  1. Looks like they want to know what we do online. Is this a sign that they want to be able to visit these sites to see 'FOL's opinions?
  2. Although it does have a lot of iconic TS figs- this means I'll be able to get them in a set I actually want. With a little modding, this is going to be a great display set.
  3. I liked this set when I was 10 or so. It's certainly pretty neat- both models are pretty solid, and the transforming feature is one of the best that lego has tried. It's not too difficult, but it works well enough so that kids have endless fun going back and forth between them.
  4. That sounds too good to be true. Hopefully it will be good... anything free is good with me, though.
  5. Funny- our local paper recently ran an article on model builders. I was wondering if there had been any articles on AFOLs, and well... here we go. That's neat that you got the coverage. The Tetris MOC is great.
  6. While I like Boba's helmet, the torso just doesn't work...As a minifig, he needs to have the armor scaled to match his proportions. Ah well, I can just take the cape, helmet, and jetpack and put it on the old Boba. Bossk is pretty neat. While I think he shouldn't be green, I don't mind- at least it's nice to have him at all. Han is pretty ho-hum. Just a few extra creases on his shirt... I don't like fleshie anyway, so I'll never use him.
  7. Although I don't have any room for another theme, Kingdoms is looking great. I might have to either sacrifice the old Fantasy castle or merge it if I have the pieces. The figs are looking good. Too bad they don't all have leg printing, though. So many other themes, do...why not Castle?
  8. That is an amazing idea for a chain-link fence.
  9. Hey, I didn't say I didn't like it. I thought it was a decent episode. Although I would have preferred Ahsoka to be the beast's protector, I still liked it- the CGI in this episode is the best we've seen so far. Plus, they added a lot of little details. I liked the landing lights for the gunships, and the spotlights for the LAAT/c ships. The new tanks were pretty neat, too. I wonder if we'll be able to see the larger varient we saw in Ep. II again... All the quiet Godzilla references were pretty neat, too. The two clone pilots both had Godzila-themed helmets, as well as the tactical droid. Really? That'll be neat, if it's done well. There's the possibility of seeing Grievous actually being cool, or there's the possibility of more battle droid slapstick humor... (Which can be done well, but mostly I don't care for it- it gives the droids too much character.)
  10. That's funny- Trespass is one of my favorite episodes, while Bombad Jedi was one of my least. Just saw "The Zillo Beast." The Dugs struck me as rather rediculous. Malastare didn't seem to have very high gravity, which is a shame since this is something I'd really like to see in SW. Not all planets have a gravital acceleration of 9.8 m/s squared... It seems to me that a Dug would have been perfectly adapted for living in treetops. Stong arms and light, weak legs seem ideal for swinging through trees. Their weapons also seemed useless. Charging into battle with electric prods? Really? Mace's quarrel with the Dug leader over the Zillo beast seemed rediculous. While I agree that the Zillo beast is neat and all, and that it should be preserved, it did not seem like the time or place to make the argument, what with the creature being legendary for destroying civilizations. Mace didn't seem like the right person to do it, either... Mace is a good person, yes, but his main concern is saving people, so this little light-heared save-the-monster take on him didn't suit him at all. I think Ahsoka would have been the better choice. Wasn't she supposed to be there with Anakin, anyway? On the other hand, the visuals in this episode were stunning. We finally got to see a large-scale battle, not the usual small groups running into each other every once and a while. This definately has "Landing at Point Rain" surpassed in numbers. We get to see ARC-170s, now, too. I didn't see any clones with the open helmets, though.
  11. Great models, although I can't say I like the white feet of the AT-TE. Did you choose that color for any particular reason?
  12. So that's what she says. I watched the preview several times and I couldn't figure out what she was saying. That's my main concern- Boba looks very worried and cautious- he's even hiding his face in the preview when they're on the hologram. We know Aura Sing hates Jedi, so that's fine- but Boba just had his dad killed...you think he'd be more angry. Dang it, I liked the Zillo idea until you meantioned Godzilla. Seeing as the second episode ends up with the Zillo beast somehow on Coruscant, this looks like some mix between Godzilla and King Kong. If the Zillo beast ends up climbing the Jedi Temple towers with Padme in its claws... Another episode with Artoo? "Friday, April 30: "R2 Come Home" -- When a band of bounty hunters leads Anakin and Mace into a deadly trap on Vanqor, it's up to R2-D2 to battle his way back to Coruscant and warn the Jedi. " I'd prefer more "deadly trap on Vanqor" to "R2-D2's Amazing Journey."
  13. They're posting the same thing on starwars.com. Personally I feel that this could be hilarious, branching off of the RC episodes into its own thing- sort of a "day in the life of ___" type thing, but with an edge toward humor. However, I'm expecting it to be terrible... Not just because I'm a pessimist, but mostly because it's buy the same people as "Backyardigans" and "Back at the barnyard"- both kid's shows. I've also heard somehwere before that they were making an even more <insert that tiresome argument> animated series, because the CW was "getting too dark."
  14. It's not just season one- it seems to come off and on whenever the animators need it. I was browsing the episodes recently, and took a look at Duchess of Mandalore. In this episode, Obi-wan gets angry and starts Force-bashing the Mando assassin into the walls before throwing him off a balcony. And yet Anakin couldn't just Force-push Hondo off of a cliff?
  15. The rest of this season's episodes: Friday, April 9: "The Zillo Beast" -- The Republic's new super-weapon awakens the fearsome Zillo Beast of Malastare. Now the Jedi must devise a way to contain the deadly creature. Friday, April 16: "The Zillo Beast Strikes Back" -- Republic forces bring the Zillo Beast back to Coruscant for study. When it escapes, the Jedi must choose between saving millions of lives and destroying the Zillo Beast, the last of its kind. Friday, April 23: "Death Trap" -- A young boy wages war against the Jedi Knights who left him orphaned, bitter and alone. Along the way, he enlists the aid of some of the galaxy's most ruthless and deadly bounty hunters. Friday, April 30: "R2 Come Home" -- When a band of bounty hunters leads Anakin and Mace into a deadly trap on Vanqor, it's up to R2-D2 to battle his way back to Coruscant and warn the Jedi. Friday, April 30: "Lethal Trackdown" -- After combing the Coruscant underworld for a young fugitive, Plo Koon and Ahsoka pursue him to Florrum for a climactic confrontation. A climactic confrontation? With young Boba Fett? Maybe he kills Ahsoka. EDIT: Ooh! Linky to SW.com's Boba Fett preview. Looks good, but why is Mace holding Jango's battered helmet? Boba sticks to his dad's helmet like glue.
  16. I thought Bounty Hunters was a great episode. I could definately see it modeled after "The Seven Samurai." Sugi and Embo were good characters, and Embo was my favorite- great character design, and the most lethal. Sugi didn't do much, but the fact that she had Boba Fett's pistol made up for it. Plus, she did a good job as the group's leader. However, the other two were either never explored, or fairly pathetic. Rumi did absolutely nothing. Even though she was a sniper, it was Embo who ran all the way up the cliff to go kill the Weequay. That's all right, though, as it was a great fight. Seripas was a huge dissapointment. I had some high hopes for him, being massive and looked to be stylized after the Egyptians. All he did was stand around and look menacing... in reality, it was some clunky, slow-moving robotic suit piloted by some twerpy alien. Overall, it was a great episode. I liked the ejection capsules (although I swear I've seen them before), and the Felucia scenery was beautifully done.
  17. Happy B-day, SuvieD, if you're still around! Where, oh where has that monkey gone?
  18. I can't say I'm terribly excited. I wasn't a fan of the first two films, for the same reasons cited above. Too little plot, too much camera shake, too much Chevy product placement, and too much sex focus. Of course, I'm trying to be optomistic. I'd like to see them visit Cybertron, and I'd like to see some character development.. but again, it's a Bay film, so I'm not expecting to see something that's had a lot of care lavished on it.

Neat little model. It looks a lot like a whale- was this intended, or purely coincidence from the loose building plan?
  20. Is it just me, or does his tunic look like he's wearing a barber's dress?
  21. Bah. I'm not impressed, at least for now. While a step up from the motorized version, it's still not as accurate as 4483. One of my usual reasons for buying a 'meh' set is also out the window- no good figs. I'll only consider buying it if 1)It's well priced, although as a TRU exclusive I'm not getting my hopes up. I will be very surprised if this is under $100. 2)It changes, as it is currently preliminary, or 3) Has a totally awesome interior, like Deino's suggestions. Here are some complaints, although most are minor and easily modded. -Less detailed legs. The shoulder (or is it hip? ) piece is too small. The lack of printing doesn't help, although I'd expect this to be fixed later. Also, the ankle has less detailing, and looks like 4483's stripped bare. As Klaus-dieter said, the light bley tiles on the upper part just seem wierd. -Less detailed head. The main side cannons have been replaced with massive, less detailed cannons. -Random tiles. All right, what's up with those randomly placed 2x2 bley tiles on the side? There's no point to them... One of the things I liked about 4483 was the nice transitions between studs and tile pieces. It gave it a neat texture, IMO. The bottom of the large plates they formed also had a nice transition from the light grey (yes, old) to dark grey. ...Oh, and what's up with that turret? Also not an improvement. Considering the price markups, as well as the other odds and ends, I wouldn't be suprised if this cost more. I agree...I'm just glad I don't have a TRU near me, so I don't get tempted into buying new sets. I suppose we're being harsh...at least they actually made a few changes to it. *points finger at X-wing and Slave 1 accusingly*
  22. Wow. And here I thought that this was a mod. Great job! I like the use of the wheels as shoulders.
  23. Thank you for your very thorough review! I'll be adding this to the list of sets I really should have gotten when I had the chance. Although, the overly long engine pods are going to really bug me whenever I see it now.
  24. I think most of my annoyances of Anakin are from his bad design (What are those things on his elbows?!) and his bad actor. He forces his quotes too much, and doesn't sound normal at all. I actually liked Trenches death. While I liked the idea of a competent character, I wish they hadn't used the spider design for him. But I'm really glad he died because it showed the show maturing. This is the consequence of losing in battle, not escaping yet again, while shouting, "I'll be back, Jedi!" Oh, and I thought that this from the ep. guide was hilarious: Greeblies? What will be nice is that Boba will be voiced by the same kid who did him in the movie, Daniel Logan. Although the next episode is two weeks away...
  25. Personally, I'm loving the turn towards the old classic castle theme. I was really getting tired of the 'Humans vs. Orcs' theme. I liked the Skellies, and I was hoping that we'd get a third faction of baddies, but that was not to be. After seeing so many themes of humans versus monsters, I'm just happy to see some more open, human vs. human action. I understand that some of you, in particular you adults who had classic castle sets as kids, may think it's getting boring. And you're right, it can get boring, if TLC sticks to its timeless strategy of generic castles. But, I think we've seen TLC move in a new direction. TLC can provide new things- this year, it's new figs with greathelms, and other parts in dark silver. I know we saw figs with leg printing in the toy fairs, but that looks like it's not going to happen. I think lego still has a lot of fresh ideas to try. I would personally love to see them try to move in a new direction with castle, perhaps something similar to forestmen or wolfpack. If lego can manage to keep its castle themes seperate and distinct, I think castle can survive for a long, long time.
