Unfortunate for us, good sales plan for them, though. However, I don't think they'll need it- this may be the first time that I'm ever going to get more than two of any set. I want a ton of the Mando BPs, almost as many clone ones... I'm not terribly fond of the BS trooper, but we'll see if it changes. The Naboo set is basically a large battle pack- I've always wanted one of those carrier things. Perfect for rounding out my MTT. I'll probably be getting two or three.
-
Except that everybody in the Death Watch had them- they were all flying around. Oh well- hopefully this will be fixed along with the clone's arm, but I'm doubting it.
-
I would say that it is very imbalanced. There just aren't enough Dragon troops, and their only 'castle' is a prison tower with some pretty bad security flaws. I really hope the line lasts longer- I would love to see a more Dragon-oriented wave.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Interesting. Funny how Filoni gives so much thought to this, and how serious he is on showing a detail like Plo Koon's face. Yet, they're willing to completely turn around some other EU aspect like Mandalorians, Boba Fett, and quite possibly the Nightsisters? I'd say it's probably because Filoni is a huge Plo Koon fan, so he puts a lot of work into Plo Koon's character (which is why he's one of the more awesome Jedi in the CW). Not that this is really a bad thing... I'd probably have been the same way about Mandos and Boba if I were in charge(MANDOS KILL JEDI THEYRE THE BEST!!!!11!... possibly what killed Traviss's reputation). -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Corvus replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That would be my guess. Sure, we know which blasters go to clones, which go to stormtroopers, what goes to Han Solo... but a lot of people don't. So, a lot of kids aren't going to care that they have Princess Leia waving around a DC-15 blaster. Also, it's a sorting nightmare- I'm sure there would be plenty of screwups in which the wrong blasters go into the wrong set. -

So do I. I don't really like the Black Pearl- it's an ugly ship, and I really don't want to see a lego ship made out of almost all black parts. I'd much prefer the Interceptor. It's more colorful, plus I can modify it to the Lady Washington, which is the real ship that they used for the Interceptor. But if it's from the new movie, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be a good one. -

Actually, I think you're right. There's a sneak peak on iTunes (free) that shows some new stuff. The first minute is entirely new stuff- I think it's actually a segment (or segments) of one of the Kamino episodes. It's pretty sweet. The rest is an old trailer. The scenes with the growth tanks crashing is pretty creepy. The idea of hundreds of unborn children dying like that isn't something that you'd see in a kid's show, even implication like it is. Then again, the idea of humans being made to fight with their lives artificially accelerated is also nasty. Something they don't really seem to think about on this show... -

New video on SW.com in which some actors and sound people pat themselves on the back for how cinematic the series is. I agree with that, mostly- Some episodes had some pretty sweeping scenes and were absolutely beautiful to watch. Now, can the get to work on the dialogue, or perhaps some of the original character's designs? Oh, I will eventually get the season set- when it comes out. But that's not until months after the season is over and the next has already begun.. -
The Theta wasn't that bad... well, out of the box it was. After changing out all the white, dk tan, and red, and then building a SNOT fin, it's actually a fairly nice vehicle. Anyway, I'm not expecting much to change except for the figs. Usually pics like these change little... they're already on the box art. Maybe a few token changes.
-
I think the wirst part of all is that the wings aren't SNOT- the other side shows the underside of the plates. The Bounty Hunter's ship looks good, though. Are those prison bars on the back of the ship?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

I usually do, too. The risk of viruses are high, and I just hate trying to find a site- usually you have to join, download something, etc., which I really don't want to do. However, now that I'm at college, I don't have access to a TV. Nor do I want to watch the CW on SW.com- the quality is terrible, and the quality of some of the renderings is wasted. -
Wow, now that's quite an entrance. I'm sure you'll be welcome on EB- a long, well-constructed opinion on new sets is always welcome. True- I'd be skeptical too, especially when I heard that it would have two standard clones. Fortunately, that was wrong. It would be nice to have an actual BARC speeder, but again, it's hard to judge, with such a small picture. I agree. Mandos are well known to be a riot of color. I was at least hoping for Pre Vizsla...Fortunately, this will be great for customizers. The advantage is that it's the new helmet, and there are four in each set- there are lots of people out there who are good with paint and decals. I can't wait to see what they come up with. As you said, they're prelims- notice that Quinlan Vos's head is just Boba's head with yellow tape. I hope it stays that way- I certainly don't want them to be CW heads. With Shaak Ti, it's hard to tell- part of her head is white, so I can't tell if her eyes are standard or if we just can't see all of it.

I got the set yesterday, and I have to say, I'm liking this set more than I thought I would. Sure it's pricey, but I noticed that TLC was more generous with parts than it usually is. For example, some studs were topped off with tiles, and it felt like a more solid set than usual. I dunno, maybe it's just me. As for the figures, they're great. The commandos are great (although they need black heads...I have enough clone heads). Cad is also neat- I was surprised by his hat. It was more oval-shaped than I was expecting.
-
Wow, I'm late. (What a great time to miss out! I was moving into my dorm) Thoughts: Mando BP Nice. Looks like there's a mini speeder, like in the episode. The Mandos look good, although I can't say I'm sold yet on the new pistols. They look too rounded off. Maybe it's just the prelim mold. Clone BP Urgh, it's not a commando. Still it's nice to have Eeth Koth's trooper. I'm dissapointed that there are two bomb squad troopers- I don't want an army of bomb disposal experts. I'd rather have more ARF or Eeth Koth troopers. Imperial V-Wing No comment on the set- I really can't tell much. The minifig and droid, however, look amazing. Battle of Naboo Sweet. I've always wanted that droid carrier. It looks like we have a new Jar-Jar, as well as that captain that with the hood thing over his eyes- he's on the box art. Bounty Hunter Gunship Sweet. Finally, Aurra Sing. With Embo and Sugi, to boot. Interesting that the image shows a picture of that clawdite in the first episode. The ship looks good, too- I'd like more anonymous ships in my SW universe. I have far too many starfighters. T-6 Shuttle Also great. Not a big ship, as most of it is wing, but at least there's a cockpit. I can't comment on any of the figs, as they're all prelims- Even Vos- his head is just Boba Fett's with a yellow sticker over it.
-
Wow, I think there are some major plot spoilers in that list. So now I guess there's going to be an episode on Aurra Sing with Sugi and Embo in it? Sweet. As excited as I am about getting a commando, I'm cautious. Sometimes people just aren't as picky about names as fans are- it could simply be a standard clone with some special feature (pauldron, kama, something...). But if it is a commando, then TLC has guaranteed that I'll be buying four for a full squad. Looks like Death Watch in the other BP.... also awesome. It'd be nice to have some variation, as I'm sure they're all going to be the same, but I'm not complaining. Lego doesn't make that many generic Mandos. Three new Jedi? Phew. Shame they're going to be CW faces, though. Actually, they should. Not only do they have no fin, but their visor is mostly blue. The shape of the helmet is also fairly different, and with TLC's recent habit of being very accurate in their helmet designs, the result could be amazing. Or oversized.

Why? Do you not like them, or do you just not want them to be ruined? I mean that in the trailer we see her getting carried away- and it looked like she was dead. Instead, the clip in Oky's link shows her collapsing and getting carried off to the village. She may still die, but at least it's not on the trailer. -

Yeah, those titles are pretty bad. Which makes me kinda suspicious. The Commandos look good. They're not perfectly accurate, which is all right, since they had to be adapted to the rediculous proportions of the clones anyway. The battle between Dooku and the assassins looks awesome. So, Asajj doesn't die... -
I do like vigs. So lots of minifigs, small parts, and plates seems good. I'm currently undecided on storage. I've mostly been sorting colors in preparation to sort them up by part from there. However, this is too much of a hassle and it does take up lots of room. I think I'll just stick with color, for now. I might sort a little big, separating bricks, plates, and so on. It's hard hard, finding a line between too general and too specific. I suppose everyone has their preference.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Whoops. I meant to say something, but I forgot. Here goes: I have to say, I really don't like their relationship. I find it awkward, forced, and unfunny. 'Snips' came completely out of nowhere in the movie. That said, I don't mind Ahsoka herself. She's not badly designed as a character (as opposed to Anakin), which is very important to me. She says less stupid things than Anakin, mostly. I'd actually prefer it if she were Plo Koon's padawan- their relationship just seems so much more natural. Anakin just isn't the kind of guy to train a padawan- he's young, headstrong, and has little experience himself. -
I'm going to college in three days, and I really haven't decided what to do with my lego. Obviously, I can't bring it all. I can't bring any large setup. My collection now is sprawling. It's covering a four-by-eight foot table, so if there's something I'm not using, it can get shoved to the back of the table. Well, I just don't have the room for that. My new dorm room is eight feet by ten. Fortunately, I'll have it all to myself, so I don't have to worry about a roommate stepping on any bricks. Here's the problem- we can' t have any shelves. I was planning to bring a few things along with some IKEA shelves, but now I can't do that. And I really don't trust those adhesive shelves enough to put an AT-AT on. I've lofted my bed, and I plan to put some sort of table under there, solely for lego. I might bring one or two models for decoration, but I really need bricks. So here's my question- what bricks are best in a limited number? My plan is to bring several small (shoebox sized) boxes, each sorted by color. Also- photography. I don't have room for a lightbox. I was wondering what canvas or other material would look good as a backdrop. Looking forward to lots of interesting discussion!

I'm 18, going to college in three days. My biggest hurdle to overcome has been the social aspect of it. I'm a fairly shy person, and I have a harder time being comfortable with walking through a store with a lego box, or just explaining it to someone. I actually have an easier time showing my collection to someone in person- people 'get' it more when they see something big like the Eiffel tower and an array of bricks sitting next to an unfinished moc/mod. I've found that it hasn't been my friends who make fun of my collection, but my sister's. My sister and her friends are far more mainstream and popular than I am, and I've occasionally overheard them making fun of me in another room or in passing. My friends tend to be more intellectual or have offbeat interests themselves. Two I know like to blast classical music from their cars, just because they're amused at destroying the loud music stereotype. So, I think it really depends on the people you know. If they don't like it, they're not the right kind of friends. I also have a crunch on money. I worked as an unpaid intern for five days a week at a museum. When I got home, I'm tired and I sometimes smell of bird or porcupine crap (I work with animals). So, I really don't have time to get another part-time job. The only money I make has been doing household chores. So I've had to make decisions about what I want. My PS2 is on the fritz. Do I get a PS3? I also have very little games. I'd like more games. However, those can be expensive, sometimes 40-60 bucks a pop. I recently bought a new camera lens- those really aren't cheap, but I decided that the lens was something that I can really use. Like others, I don't MOC very much. At least, I don't take pictures, as they're a hassle. So I don't really participate in EB as much as I could, and I don't participate in what are some really neat threads about building. When I go to college, I plan to take a small amount of parts with me, just to build with. My side plan is to really make it a hobby- learn techniques, really teach myself to actually build- SNOT comes to mind.
-
I tried the same thing. Probably why it didn't work with me, either. I really love two-sided faces, but they are a pain to use sometimes, especially with hair.
-
As a side note, Shaak Ti was also killed in a deleted scene in Episode III when Grievous stabs her on Invisible Hand. We're thirty pages in, and I haven't even commented on anything. Way behind... 7913 Clone Trooper Battle Pack About time we got some new clones. I'm not too happy about a standard clone being in there (Don't you think we've already had enough?!) but we get an ARF trooper and a bomb squad trooper- awesome. The bomb squad troopers are neat. I wonder if there's a fourth, different trooper. Perhaps there's just going to be two standard clonies... 7914 Mandalorian Battle Pack Well, I'm glad I didn't buy Slave I, then. I'm assuming that they're going to be the new molds and Death Watch. 7915 Imperial V-Wing Star Fighter Judging by the price, this'll be pretty small. I really hope they do something different, and not the same design as the Ep. III version. 7929 The Battle Of Naboo The only thing I expect from this are a few Gungans, droids, and Kadu. The nice thing about aliens in the CW is that they're reusable elsewhere. 7930 Bounty Hunter Gunship Heh. I guess I'll wait until season three for an answer... 7931 T6 Jedi Shuttle Hopefully they can do a good job on it for $80. That ship has a lot of wing surface on it, so the majority of the set will be pieces for the wing. Not much minifig room.

I've counted three so far--there was a blue one being strangled by Asajj-- but I doubt it as well. There's really no point in attaching the name Fordo to a red 1.5 clone. The only things that distinguishes Fordo in any way are his gunship and his cadre of ARC lieutenants.
