  1. For those in Adelaide, the 25% off at Toycorner has led to a very busy shop, staff were doing a very good job considering the number of people shopping there though. Some of the better deals I saw were heaps of the impulse sets from a couple years ago that are $4.50 after discount, includes Pirate, Space Police and City sets that I saw. They also had the two Winter Village sets at a little above RRP (marked price) but still very good value after 25% off. I wouldn't go there trying to do a big parts order, you may be waiting a while.
  2. I ordered a winter bakery set with standard shipping that arrived this morning. Delivery time was reasonable but box (lego box) was pretty bashed. I'd definitely recommend the express option if you like boxes in reasonable condition.
  3. Although Myer has no general 20% off Lego (well not according to catalogue and some discounts are less than 20%) they do have 25% off all board games and some Lego games are more than 25% off, including atlantis game reduced from $40 to $25, Creationary from $50 to $35 and Ninjago from $40 to $27. All of these are before the extra Myer One 10% discount.
  4. I have about 20 sets at anyone stage sitting in my basket at amazon.fr and I looked this morning to see that about 12 of those had gone up (average about 15%). I think the MMV did go up, but it's still at a good price. I just have to decide if I want a second one.
  5. Thanks for the review, after reading it I was on the fence about buying it. They've only just made it to Australia, and I looked at one at the ABC shop here, it felt very light in the box, then I looked at the price, $30 (that's a smidge under 20 pounds, although we pay less sales tax, so it's really the equivalent to over 20 pounds). All other sets were equally as insanely priced here, the "big" one was $180. Apologies if this is not quite in the right thread. I couldn't find one that perfectly matched what I had to say and I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread over.
  6. Distortme, you're a legend! I checked my local Target at Newton this morning, but nothing, and then I see this and race to TTP in my trackies (which didn't make me feel out of place there) and picked up the Black Pearl for $135.20. There were two left when I got mine. For anyone looking, they're not with the other PotC lego but in the aisle with the bulk of the lego. Also I think it's a fair price, particularly compared to the Dr Who Cobi stuff I saw at the ABC shop by Target, but I'll comment on that in the appropriate thread.
  7. Cheers, gives me hope for a pub/tavern then!
  8. That's because it's Oktoberfest! I was thinking that seeing all the winter sets have some outdoor component, there could be a beer garden. I'm not quite sure who'd frequent a beer garden in the snow though. Perhaps they could have a fire in a 44 gallon drum, although that doesn't bring a warm cheery image to mind. Or maybe they could all be dancing in their lederhosen to stay warm!
  9. I don't think it will happen (particularly since Grogall has 'guessed' candy shop, and he's never wrong), but I'd love a pub. A fireplace (we know it will have a light-up brick somewhere), much merriment and singing, a dart board on the wall and decorations everywhere. I'm guessing this will be too adult for Lego, but there is a pub in Hogsmeade in Harry Potter (although they might just serve butterbeer there)
  10. Actually the CTT was never a Target exclusive, like many sets and themes, they like other retailers had the rights to sell it first. Anyway we (including me) are getting off topic. We have no reason to doubt TanTile and it's great that one of the most anticipated sets has almost arrived.
  11. According to hobbyco.com.au, your guesses are spot on (well they list them as $29.95, but I reckon that's close enough!). Other 2012 sets are listed there like the big police set for $120 (I assume it's $70 US, as all $70 US sets seem to be $120 Aus).
  12. I love the reasoning behind making this and the execution of the idea is great too. I think this might start a whole run of people making custom star wars figs in this way.
  13. Thanks Tantile for the news quoted by dotmike. That's great that it's not an exclusive, means it should be available for 20% off at some stage. Dotmike, most bigger sets are as close to 70% above US RRP as Lego can make it (there are of course many bizarre inconsistent examples, but more examples that obey this 'rule'), so I'm guessing it will be $170 here. For those in Adelaide with Myer one vouchers, I saw 3 star wars advent calendars there (city store), of course you'll have to buy more than one or something else to get the discount but probably less hassle than buying 3 at a 3 for 2 sale and selling 2.
  14. Brilliant work on all of them. If I had to choose a couple favourites it would be the Dracula and Devil kitties, but I love them all.
  15. Interesting, that's my closest but they're not on the toyworld site's list, but I'm guessing you popped in there and asked. Also the shuttle is $129, so $30 off which is tempting.
  16. Try Toys R Us, Adelaide, a day or two ago they still had series 4 and 5 for 3 for $10. Also I'm not sure if it has been mentioned but toyworld have the big space shuttle on sale from mext Monday (participating stores only). I think it was $20-30 off from memory, not quite as good as K-mart had them for but if you missed out then and are regretting it, this is probably the best chance you'll get to purchase one at a reasonable price without importing. Speaking of importing, just a friendly reminder to all that this topic is for sales in Australia only, all the buying from overseas discussion belongs in this topic. Cheers Hewman
  17. ISC, that's an absolutely beautiful MOC. If this was a set I'd buy it, which I think is the highest compliment I can pay to a MOC. Well done on getting the matching green airtanks. When I was making classic space figs in various colours I cheated and gave the figs either black, blue or grey hips so I could match airtanks to them.
  18. If you're not prepared to wait the 8 or 9 months for the 2012 mid-year sales, shop at home might be the best option. I think they have double VIP points on this set at the moment. Although there is one on bricklink now for just over $120, but once you factor in shipping and paypal's dodgy currency conversion rates, you're probably looking at $180+. I doubt that the set will appear on various Amazon sites until next year and most don't ship Lego to Aus anyway. There isn't any connection between US and Australian Target, so if it does turn up at Target here, it is no more than a coincidence. Sorry I don't have any more helpful info than that.
  19. Just out of curiosity I went to David Jones at lunch to see if they had the pet shop (and a 25% off sale), they had neither. However, they did have the modular fire brigade set reduced to $209 (I could be a couple dollars out) and unlike the boxes I saw at Toys R Us a while ago ($200 price tag), these ones were in good condition. I don't know if this is nationwide or was just in the Adelaide DJs store. Also I think there were some comments here about looking for the Black Pearl and someone suggested Toys R Us, however I think someone reliable on this thread mentioned a few months ago that it will be an independent store (including Toyworld) exclusive.
  20. Thanks for the great review. I think the grooved variant of the 1 x 2 jumper plate is new and probably to allow easier removal, particularly with the new brick/tile/plate/pin separator due out soon. I already own this set but your review makes me want to pull it out tonight rather than waiting for December when I planned to rebuild it.
  21. I think it's a possibility that the sets we've just seen prelim pics of will be released in May, however the action figure type sets that pics appeared in a while ago will be out in the Northern Hemisphere summer. So technically that would make the press release and the blogger correct.
  22. Welcome, MrZ. If you haven't seen it, we have an Aussie sales thread here that might save you a few $s.
  23. Hi ACreation Firstly welcome to Eurobricks. There's actually a specific topic for buying from other countries here where you can ask your questions. This topic is purely for sales located in Australia (rather than sales available to Australians). If you'd like to introduce yourself there's a "Hello my name is..." section under Eurobricks Community where you can introduce yourself. Cheers Hewman
  24. I'm on their email list, they called it their long weekend sale. I was assuming it's a long weekend everywhere this weekend (it is in Adelaide), so hopefully I haven't misled anyone and the sale is nationwide.
  25. Hey folks, can we try to keep this on topic, we don't want this thread being locked. In sales news, Toys R Us have 20% off City sets for the long weekend. This includes their exclusive Public Transport set.
