Justice and Space Skulls - S@H
Hewman replied to Svelte's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
thanks for the news. Definitely worth considering now. Hopefully this more accurate exchange rate is reflected in the to be released death star. Well a boy can dream. -
Actually it's one of the most common, black is the really rare one, probably followed by white.
-
I just noticed it said "Vol. 1" on the packet so maybe we will get a better assortment with future volumes, an old castle fig would be great and maybea fig from a newer space theme.
-
I only ever get multiples of small sets, eg SW battle packs and some of the smaller castle ones. the first I keep as a whole set, opened and played with, the second is for minifigs, horses etc. and only if there's a part of the set I really love does it get the chance to avoid the parts pile.
-
Someone already has them on bricklink, but I'm not paying $30 for it, I'm sure that's way above RRP. Given at least one person has multiple copies, I guess it can't be long before they're widely available.

Check this out In a set that's being released this year us space nuts can get our hands on new red classic space minifigs! But it looks like the helmet is the new style, but still, new classic space torsos is fantastic!! Get the feeling I'm a little excited?

Some minifigs, an imperial guard, a jawa and Spongebob Squarepants (a surprisingly impressive minifig).

That's the best Lego toilet I've ever seen (ok it's the only one I've ever seen but it's still brilliant). I love the mail sorting area too, some brilliant touches on the interior, great stuff!
