  1. The problem is that he'd end up looking like just another clone commander that we've seen- red markings, pauldron, funny CW-edition kama, and two pistols. That's it. We just don't know enough about him to make him different enough from any other clone, other than that he favors heavy weaponry. Maybe if we got the phase II version of him?
  2. Here's my theory- all the '1.5' troopers we've seen all seem to be fairly important, with kamas, pauldrons, color markings, and some sort of extra armor. I think these might be some sort of special unit, that is simply testing the armor. Hence, they haven't changed the fin yet. I hope they change the clones' armor for phase II. It bugs me how the only thing they ever change with a new unit is the helmet. ARF troopers- same body. Senate Commandos? Same body (all right, they're not clones, but still.). The only troops who have different armor pieces are the Republic Commandos and the Cold Assault troopers. Oh, just you wait. If they can give Anakin a Padawan, make Mandalorians pacifists, and screw up the Boba timeline, they can mess with Asajj, too.
  3. They did something similar with the Mandos. They didn't want Jango or Boba to be overshadowed by the Death Watch, so they made them all look like Jango. It made no sense. Yay. Sometimes this was very irritating. I know it's the 'style', but they still just look like models running around, not characters.
  4. The Celebration V trailer is now available on starwars.com. I have to say, it's pretty sweet. From what I can see so far: -Asajj seems to have a new outfit- she's talking to Dooku, and you can see she has a black neck thing, which if memory serves is the same as her original costume before the CW came around. -She also has her old Sith ship! -Supposedly Sideous tells Dooku to eliminate his assassin. So, either Asajj dies just as she's about to be cool, or she goes rogue. -Nightsisters -Asajj's body being carried by nightsisters? -Republic Commandos (Delta!) -A Seperatist version of the Senate Rotunda, but rectangular. -Coruscant on fire (again) -Death Watch is back -Echo and Fives are back from Rookies. I'll post screenshots later!
  5. Aw, looks like no one's interested. I assumed that one or two people would be within driving distance from Legoland. Oh well! I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures.
  6. No, because Boba as a character was created before Bane, so they wanted to model a 'cool bounty hunter' off of him. Technically I suppose Boba is the next Jango.
  7. I wouldn't be so sure- Some sort of cubic-style city pops up, which might just be Mandalore (Err... the CW Mandalore, that is ) All in all, I'm a little apprehensive about season 3, and mostly because of these new clones- I really hope they're not Commandos. Why? Because we already have commandos, and they look like this: In other words, pretty awesome. Instead, we get the bucket-headed troops who look like they're wearing padded cotton armor. I'll post some various screenshots I got from the clip: Hmm... a little bit of a strange location to be training on. I thought they used simulated landscapes, not Tron? I can't say I understand the point of a 'phase 1.5' clone. The only thing that's different about them is that the fin is still pointy. What with millions of clones out there to procure armor for, that's a pretty pointless change, isn't it? I hope the designers didn't just forget.
  8. As good as a lot of the episode's action was, it had a few major drawbacks for me. For one, the dialogue- the stupid contest that Anakin and Ahsoka have going on about who can kill the most droids is rediculous. It detracts from the otherwise serious episode- It's a disaster, they have massive casualties, and yet they joke about it? You think that they'd be grim, sensing all the death in the force. Another thing that confused me, yet offered no explanation, were all the different clones. The different unit markings made sense- one group is Anakin's, one group is Obi Wan's, and the unsa-unsa Bose troopers were Ki-adi's. What I didn't get where the snowtroopers- why were they in there? This is geonosis! The other part that annoyed me (in a much smaller way) was the attack on the wall. The wall was silly-looking, with all these little turrets going 'pew pew pew'. Not scary. And their attack plan was stupid- the clones all milled in front of the wall and got cut down. That said, I liked the episode. I liked it when Obi-Wan was injured- it shows that Jedi are still just people. They also did a much better job of making him look injured than Anakin season 1.
  9. Hmm. I'm loving the back of it. The cockpit is nice. However, I'm not liking the nose. The SNOT nose just doesn't blend with the wings at all. The price is also disgusting, but I've wanted a UCS JSF for so long that I might overlook that detail.
  10. Looks good, but not terribly good. This is a sort of hit-or-miss set that I'll get if there aren't any other UCS sets. However, I still have to get the Imperial Flagship and (eventually) the UCS Jedi Starfighter and Imperial Shuttle. So, this goes at the bottom of the list. It would have been nice if they kept an even baseplate size and maybe added a few boats.
  11. Well, if you pretend that he's the animated CW Grievous, he was pretty much 10 feet (4.3 m if you're a metric...) of solid awesome. So, that's be about right. I like what you did with the legs- I might have to try it myself. I'm not so sure about the arms, though. They stick up too far. If it's for a head-on shot it works, but if you take his cloak off (which is great, by the way), then he's probably going to look a little strange. Still, I'll have to try it to really get my own opinion.
  12. Hello, I'll be vacationing in Europe pretty soon, and I'll be passing through Denmark- so that means legoland! (How can I not go? ) I'll probably be going through around August 9th- if anyone lives nearby, would they be interested in meeting at legoland?
  13. Pretty much... the clones are skinnier than I am. And that's saying something. I agree. liked the clone armor he war in the animated series, with some jedi robes over it. Oh, and a lance.
  14. Arg, looks like Youtube removed the link. starwars.com Here are some pictures of various new characters. Not sure who that first Jedi is (a Nikto?) Ani, Obi and Ahskoka, weren't expecting them. Next. Shaak Ti just looks funny to me. Her head-tails are just too big for her head, and her narrow, pointy chin and hands don't help. Then we get an phase II clone! Woo! Looks like he's sporting some extra armor. But what's wrong with his upper arm? I know they've always been like that, but... it's so exposed. And skinny. It seems that with Phase II they would've had a chance to fix that. And then another phase I clone commander. Sweet armor detail, but can't they come up with some other weapon than dual pistols?
  15. Hmmm...I can't say I'm terribly fond of the JSF. It's kind of small for a UCS (which is fine, since it's a small ship anyway), but if they're going to make it UCS, they can at least get the shape right... right? Must not comment on price....
  16. Excellent. I love it. Brickdoctor's has you beat on detail, but yours are very surdy, not too fragile. If I had a good AT-RT, I know I'd like to swoosh it. Why can't TLC do this? This is so much better than the two-seater thing in the BP.
  17. An interesting detail in Children of the Force: This was the only episode in which the designers freed the elbow and knee armor plates from the forearm and knee plates. In the next episode, they put them back. It was a shame really, I liked them the way they were supposed to be in the movies. Except for Obi-Wan- his elbow plates looked like they were going to put someone's eye out. Children of the Force bordered on good. I don't remember enough except for bits and pieces, so I'm not going to give a full score, but I agree, using the Force to determine where Cad Bane was going seemed really weak. Senate Spy- Ugh. One of the things that killed the prequels to me was t he political talk. It was boring, it wasn't logical, and the characters always sounded so stale...but those were the prequels.
  18. Hmm, good question. Obi-Wan told Luke to 'Go to the Dagobah system...', which gives a name, sure, but if it's not on any map, then how does Luke get there? It's not like he can just program a name into the computer and go and find it. He needs coordinates. However, they might never have been on Dagobah- sure, it was a cave. There was mist. But, Anakin and Qui-Gon never had time to go to Dagobah, so either there was something similar in the Jedi Temple or it was a dream. I don't think the idea of Grievous killing Ahsoka works. Anakin would have gone on a rampage after that, and he seemed very casual when he met Grievous on the Invisible Hand. "You must be General Grievous. You're shorter than I expected," just wouldn't be something that a vengeful Anakin would say.
  19. Hey, why haven't I looked at these? I don't know. I just spent the last hour looking at all the previous reviews. I think Cargo of Doom was one of my favorite episodes. The only negative things I have to say about it were the recurring issues- bad battle droid humor. Another design flaw was that Magnaguards only seem to be lackeys- they can't even talk. In the Ep. III book, these guys were battle-scarred, intelligent hunters. But oh well. I've complained about it before. My favorite part about this episode was the zero-grav battle. This is something that I've always wanted to see in SW. The battle was very well done, with combatants floating around everywhere or magnetized to the floors or ceiling. Battle droids and clones just suddenly stopped moving after being hit, and started drifting around was very cool and just slightly chilling.
  20. That sounds sweet. The 'blue baseball bat' had me laughing- it's true, and that was one of the annoyances of the game. Force Fury looks sweet- ideal for moments when you just thnk, "Ah, crap" as something big comes through the door. Starkiller had better not be a clone. The idea of a clone somehow knowing the memories of his cloned self is completely ridiculous. Also, how would he know all his combat techniques? If it took the original Starkiller years to master them, how would this clone just 'know'? However, I think we're getting hints that Vader is just lying to him.
  21. See? This is what I get for not paying attention to the entries. Now I'm late. I think you've done a great job here. My favorite part is the blocky, red and yellow explosion. It matches the artwork of the series perfectly. As for the troops, I agree with KielDaMan- some custom weapons, decals, and especially MMCB's wonderful pauldrons and kamas would have gone wonderfully here. As Oki said, the actual room seems pretty sparse. I think including a wall, like the one Durge blasts through, would have been great. Come to that, Durge would have been great!
  22. Go ahead! Yeah.. However, in the first one, if you managed to get right up in front of the droideka, they can't shoot you. From there you can wait until their shield goes off and shoot them point blank. But yes, that's something I've noticed with a few troops. I found it most annoying with the jet trooper, who was really fun with his EMP, 6 grenades, and extra-powerful pistol. They just didn't seem as good in the second one... but maybe that was because I got the award rifle for the regular trooper, making all the other troops pretty worthless.
  23. Of course, the reason the big sets have the exclusive figs is because they are often what attract the eye, and help give that extra bump to buy the set. I certainly think that we need to see some good, smaller sets. Currently, the only quality builds we have are in the large sets. SW, for example, includes models in its army builders that are really throwaways- the speeder in the ep. III clone set was crap, and is instantly dismantled. The only models I've kept from battlepacks have been the STAP and the snowtrooper speeder bike. See a pattern here? Lego seems to be very fond of its vehicles, especially in SW. So, why don't they do this? There are plenty of nice, small vehicles in SW that would do fine on their own, yet are delegated to the large sets as fillers. It seems to me that the small vehicles can get taken out, while improving the quality of the main focus of the set, like covering up a technic beam on the AT-TE or whatever. Yet, the small vehicles are great as playability in the large sets. Of course, Endor would be no fun if it was just a bunker, with the AT-ST and speeder bikes sold separately. I feel, though, that lego needs to pursue the add-on yet stand-alone aspect of sets. I would've liked the idea of the $90 Endor bunker with the optional $10 Ewok catapult.
  24. Well, at least the cockpit isn't blue in this one... I suppose that's an improvement over 4483. Meh, I'm not a fan of this one, and I'll stick to my old one. What really bums me out, though, is that lego just isn't likely to make a UCS or even semi-UCS model for a long time- seeing as this one came so recently after the motorized version, I don't think a UCS version will be in demand. Oh well, at least we have the shuttle to keep us happy. It's a bit of a bummer that we have to attach the landing gear, and that there's no landing ramp... but that's what modding is for, isn't it?
  25. I certainly agree. Since I couldn't find any in my local stores, so I ordered two off of S@H, and received the spaceman and the clown. The quality is meh. The plastic is too soft, and next to a normal fig, it just doesn't match. I loved the idea of the figures- all the new parts and prints were amazing. With this new plastic, though, I just don't want to use it. It seems like they're taking advantage of our obsession with new minifig stuff. They expect us not to care about the quality as long as we get new hairpieces or face printing. But what's so great about new parts that don't fit in with the old ones?
