  1. Mainee, you need 10 posts before PM is allowed, I believe it's there to stop people setting up accounts purely for the purposes of spamming. If you haven't done so, introduce yourself in the new member topic (that's one more post) and just one more and you have ten.
  2. I can confirm that k-mart had the cheap prices tonight (although this is probably only helpful to those in Perth). My apologies for not remembering the name of the member that pointed this out. In other news, I was on my way to toys r us to get a $70 temple of doom and stopped at dymocks and found the minifigure sticker book, it's way bigger than I thought it would be plus there are plenty of very cool small stickers which will be great to use for the toy shop that comes with the toys r us truck if like me you don't want to be advertising toys r us with your lego. Oh the book was $18.
  3. But LT, you can pick one up for me and I'll give you $30 cash, that's right, a 68 cent tip! Good luck at the 6 am sales, mate.
  4. Interesting news Mainee! Is this a price matching big W price or a general price reduction on Lego?
  5. I tried this last night at a Big W in Adelaide but at least the 5974 and 8039 were at their regular Big W price. Where in Aus are you Cammy?
  6. I'd go the Space Police Central, so much variety and playability, and looks much better than the Police headquarters. By the way where are you seeing the 5985 for $88?
  7. It's good to see some Spongebob sets back at the Target sale, lets hope they actually stock enough to make it to sale time this year as this hasn't happened the last couple years. It's a little disappointing that there's no shop at home exclusive 10XXX set this year, I would have thought stocking the Winter Toy Shop would have been a great fit for their sale, market it as Christmas in July. Has anyone been to toys r us to see if there's anything on sale besides the sets listed in the catalogue?
  8. I looked at K-mart Firle last night, no wampas or Tantive IVs, although plenty of most of the other sets advertised except the xxl brick box (the only set I was thinking of getting). No midnight sale but store opens 6 am Thursday for those that want to get their hands on a RRP Tantive IV. 15th of August is the date listed for toyworld for all except the exclusive Imperial shuttle and AT-AT that lightningtiger mentioned.
  9. I think it's a short term exclusive. Because other places such as toyworld list it as coming in August. It will be interesting to see how it sells, given I have 3 snowspeeders already I can't justify just to get a wampa for $69 (although I suspect there are plenty of star wars fans willing to pay this much), and I expect kids will be more into clone wars. I did a quick count and Adelaide toys r us had 19 temple of doom sets ready for the "half" price sale on Wednesday.
  10. Thanks for that link! The box art and the light up brick certainly make Hagrid's Hut look way more appealing.
  11. ****Shop at home reductions**** Some castle and Indi at 30% off are the highlights!
  12. Report from my lunch time sojourn around the Adelaide CBD: Toys R Us had stacks of Temple of Doom sets, in preparation for the sale next week, currently marked at the unbelievable price of $139.99 They had lots of impulse sets but none of the Kingdoms ones. They had pirates, space police and atlantis as well as city ones. No sign of collectible figs there but I'm not that bothered, their quality has been mediocre and I prefer to have sets for my figs to live and play in. Went to Myer armed with yesteday's receipts for purchases over $50, and staff were lovely and gave me two lego club application forms to fill in, then I saw there's a limit to one per customer, so I guess I'll pass on my receipt and application form to a friend. But more surprisingly they had 7 or 8 imperial flagships available (I was tempted to get another but I have no idea why I would need two or where I could display them at the same time). I did see a guy in his 20s buying one and looking pretty happy with it, I wonder if it's someone here. There were also some fire stations and a couple Endor sets there, but no sign of trains (excl. Toy Story).
  13. Thanks turtle, great to have another Adelaidean here. I'm thinking about the pig farm and TTP is only 15 minutes away so I might have to look this weekend. Edit: I just looked on ebay and there are only a few new listings for the imperial flagship, emerald knight and cargo train, so that's good news, it looks like a lot of fans of the sets managed to get their hands on them rather than all going to re-sellers. Anyone built their flagship yet? I spent 15 minutes just drooling at the box. I'd recommend the lego lanterns to anyone, they're very cute and give a soft night light type glow, but I'm sure they'd chew up the batteries if you used them all the time.
  14. Thanks Ace, no wonder I could never find the figs at Toys r Us. I didn't know imagine if had the figs. I'll have to have a look at lunch time. I might just take pot luck on what I get.
  15. Toys r us have a sneak peek (no prices) for their catalogue. Only things there are Indi temple of doom set, some atlantis and toy story, rather underwhelming. Glad I spent all my money at Myer yesterday.
  16. October and: $200 castle $130 train $100 Burrow $30 quidditch $70 I think for hagrid's hut I can't recall price for Dobby set, although I vaguely recall it being more expensive than I thought it would be.
  17. I wasn't offered the membership either, but that's not so bad, it would have been embarrassing it putting it under one of my cats' names so they could get the free renewal for the next ten years. However I was offered the discount on the flagship straight away (I acted like this was a pleasant surprise). Although with my second purchase they were a bit confused about the extra 10% as I don't think they usually work in toys (I did get it thought, but again no offer for lego membership). As this thread seems to be sitting at the top of today's topics with all the updates I haven't been able to see if anyone knows any Big W prices? Any news?
  18. Report from Adelaide Myer: Arrived about 12:20 and collected my imperial flagship on hold and purchased immediately. There were still 3 on the shelves at that stage, and 2 emerald nights. I picked up the smart car, lighting repair chuck, a lego lantern and a duplo set for a 2 year old. By 12:45 both emerald nights were gone. When I left at 1 there were two imperial flagships left. There was no sign of any cargo trains when I arrived. There were plenty of fire stations and also battle of endor sets, masses of space police. Someone had cleared out the previously very full mindstorms shelves. So all in all a very successful trip but if you want an imperial flagship, hurry! Oh are others getting a giant super mario bag to put their purchases in. I reckon it could hold 4 imperial flagships, it's a monster! Edit: there was one lambhorgini police car left.
  19. The K-mart sale is pretty uninspiring for me although the XXL brick box at $69 for 1600 pieces might be worth picking up. Fingers crossed that the imperial flagship I put on hold is waiting for me at lunch time.
  20. I received an email from k-mart earlier in the week saying that the catalogue would be up on the web on the 24th, so it may even be up at midnight EST/ Brilliant, thanks for that news, an Imperial Flagship for $180 is insane!
  21. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll go on huge discount like the AT-OT did.
  22. Yes you do find out early, I guess that happens when you put in way more effort than the rest of us in finding things out! So is $299 the sale price? Full RRP, not exactly tempting. It'd probably still be less off starwarsshop.com.
  23. My condolences to you JCC and everyone that knew your beautiful kitty, Cirrus. I'm glad he had a long full life. Hewman
  24. I've done the same, fingers crossed the 'hold' sticker doesn't mysteriously disappear. I feel the guilt too, so just one for me but at $199 it is tempting to get one for later (not quite sure why I'd ever need two though), but hey at least we're not just grabbing the bargain for a quick profit. I can't see what other choices there are for K-Mart except the Tantive IV, I'd be stunned if they don't have it, the only thing I am not sure if is what the price would be. Oh if anyone in Adelaide wants some slightly hard to find sets, Imagine If have 10% off lego and have some agents, the AT-OT as well as a few others that aren't easy to find.
  25. Well you're out of luck there, there won't be a winter bakery in 2011, because it's coming out this year! But hopefully they add to this winter village theme in 2011. A giant sweets shop would have to be a chance.
