  1. Personally, I didn't know it and was a bit surprised. The scene reminded me a bit of Leia's revelation in Return of the Jedi. The ironic thing is that Steela's revelation doesn't improve Ahsoka's situation, but worsens it. I wonder if she'll be able to let Lux go, but I think she will. And that's the reason why I think the comparison to the "ordinary" love story is inappropriate: Basically, a love story is about the question who gets whom. But that's not the issue here. Rather, Asohka is exposed to a situation in which she can't control all the factors, especially not the feelings of other persons, in this case Lux' and Steela's. The question is how she'll deal with it, and whether or not she'll be able to focus on her mission objectives, and not to get distracted by her personal feelings. Unlike hate, anger and so on, love is not exactly a negative feeling. The curious thing about it is that it may nevertheless lead to the dark side. All in all, I find this arc much more entertaining than Water Wars. I hope though that it'll be concluded in the next episode, and that the love-context is not the only one that is used to show how Ahsoka makes progress as a Jedi.

  3. Curious. If I evaluate a subject and if I arrive at an observation that doesn't fit to my expectations which are rooted in and formed upon certain assumptions I made about this subject, the only conclusion I'd draw upon this observation is that the assumptions are inadequate in order to form valid expectations, and thus have to be dropped. Concluding that the subject somehow behaves wrong and demanding that it should behave differently is, well, not exactly what I'd call "scientific". To me, the inconsistencies that were created are of minor importance, and I do not believe the Star Wars universe will collapse due to them. It is apparent that Lucas assumes and has the power to override whatever kind of established canon, and that he is willing to do so if he believes his actions are justified by his motives. Star Wars is a fictional universe, and I'm rather relaxed when it comes to such issues. So ultimately, when Lucas does it, that means that it is not illegal, and he won't be impeached for his actions.
  4. You're right. However, reading about content of the premiere came surprising to me. It reminds me that after the broadcast of the next episode, I will have to skip this thread until I watched it myself.
  5. Well. I don't think that it's exactly forbidden to post "spoilers" here. But using spoiler tags would be pretty nice Thanks
  6. As others said, the final decisions are up to Lucas, not Filoni. Well. Star Wars is not a science. Not bringing back Maul only because this event is incompatible to "continuity guidelines" seems, well, not very reasonable to me. I think that with introducing the Midichlorians, Lucas made a huge mistake. To some degree, their introduction is plausible: it is clear that Midichlorians represent potential power, while training represents the degree to which this potential power is realized. That way, differences of power of Jedi can be explained. On the other hand, it removes a lot from the mystery surrounding the concept of the force and, consequently a lot of the mystery of the Star Wars universe. I think that Lucas reacts to this trend of what I'd call "explaining the mysteries away". He may create inconsistencies, but I'm not concerned about them. Rather, the only conclusion I draw upon this obervation is that Lucas has other concerns than inconsistencies and is willing to pay this price. Personally, I like the show, I like Star Wars, and I like watching how this fictional universe evolves. I think the premiere is currently broadcasted and should be over in ca. 34 minutes.
  7. If they are displayed on the prelim pics, they may be placeholders as well. Or do you have access to "clear", non-prelim pics?
  8. I don't think Lucas' motive is making more money. I think it's much more about making the Star Wars universe less predictable and more fantastic, and in a certain way about regaining control about what the people think that Star Wars is.
  9. With regards to questions, I recommend being specific: ask for costs of concrete weights. As for buing complete sets from an international seller, I'd recommend checking amazon.co.uk and another European amazon store first. Pretty often, they offer sets of a nice discount. Buying sets from sellers which are outside of Europe usually doesn't make sense (high shipping costs, usually insurance is required, taxes, customs).
  10. The minifig exchange event sounds interesting. I'm rather curious how it'll be handled exactly.
  11. At least, it's not available in Germany. But that's not a surprise; for some reason, such promotions NEVER take place in Germany *sigh*.
  12. Hi! Where precisely do I have to enter the code?
  13. Ehhh major mistype of mine. I wanted to write: "I'd like to see a "Season 5 Special". All episodes aired during one day or so." Sorry.
  14. Yeah, I know what you mean. I't a "Season 5 Special". All episodes aired during one day or so.
  15. Bly? Or do you mean Gree?
  16. Not quite correct. We saw him e.g. in Darkness of Umbara in his phase II armor, but he wasn't part of the story. Anyway, I think further discussing this issue is apt to inviting a mod to tell us to stay on topic.
  17. This waves TCW sets seem to root in season 4. If I remember correctly, Cody didn't have a single line in season 4, so we might get him later. With regards to screentime/lines in season 4, Wolffe would be more likely.
  18. I don't see a reason why you should be worried about that. They made a prototype for the ARC released in 9488. I expect that the new helmets will be slightly modified (no fin, mouth part more flat, consequently slightly changed breathing tubes and, of course, different painting). I'm very curious how these helmets will look, though.
  19. No, I haven't, and please don't post the spoilers
  20. Noone knows; maybe you should send a letter to the CEO of Lego and ask him directly. I share your concerns about the different visors of the ARF troopers. It's the reason why I didn't buy the new ARFs; the visor looks horrible (although there seem to be different variants of this visor). As for the smaller visors of HC- and Bomb Squad Troopers, it's slightly annoying, but not as annoying the different visors of the two ARFs. The same is true for Gree: he's a commander, so I can live with slight changes. What I find rather annoying (I won't get tired of adressing this issue) is the usage of different materials for helmets, making it impossible to predict if I'll get a "good" helmet or a "bad" helmet. The consequence is that I buy less figures.
  21. Maybe. But she had no serious trouble with Dooku until he attacked Dathomir. She supported Ventress' revenge against Dooku, but that is something different. I do not believe that Talzin is a means to further Ventress' ends; rather, I think it's the other way around. It's possible that her only goal is to kill Dooku, but I'd find that goal lacks, well, ambition.
  22. Hmmm...Satine is a pretty good target for Maul in order to hurt Obi Wan. It'd make it more plausible that though Obi Wan recognized the relationship between Padme and Anakin, he didn't interfere. It doesn't sound strange. I think that Filoni or someone else said that Maul has an interest in Ventress. Plus, the goals of Mother Talzin still are unclear; it's equally unclear what Talzin did with Ventress by the ritual that turned her into a "true Nightsister".
  23. Last paragraph: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Eeth_Koth To me, Eeth Koth is not an important character in EP II. Whether he was assumed to be dead and "revived" later isn't exactly a problem that makes me sleeping badly. @Oky: But maybe you're right; I think if Ventress is popular enough Filoni might as well leave her destiny open.
  24. Ventress represents to some degree "free will", but clearly not determinism. And no, it's part of a drama's structure that at the end, the protagonist is worse off than at the beginning. In Ventress' case, her end would be more tragic, depending on the circumstances. The topic of personal responsibilty has been invoked in the recent Batman film, that those who have the power to change the course of history must decide whether they act or stand by. The same topic will be invoked in Season 5; as Filoni put it, the Jedi miss opportunities to act resposible and to act due to their standards; the consequence is that guys like Tarkin advance in the military chain and take over the power. I'm pretty sure that Ventress will die, to me, the question is how and why: will she make an ultimate sacrifice in order to serve a greater good? If this should be the case, do you still think that the wrong message is sent? As pathetic as it may sound: we will all die. The question is whether we die as bystanders who decide not to act, hoping that "somehow", everything will turn out right, or if we act due to our standards of "how things should be". Anyway, at this point, it remains highly speculative; but on the other hands, it precisely these questions that make TCW so interesting to me.
