  1. In Season 4, we saw the "Slave of the Republic" arc. The queen told Anakin that he is a slave, and I think she was right. Anakin's present actions are basically determined of his past and his experiences, his fear of loss, his fear of being unable to control situations, and, in a certain sense, it's his past that drives him to the dark side. In this regard, Ventress is the opposite of Anakin: she was able to break away from her past, to re-define herself, and to shape her future. She made a decision that Anakin neither was nor will be able to make. So to me, Lucas/Filoni explore a philosophical question in these two arcs, and Anakin and Ventress are two different answers to the same question: in some cases, people are free to decide, while in others, they aren't; so what is ultimately discussed here are free will and determinism. (Recommend article for political implications: here). And to answer your question: I think it's for the reason of drama that Ventress has to die. I like her very much, and I'd like her to survive (which is a bit irrational since she's just a figure in a tv series, but that's a different point). But I do not believe that Filoni will let her go. To me, she has begun to represent or symbolize an ideal or at least an idea, and it's exactly this idea that will die and give way to the emerging empire, the new "shape of things to come".
  2. I don't think that. The point is that premlim pics are of very limited value with regards to how the sets will actually look. The guy who informed us about the sets saw the prelim pics in the catalogue, gave a brief description and said that basically, they tell us nothing. That's true for the prelim pics of the last wave as well. Pictures of the sets will sooner or later appear on websites of retailers, or sets will be shown during next Comic Con. I rather prefer waiting for official pics than seeing prelim pics.
  3. I'm sorry. I found it amusing, but I didn't mean to be offensive. I have a different view about the quality of the show, but I think different views are beyond the scope of an "objective" discussion, so I accept your point.
  4. Premlim pics leaked around September 7th. Official pics (from retailer websites) leaked around Oktober 12th.
  5. Oh boy...if we get an ARF, I hope it's visor printing will be consistent with the ARF of 7913, and not with the one of 9488.
  6. It's possible. The point is that the clones in the bp are not indicated as 501st or 212th clones, while they are in the other set. On the one hand, that doesn't have to mean anything, on the other hand, that may indicate that there won't be 501st or 212th clones in the bp.
  7. Yes, that's what tomo says in his first sentence. It is possible that they are from the summer wave; I don't know if Lego usually announce sets from the summer sets in the catalogue that is available now. As far as I know, it'd pretty unsual for Lego to announce exclusives in the catalogue. That's the big question. It could be plain white ones from AOTC, or others from TCW.
  8. No, due to the catalogue, these are regular sets, no exclusives.
  9. Interesting guess; currently, I'd bet (again) that it will be an AOTC set. I'm pretty curious what it'll turn out to be

  11. Due to tomo, the droidekas in the bp are normal ones, while the one in the AT-RT set is a sniper droideka. Maybe the bp is an ep 2 set?
  12. Thanks for the info Due to the list, Ashoka will be redesigned, while Obi Wan won't. I still wonder what kind of clones will be in the battle pack, and if the AT-RT will a TCW set (which seems pretty likely at this point since it doesn't come with a new Yoda). The BARC set sounds nice; to me, it all depends if they make Rex right... The Umbaran MHC is a big surprise to me, I didn't suppose they'd feature Umbaran vehicles. I'm pretty curious how the vehicle and the figs will turn out to look. It's a redesigned Rex, so I think it's very likely.
  13. It's Lego, so details have to be compromised, while what you call the overall "feeling" of a model, at least in my opinion, should be given priority. Anio's AT-AT is not exactly what I'd call "a caricature", it's far from being that... edit: Oh yes, and I think there is no rational base for criticism; he can make whatever decisions he wants to. Whether you like it or not, whether you would have made something different or not is a totally different question; but expressing your preferences is something different than criticizing another person for not sharing them. You may argue why you would have built what in a different way, and thus express your preferences. But it's clearly not within your competence to measure Anio's build and building decisions against some kind of "objectively true build of an AT-AT" that you believe to possess.
  14. I find it looks way better now The changes appear to be subtle; not sure about that. But the features of the original model that immediately caught my attention and where labeled as "awkward" or "outstanding" do no longer exist.
  15. I'm glad Lucas didn't like the idea. Wheels may be more efficient, but the walkers definetly look cooler and, back in the 80s, way more unusual. As for the Ewoks, I agree that I didn't like everything about the whole Endor scene, especially not the way the Ewoks defeated the AT-STs. But I liked the idea that the Emperor consequently underestimated the Ewoks, probably judging to their abilities from their appearance; I liked the idea that the apparently powerless can turn the tide of the battle and bring empires to fall.
  16. Including an assassin droid (given Lego means the same assassin droid we mean) is a weird idea, no matter if it's a PT or a TCW set. Anyway, last wave's prelim pics weren't of much value, and the first shots of the box covers appeared around October 15th. Unless Lego doesn't introduce more sets officially, we'll have to wait.
  17. It is, and it's pretty good news! I feel way less tempted now to buy more than one set to get the clones! I wouldn't conclude from the fact that the AT-RT set comes up with a prelim pic of a TCW Yoda that it'll be a TCW set. Remember that the prelim pics of 9494 came up with TCW minifig pics as well (it makes sense to use the TCW Yoda for the prelim pics because it looks, well, less outdated than the PT Yoda). It turned out though that they were placeholders for new PT figs. Given that it's not very likely that we'll see three TCW sets and no PT set, I think it'll be a PT set.
  18. Warthog would fit in your description: http://www.starwars.com/explore/encyclopedia/characters/warthog/
  19. You guys are hilarious Given, Filoni were able to create a set of episodes based on your current knowledge and preference, and that, measured by these standards, would be perfect, I'm sure you would be able to find a lot details to complain about, simply because it's The Clone Wars; Filoni and Lucas will never be able to get it right because, well, they are Filoni and Lucas. edit: The trailer at a slightly higher resolution: http://www.starwars.com/watch/tcw_season5_cvi_trailer.html
  20. That's not quite correct ;)
  21. Just read the article the trailer is embedded in on http://insidetv.ew.com, and immediately wondered what "the one thing" is Filoni is talking about. And I still wonder who's the one character that won't make it to season 6...trailers...maybe I shouldn't watch them...
  22. What makes you so confident it's Ventress? edit: Ok, watched it again and had to stop several time until I recognized it.
  23. The clip wasn't really exciting, but I wouldn't call it "horribly stupid". It's an ambush and not a battle, and the ambush worked. As for the gunships, they hit several targets, but not Ahsoka in this particular scene. I'm pretty glad that the gunship was put right in front of them because I find they look pretty cool :) Onderon was featured by the EU several years ago. I have no idea though how it looked, so I can't say if Pandora's look was influenced by Onderon, or if Onderon's look in the show was influenced by Pandora. But to be honest, it's a question I really don't care about. I think that playing the Imperial March is not so inappropriate. The show features for the very first time direct action of Darth Sidious.
