  1. I tend to agree. The Aus $ briefly dropped below parity today but is now back at $1.02 US, and will probably improve a bit more over the next couple weeks. However if you are after Millennium Falcon and you see it pop up on BN and can get it at 30% off, I would grab it now, because it might not be available a week later, and in reality it's only a few $s saving if the Aus dollar goes back up a bit more.
  2. The black, blue and yellow don't exist in sticker form. The bricklink database isn't always 100% accurate, the original entry is probably based on someone finding a custom. Any you have seen would be customs, in fact I have custom classic space men in five colours they never appeared in. It's very hard to find quality versions of the red and white ones, the red ones fade (even on an unused untouched sticker sheet) and the white ones get dirty very easily.
  3. Thanks for all that info! There are some great prices there. Now to install google chrome so I can work my way around the site a little better. For those desperate for a QAR (the only PotC set that seems to be selling out) there were two at Target Newton SA, also had new Harbour sets available. And for those that missed out on the big Pharaoh's Quest set, it's back on Barnes and Noble.
  4. The Hoth Echo Base set is up on Aus shop at home now, $170. It might be hard to find at Toys R Us so I immediately forked over $205 including shipping for my set that will arrive within 18 business days... either that or I just laughed and thought as much as I love The Empire Strikes Back and Hoth Lego, I wouldn't even buy this set at 20% off at Toys R Us.
  5. These are great and I'm sure they're bring a smile to many an AFOL's face, including mine. Thanks for sharing with us.
  6. I can't find that either in my email or the pdf document with the list of exclusions. It would be strange if it was state based or something (I'm in SA).
  7. I just got an email from Myer, $20 off for every $75 you spend on toys this weekend, the only exclusion I could find was console games. So if it can be doubled up with sales prices, there could be some great deals to be had even though the most popular sets appear sold out everywhere. If anyone has previous experience of being able to double up discounts like this at Myer, it would be great to know.
  8. If you don't find it there, toys r us have 20% off star wars lego now, so that may be an option.
  9. Lots of stores are open at Midnight (well one minute past) and I think most other stores are opening at 7 am if you're keen. They may even still accept lay-bys for it.
  10. Thanks for the pic! I'm loving the Superman and his hair is great. Given we have 13 characters I assume we'll have even more figs, like multiple Batman figs. I'm figuring we'll be getting about 8 sets (assuming about 2 unique figs per set). Superman and Lex. Wonder Woman, not sure who else would be in that set as I've never been a fan. At least two or three batman sets, particularly given 3 Batman villains were listed and there were 6 characters not listed (although Green Lantern is obviously one now). I reckon Robin and Catwoman are a chance to turn up in sets as well. At least one Green Lantern The great news is we only have to speculate for a few days and then we'll have way more information.
  11. My guess is it probably does dramatically reduce the chances of an Avengers license, as I'd imagine DC insisted on Lego not working with competitors for the period of the contract. Does anyone know of other toy companies putting out both DC and Marvel products at the same time? Anyway, it's great news, even though I have most of the original Batman sets I won't complain about getting more, and an official Superman minfig would be brilliant.
  12. That is crazy! Myer (Adelaide) had all the new HP sets (excluding Diagon Alley of course) plus re-stocking of some of last year's, the castle, train and quidditch sets. So it may be worth waiting to see if they have an extra 10% off this weekend before buying them there or at Target from tomorrow. From today, toys r us have 20% off Star Wars lego, that's probably only useful for any exclusives though.
  13. cancelled by hewman, got my info wrong.
  14. I don't recall seeing this mentioned before but the new cargo train (set 3677) is up on Shop at Home ($290), as is the Naboo Starfighter ($80). For those in Adelaide I saw the old 10191 Star Justice set for $60 at ImagineIf at Newton on the weekend, they also had a bunch of other Lego discounts which I think included 25% off Space Police. They weren't allowing loyalty points for sale items though.
  15. So they gave you the extra 20% off, well done. It's supposed to only be on full priced toys, and I don't think $199 is full price for a fire brigade. I'm tempted to give that a go myself.
  16. Am I missing something? I couldn't see what stores or states. Any help would be appreciated. Edit: Yes I was missing something, it's on the second link, two stores in Victoria.
  17. Myer (Adelaide store at least) has 50% off World Racers. Many of the sets were on the ground floor (rather than 5th) which was a little odd. Mind you, even at 50% off, $85 doesn't feel like a bargain to me for the biggest set. Toyworld Adelaide had plenty of their exclusive city house for $70 if anyone is looking for one.
  18. Exactly. I purchased the whole PQ range and before building, the cobra set was what I thought would be my least favourite, but turned out to be one of my favourites of the theme after I had the joy of building and displaying it.
  19. The RRP for the marina is actually $79.99, so the $59 you paid is 25% off which is a nice deal.
  20. Thanks for that. If anyone finds any others, add them to the list! I have no spare Lego $s right now but some of these prices with dcent shipping are very tempting.
  21. Here's a list of some sets from amazon UK that I've found will ship to Australia. These are at good prices too, and once VAT is removed I believe they're 16.67% cheaper again. 7637 Farm 8078 Portal of Atlantis 7597 Toy Story western train 8089 Hoth wampa cave
  22. Thanks for the pic, it's a nice looking set for sure, a definite inprovement on last year's bakery.
  23. I think you're getting worried a bit prematurely there, LT. By your reasoning, the Captain's cabin wasn't available in Aus if you interpret the picture the same way, and we both know that was everywhere. I am confident (without any proof) that the Black Pearl will make it to general retail in Aus. Edit: I just found out that these pics came from the Collectors guide book that is to be released soon, and the different regions indicating availablity (as in if it was ever available, not like a retailer catalogue about being able to be ordered by them) are clearly wrong for the captain's cabin so quite possibly wrong as well for the Black Pearl, so I don't think it's time to start worrying yet that it won't show up in Australia.
  24. That's not too bad. I've found with books that amazon tends to be conservative with their shipping estimates in order to avoid getting lots of queries about 'where's my order'. I'd say it's a good chance you'll have it next week. I haven't been able to work out the pattern for what is able to be ordered and what isn't. The only rules I can guess are 'no star wars sets' as every different one I tried was not allowed to be shipped to Aus. Quite a few older city sets could be, but not all, there's just no obvious consistency.
  25. If you guys can let us know how it goes, that would be great. Given the express shipping, we shouldn't have too long to wait. I expect that Amazon will be a lot better than B&N re honouring an order and if they don't, I imagine they'd refund a lot quicker too.
