A set 3 in 1`is great news, I wonder what the constructions will be. I guess basing on the most iconic builds on medieval coming to mynd is the castle, guard tower, tavern, wood refuge. The build I guess will have some vehicle for transportation. And how the major colours shall accompany the build. My guess: 3-4 minifigs (2 guards, 1 peasant, 1 noble) Not sure if they would include a horse or brick built one. I would prefer 4 minifigs and the molded horse. First build: Guard Tower Keep - main build: a tall tower with entrance and interior, tudor style build at the top. with civilian cart. Second build: tavern/inn an horizontal build with stone foundation and tan/brown roof. with army cart Third build: training grounds, tents for army on campaign with a palisade, food on tables, with brick built accesories, maybe a small dragon attacking or as ally.

Yes, the piece count will probably be higher given the amount of details, vs the volume feeling of the set. I just hope is more cheaper $130 is better but not great. Not for the wallet at least. I understand you, I have a friend very similar to your case, I just felt like on graduation day Papa Lego was giving to the other siblings Ferrari and we the Castle brethen received an Audi. Ok that just sounded like a spoiled brat. But you got the point. Jealous of pirates too.

As I said earlier, I do like the set. Yes, it difers from the original design and the colours are more vivid, I dont mind the changes. I still think is a nice structure and seemingly a good build. What I dont like, if the price is indeed $150 , is that this set is lacking , Castle guys had received very few compared to other themes, let remember what space or pirates had received recently. Saturn V, Lunar Lander, Space Station, and a City Wave. Pirates of Barracuda Bay and Pirate Ship 3 in 1. (Are from very good to fabulous sets) This set is suppossed to be the love letter from Lego to the castle fans, yet on previous Castle sets, (Medieval Market, Kingdoms Joust) you can see more minifigs, more animals and a feeling of getting more for what you paid, even in area occuppied. I dont want to see a given horse in the mouth but A horse in tan, two falcons torsos and a pretty house for $150 seems cheap from Lego. They could give us more for that quantity. The current set value imo would suit better a $100-$120, if it would cost $100 Would buy 2 or 3 maybe, but for $150 if you buy 2 blacksmiths, for the same amount of money $300 you can get a Pirates of Barracuda Bay and the Pirate Ship 3 in 1. Or a police station and the Saturn V.

On Facebook or Youtube you can find them. I like the set, I agree with almost Grover said, but I am begining to feel upset with the rumour price tag. I mean for $50 you can get a Pirates of Barracuda Bay that is way way more superior to this one. I am not sure if I will buy this one, I really feel castle guys are kind of mistreated honestly.

I have seen the final product on a photo. 4 minifigs: one female archer/hunter, the blacksmith, 2 black falcons knights One horse on tan One husky

Glad you like the English Amperzand, I find their colours very eye catching and the emblems and flags also help. Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to change some, but sadly dont have that many spares to do so. They will have to risk their hands or be better at fighting. Thanks John, I find it more easy to incorporate new figs to the existing forces rather than collect on just some factions. I based the colours on the typical depiction of the armies on some drawings, and games also. I am planning to take a photo of more troops of the army and also of the civilians I have.

Is this the first photo of the upcoming LEGO Creator 31109 Pirate Ship?
Niku replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks! I think that been able to do some desings on the sails is very advantegous. I like that the ship has a medieval feeling too. Planning on getting other if the opportunity arises. And hoping for other designs on the sails to be done. -

Here is mine, I love the brick built haul, I find the sails as a strong point given you can customize them. -
Satan Claws oh my I love this Captain Flint is fun and also very well constructed. Thank you for sharing.

I transitioned in making armies based on the coat of arms and prefered to group them by colours. That way it doesnt matter if I only have 5 black falcons and 100 blue lions. To me it feels better as there is a variety among the ranks but can be easily paired as a faction in a easy visual manner. I also think about them in a more classic historical way, so have asigned them a kingdom allegiance. Here a some the red-white-yellow-gold: english the blue-red-gold-white: french the green-black-brown-yellow: italian the black-yellow-red: holy roman empire

What exactly constitutes a "real" Castle theme?
Niku replied to Lego David's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well maybe spirit was not the correct word to tell. I find it difficult to explain myself, pardon this. Tomorrow Lego could produce a new theme that has planes or spaceships mixed with pirates and put some flags, cannons and a parrot to the sets and it may have the pirate spirit-essence-substance but would totally not fit on what a pirate theme had been in the past (Yes I know there are space pirates examples but is like calling someone a ninja because is sneaky and silent, or cowboy just because it wears a hat) There are lot more characteristics and traits to a ninja or cowboy to fit the description, and yes it might fall on the cliche or archetype but is preferable to a ninja wearing a yellow raincoat, throwing pizzas instead of shurikens and a cowboy using a falx and riding an elephant. I see a theme as the sum of its parts and when you weight the quantity of those parts that do not match the overall of a theme it feels strange. May be cool or not, but is strange. Nexo Knights as said earlier has useful parts and some cool villains but thats it. It differs so much of castle in execution and intention. It is an odd mix that imo went bad as a theme. I may be fixated about this but I can see a proper castle only as classic or fantasy(fantasy can be streched but it has boundaries/limits). Beyond that it might be something cool or strange but not castle. And respect those of you that like NK just not my cup of tea. -

I consider Castle all waves from the first on 1978 to the last on 2013, some are great other not so much but all is castle. I like the classic look and feel yet I also have on high regard as well the fantasy aspect. But to me Nexo is not Castle. Has futuristic, sci fi elements that truly feel they dont belong in the spirit of castle. -
It is a horse leg, actually on the retreat it is calculated due to heavy snow and therefore the loss of vegetation, the majority of horses died of starvation at a rate of 1000 daily, the army turn to eat them.

Thank you I based this moc in some paints that caught my eye for that theme, I can only imagine the circumstances and those persons must have suffered deeply. I feel honored to have made you imagine that song, it must mean the moc transmits some of what I intended it to. I am planning on building more from this theme and era, so there might be other pics in the future.
