That's good news, it's much easier to spend time at my local Target checking barcodes than doing it at Toyworld (and I'd be betting my toyworld will be trying to sell them for $5 anyway)

Don't feel too bad, in Adelaide at least, there were signs saying discount is off full priced sets only, so you may not have missed out quite as badly as you thought. And on an even more positive note, you do have a gorgeous set in your collection now. Target Newton (SA) had the PoP sets, and regular prices of some being below retail was a pleasant surprise.

That's actually a Toyworld exclusive set. You can probably get it cheaper including shipping from the US (only $99 RRP there plus strong Aus $). But if you'd prefer not to use ebay or bricklink (although I think an Aus seller I know is getting one in which he'd charge well under $200 for but shipping would depend on where you live) your local toyworld is the best option. In other news, Adelaide toys r us had all the PoP sets, and remarkably they were at RRP, so I finally got the ostrich set for $22.50 after the 25% discount. They also had a bunch of fire stations for $300 before discount. They were all out of the x-wings they had the other day though.

In other news, Adelaide toyworld has the PoP sets, all grossly marked above RRP, the $80 set at $100 is the worst of them from memory. Given my local toyworld sold the last impulse sets at $6.99 I'm not expecting a good deal anywhere close by for the new collectible minifigs. Whup, if you can get your hands on a box at RRP or even find out where they're available to buy as a box, it'd be great if you could let me know.

Firstly apologies for the double post but I just have to share this ebay find with those from Adelaide There's a giant cardboard Jango Fett Lego display at what is probably a great price for the right buyer. I'd buy it myself but my cats would rip it to shreds Jango shop display Edit: He doesn't allow local pick up, what's up with that, there's no way I'd allow that to go through the post.

I just got a great PoP score. Went to catch up with a mate at lunch time, he needed to pay his David Jones bill, so we went past the toys and they had all the PoP sets in, and there was 25% off Lego for DJ's credit card holders which thankfully my mate is one of, so I got the Alamut set for $105, the market one for $37.50 and the small one for whatever 75% of RRP is for the small set. I resisted the urge to get the other two sets, although the ostriches are great there isn't much else to that set as far as I can tell. Sure beats K-mart! Oh, this was in Adelaide, so I assume other DJs have them in.

At the very least it's insane, so I'm in!

Last year Target had their big sale mid to late July, but I'm pretty sure K-mart and Big W run theirs earlier, so we could be expecting (hoping for) hefty discounts at K-mart in a few weeks. Could be, a couple years ago K-mart had the coast guard sets before everyone else.

I'll be waiting for prices to drop for sure. K-mart in recent times have been doing strange things with the regular prices of their lego with different sets going up and down in price while not on sale. However, it has never been at a price above RRP*, which for a retailer with their buying power is just greed. One theory (sometimes I like to be optimistic/naive) is that they've deliberately over-priced them as they want them to stay on the shelves until they have a sale (planned for soon) and they don't want disappointed customers seeing empty shelves... It's just a theory and not a very likely one I admit. *Excluding exclusives

It's available at shop at home for $40. Can't say I've noticed it at any retailers though. Expect at least two weeks from my experience. The worst was just over three weeks for me.

No luck at Firle, SA. The most exciting thing there was a lot of cleaned out empty space on the shelves with no price tags looking like they're getting ready for Prince of Persia sets to come in.

Now all I have to do is beat lightningtiger to the k-marts in a certain region of Adelaide, damn work interfering with lego buying. And Siegfried, thanks for the heads up!
