  1. I haven't been on since, well, August, I think. Have you guys already figured out what changed so far, if duping is still a pressing issue and if this game is still fun?
  2. Thanks for the review and the comparison pics I like the set. The price of EUR 49,99 is way more reasonable than anticipated. The only problem I have is that it is a TRU exclusive. Since TRU Germany excludes certain exclusive sets (e.g. 9526, 7869) from any discount, I'll wait until May 4th to buy it at the Lego Shop online.
  3. Considering that previous battle packs (e. g. 8014) came up with 4 clones for occasionally EUR 7,86, I wouldn't consider the AT-TE a "big source of clones" even if it came up with 6 clones. Since it is pretty likely that the set will include droids as well (the other faction), I find it unlikely that the set will contain 6 clones. TLC removed the possibility to get huge amounts of clones or other generic troopers for a relatively reasonable amount of money. So apparently, TLC no longer supports army building, which, to me, is a pitty. The point is that the recent battle pack 75000 cannot compensate the missing clone pilot in the new gunship, simply because 75000 doesn't contain a pilot.
  4. I agree. While the prelims of e. g. Jabba's Palace or the latest X-Wing weren't fully convincing, they turned out pretty good. I'd say that on the average, the latest models were an improvement compared to previous models, and I hope that this trend will continue. I do not doubt that the Jedi are Anakin and Obi Wan. Since Padme is included, it's the scene where they chase Dooku. Taking into account that another set is "Duel on Geonosis", it should mean that TLC covers this whole particular scene.
  5. The gunship looks like a few details were changed with regards to 7676. Based on this pic, I prefer the design of 7676. The composition of minifigs (Obi Wan, Anakin, Padme, 2 Troopers, 2 Super Battle Droids) looks pretty good though.
  6. You're right, no private act whatsoever can destroy a right. However, that wasn't Cardinal's point. He didn't say that Rick as a moderator shouldn't have the power to lock the thread. Rather, he said that Rick should have left the thread open to see if people participate in order to decide whether or not it should be locked. In other words: he wanted to transform the decision about locking the thread into a majority decision. Rick didn't do that and closed the thread immediately, and that's why Cardinal called the act an "arbitrary exercise of power". Cardinal doesn't see that (for obvious reasons) this not a realistic mode of moderating a forum. The point of this forum is to provide information about Lego related topics the users might be interested in. However, any level of participation doesn't indicate whether or not a thread provides such information, or, more precisely, it doesn't indicate the quality of information provided in the thread. Seen it this way, Cardinal's criterion for locking a thread is an arbitrary criterion. The relevant criterion for deciding whether or not to close a thread is the information quality provided in the thread. Rick realized that the thread didn't contain any information, but rather unconfirmed "rumors" and a few "conclusions" based on these "rumors", that the thread itself and any discussion of the stated "rumors" don't contribute to the quality of this forum as a source of information, and consequently locked it immediately. Making this decision depending on participation is, as stated above, neither necessary nor realistic. Personally, I find that moderators and regulators are not so eager to intervene at any given opportunity: if they are tyrants, they are pretty lame
  7. Noone knows for sure. The immediate effect is that TLC can cover more figures with one set. This allows TLC to cover more scenes with the same number of sets. This is important for the SW projects that are still ongoing, namely TCW and TOR. Customers may find the new battlepacks more attractive because they contain more different figures than previously, but I don't believe it's the main reason behind TLC's decision, but rather a side effect.
  8. What you posted was even less substantial than a rumor: it's nothing, it doesn't contain any information at all. Consequently, there is nothing the term "discussion" can even be applied to. Rick recognized that. Instead of simply deleting your post, he only locked it. Your "opinion" can still be read by anyone who is attracted by the topic. Anyone can send you a PM if he feels the need to debate the whole issue with you.
  9. Welcome Afaik, the answer to your question is "no", because there are too many parts that are not available via TLC.
  10. In each case, the probability is either 0 or 1 I think it's futile to speculate, so we have to wait for further rumors.
  11. I liked Batman 3 a lot (the German voice of Bane really, really sucked, but that's a different point). I think though that the various symbolisms have to be understood. Anyway, I found the latest episode entertaining, but a bit boring. I don't see the point of watching the squad moving through "the void" for an entire episode, and I lack the motivation to look for it. Maybe someday else.
  12. I partly agree. I do not see, however, that major changes of the snowspeeder are possible without makig a new windscreen. The changes of the X-Wing are nice, but I wouldn't call them "major" due to the lacking of a new windscreen; it robbs a lot from 9493 of its "X-Wing-ishness". To me, the same is true for the Y-Wing, although here, it seems less important.
  13. I think it was a better droid episode than the season 4 droid episodes. I found the doctor a bit too weird and hard to believe that the Jedi would actually employ this character. I don't think we'll see too much clone action any time soon. We know, though, that framing Order 66 will be part of the series. So my hope is that it will be shown how the warfare is intensified to send as many Jedi as possible to the frontlines, in order to make Order 66 an effective tool to destroy the Jedi order (hm, quite many "orders" here; I think I'm lacking synonyms).
  14. Thanks I wasn't sure since bricklink doesn't provide information to decide the question. If you could update the two inventories, that'd be pretty nice
  15. Thanks for looking into that. You're correct: The problem so to say becomes viable *only* if a new page has to be displayed, which happens all (no. of posts / 25) posts. If this happens (let's say at 2076 posts), the thread still behaves as if 2074 posts were made (= it calculates the number of pages displayed on the base of 2074, not 2076). When post no. 2077 is made, it still behaves as if 2075 posts were made. At post 2078, it will add a new page with 3 posts. edit: Wrong figures due to my immediate status after waking up.
  16. He didn't say it explicitly. He said, "Because I don't know how long we're going to go, but I say well six [seasons], six is a pretty good number." I hope for 7 seasons, but I wouldn't bet on it.
  17. I don't find the depiction "horrible". To me, it's better than in 7749, basically because it is meant to be a trench and not a wall. The scene that comes closest to the two builds is this one: I agree that Rieekan would have fit better into 7879. But the point is that Lego didn't include it, leaving everyone with two options: (1) waiting for another Hoth base to include him then, which may take some time, (2) include him in another Hoth set. I'm fine with (2). I cannot see why anyone would "hate" this set because Lego included Rieekan. Snowtroopers weren't seen in the trench scenes as well; so if anyone "hates" the set because Rieekan was included, he should equally "hate" this set because snowtroopers were included, and the e-web, and the imperial speeder bike, which actually wasn't seen in the film. To me, "the battle of Hoth" includes action inside the base as well (it's "the battle of Hoth", not "the trenches of Hoth"), which doesn't make it unplausible to include Rieekan and snowtroopers. As for your last point, I already said previously that at least one head from 9489 is included, which, at least to me, makes is plausible to assume that both rebel soldiers in 75014 will feature the heads of both rebels in 9489. So I find it hard to see the point of your last point I'm fine with getting some variation of the printed faces for otherwise uniform soldiers without having to bricklink other heads. As for your conclusion, I find it much better than 7879. To me, it's not worse, but different, and contains more stuff I'd like to have. edit: The snowspeeder's colour is correct. Luke's speeder and his wingman's: Luke's is the one in front, while his wingman is the one with the orange markings. That it isn't Lukes that has the orange markings can be seen in start sequence: (There are small discrepancies in the two models which apparantly stem from the different models (huge/small) that were used for filming and meant to represent the same speeder.)
  18. Yes. I'm not concerned about the price; I'm concerned whether or not it will be a "Limited Edition"- or a "Special Edition" set. In this case, the price reduction usually won't be more than 20 %, at least in Germany. Well, time will tell.
  19. I think it's because the post count of the topic is wrong. The count says "2021 replies". However, currently, the thread has 2024 posts, or 2023 replies. If it'd be possible to correct 2021 to 2023, I think it will be displayed correctly (probably something got lost during the recent server issues). So currently, a new page will be displayed so to say two posts too late.
  20. Well, I'd estimate the piece count between 300 and 400, plus 6 minifigs and the tauntaun, I think the will be either EUR 54,99, or EUR 69,99, or, worst case, EUR 89,99.
  21. Personally, I like the design of the Snowspeeder. It looks rather "snowspeederish" to me (The X-Wing, on the other hand, is of much greater concern for me, but that is a different issue). As for the probe droid: since it wasn't included in 7879, I find it quite nice that it was included now. As for the tauntaun, it's correct that it was not part of the battle; nevertheless, I'm glad that they included one. That brings me to your statement that the set doesn't come up with anything new. What's new about this set, and what I like about it, is that I can get a snowspeeder and a tauntaun in one official set (plus a few minifigs). You may not find that important; I do. And that's one of the reasons I'll buy this set. The inclusion of a new minifig, which, I assume, is what you suggest to be the "obvious selling strategy", is not a factor at all. In other words: I'd buy this set even if no new figure was included.
  22. Thanks for the pics prideprice I didn't expect them so early. The set is pretty much what I expected, and the fact that it comes with two Hoth rebel soldiers rather than one is nice. The heads looks like those of 9489; at least one of them has that "open mouth grin" expression. They removed a bit of colour and replaced it by grey (snow speeder, tauntaun saddle), which I like as well. I hope the snowtroopers will finally get closed visors, but I don't believe that will happen. The design of the imperial speeder was changed again slightly; I think they've done that in order to tease StoutFiles I think for "Hoth starters", this is a great set.
  23. Some of the sets are already offered by amazon.co.uk. But I'll guess they'll available discounted sooner or later.
  24. Personally, I wouldn't really call it the worst season. It is different to the degree that until now, it basically featured Ahsoka and no other main character (I don't count the season premiere in). And it is different because it started with two long arcs, each featuring four episodes. In season 1 to 3, we didn't have such long arcs. So far, I liked the arcs. The end of the first one, seeing the death of the female rebel, was a surprise to me. The end of the second one, Obi Wan, Ahsoka and the younglings performing some kind of Jedi ritual, was pretty heart-warming. The point is that for the Jedi in the series, these younglings are some kind of a promise for a better future, some kind of hope. For me as part of the audience, it's rather a glimpse of the past: they can perform whatever kind of lightsabre mojo; they'll be dead by the end of ROTS. The Jedi Order will be destroyed. No more younglings. No more activation of the magical crystal cave mechanism. It ends all there.
  25. Hi, can anyone tell me if the Boba Fett from Boba Fett’s Slave I - Mini - Star Wars Celebration VI Exclusive is the same (at least helmet, torso, and legs) as in 9496, and if the head of Luke in Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder - Mini - New York Comic-Con 2012 Exclusive is the same as in 8089?
