  1. Yes. I love this idea. I just got the game last christmas and I've been playing it ever since. It would be a lot of fun to be able to play it with other EB members. I'm going to embarrass myself at it, but hey. Steam username: Accipiter1138 TF2 username: Corvus
  2. *Minor nitpicks ahead* When someone is leaving on a secret mission, it's probably not the best idea to take off from the Jedi Temple in broad daylight. I'm sure someone would be watching the Temple, and I'm sure someone would notice a Seperatist shuttle taking off from it. I'm not sure how they managed to land on that cliff side without being noticed immediately. I think they could do well with some basic radar tech. Does anyone know what that balcony was for? Plot convenience? It didn't seem to lead anywhere. The clone's guns are making squawky noises again... Commando droids: The reason why all clones need vibroblades in their gauntlets. Because punching them just doesn't work. These are all pretty minor complaints, nothing that's going to stop me from enjoying this episode. Every sci-fi story ever has had these minor problems. Hell, every action flick does this sort of thing. I like that we're back to the action-packed episodes, and I look forward to the rest of the arc.
  3. I'm guessing it has something to do with time. Han was frozen for a few months or so, so he was blind. In the EU, there are people who have been frozen for years who have worse troubles, such as memory loss. Here's what I'm scratching my head on, though: How does carbonite work through armor? Surely it couldn't have just gone through whatever opening in the neck seal on the clones.
  4. Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time. He's designed sort of funny, though. Do his arms look too skinny to anyone else?

Happy birthday, Ras! Don't have too much fun.
  6. I find the idea of a Transformers building set awesome. I really do. I don't care if it's Hasbro that makes it, and I don't even mind if they borrow one or two basic concepts from LEGO, such as the gripping system. However, I find what they did appalling- they took a massive shortcut, and pretty much directly hacked off some of LEGO's pieces. Not just basic pieces, either, but specialized pieces that LEGO developed in the past few years. I want to see what LEGO's official reaction will be. My guess is that they're going to submit to Hasbro. They've folded before on the subject of the battle packs, and I think they're going to fold again. They just don't want to duke it out with Hasbro. Moreover, I'm not sure that they could win a case- while the plagiarism is obvious to us, I don't think a court is going to care enough, or Hasbro is going to pull the same stunt that MB pulled when LEGO challenged them over their line. If this was an original line, I'd have full support. If they were quality plastic, I'd buy one or two. But as it is, all I can think of is just how much of a waste it was that Hasbro did these, and that Hasbro is a piece of hypocritical crap.
  7. Goodbye, Zorro. I never met you in person, but you were a great member. My condolences to your family, and I hope you rest in peace.
  8. Gah!! I already said that! Look up! Any way, I'm looking forward to the conclusion. I wonder how it's going to wrap up. Mostly, though, I want to see the Commandos. I hope this means that they're going to do something with them, seeing as they already have the models.
  9. Nope. In TCW he's played by Terrence Carson. Samuel Jackson did voice him in TCW movie, though. I wonder why he quite after the movie. Maybe they couldn't afford him?
  10. I loved the battle at the beginning. Lots of explosions and action. It was also nice to see Ventress's ship, and even Obi's, which doesn't get much screen time. I'm still confused how Obi managed to fly his fighter out of the Seppie ship, even after it crashed and was on fire. I'm not quite sure what to think of the Nightsisters. I'm not familiar with their lore, so I can't really say much. There seemed to be a lot of magic-mystic voice stuff going on, as well as floating hair and...magic water? Homeopathy, anyone? Every assassination plot in the CW has been pretty bad and 'unintelligent', as you say. For the CW, however, this one, I think, was the most entertaining, as we got to see more of Dooku sword fighting(in his dressing gown), which I think we need more of. Oh, and one last thing: Teenage Ventress. That is all.
  11. Well done, Oky! It's close to the original, and I like the use of that blue/silver turbine for the main drive...thing. A great fit for an otherwise useless piece. Todo is, of course, great. Like the others have said, the size matters not. Judge him by his size, do you? Great little droid you have there.
  12. Ooh, shiny. Good question. Are the cables hidden, or do they stick out?
  13. No. While I thought the Robot Chicken sketch was fairly funny, in no way does it deserve it's own thread, nor do the 'Yo mamma' jokes. Thread closed. EDIT: Did KimT really approve this? I find this...inconceivable.
  14. Of course. They are their own species. The entire trilogy in one night sounds great.
  15. I like movie accuracy, so I'm going to have to go for the first one. It looks great. Removable magazines are tough. I like the function, but they do tend to get in the way of accuracy.
  16. Wow. Some pretty trippy stuff going on in that preview. First, let me get this out of my system: Anakin: "NOOOOOOOOO!" Anyway. So, what are we seeing here? A guy who turns into a bat-thing? Dragons? Glowing spirit things? Spontaneously changing seasons? I'm not sure, but this is a pretty weird side of the Force. Clones have new blasters? Ahsoka's second lightsaber is yellow. Trandoshans! Lots of Trandoshans! And they're not fat! Obi-wan has a funky sword. Duel of the Fates made me happy.
  17. It was made of bronze and wood, actually. And it was thousands, not hundreds of years. /nitpick The original may have had up to 72 gears, while the lego version had 110 gears. The designer had to use multiple gears to copy the function of one on the original, since the prefab gears had a different number of teeth than the original. That said, the original is much more impressive, simply because they had to design it from scratch, based off of their observations of the stars. That is absolutely phenomenal.
  18. Currently reading Neil Shubin's Your Inner Fish. It's a great book, as he discusses the various evidence to show how we were descended from fish. He also gave a talk a little while ago on finding Tiktaalik. It was fascinating. I also got my copy autographed! Woo! I'm also reading Aldo Leopold's A Sand County Almanac. It's really a great book, and very touching. Anyone interested in wildlife conservation should read it. I need to read his other books. TGSOE was great. As for Origin of the Species, I've read segments. The one that comes to mind is the paragraph on the eye- mostly because it's misquoted so much. He's definitely very vocal about it. It's easy to understand why he goes after them- seeing the poll examples he gave made me cry, just a little bit.
  19. How nice that would be. Due to the scale, however, it's impossible to have an astromech fit without it being too blocky. It's still an improvement over the last model- at least we have a body to put it on.
  20. Wow. This is the first line that I want all of the minifigs. The flask, the floppy hat, the hazmat suit, the ...everything. I'll have to get back to this when I can type coherently. I'm a little disappointed with the Viking, though. This would have been a great opportunity for a more accurate helmet.
  21. Were you listening? Ahsoka is taken captive to lure Anakin to the dark side. Completely different. I wonder how specific his fortune cookie is. It can't have been that specific, since he loses it anyways.
  22. Yes! I can't wait. I'm curious to see the lego version...and slightly scared. Gary the Stormtrooper looks funny, too. Now, to go watch the last two.
  23. I do not think that word means what you think it means. Anyway, it looks nothing like anime. For one, it's computer-animated. If anything, the design more closely resembles Transformers: Animated two years back, which also had long faces and mouths. Everything else looks good, except that the faces just look ridiculous.
  24. I really do miss my old exceptional guitar. However, there just didn't seem to be enough 'fun' stuff. There were lots of opportunities to obtain backpack space, but it still wasn't enough. If you have too much backpack space, though, it's a nightmare to find stuff. I don't know about you, but I build the anchor to get rid of the ape. That tends to work faster . It is a problem, but part of that is probably the target audience- they're kids. They might not have picked up on the 'Chivalry of the MMO' yet (if there is one...). As for dragons, I'm not really sure what happens with them. There appear to be separate treasure boxes for each person, but I think everyone has access to the loot once it's opened. An easy fix would be to allow players to join multiple factions. I know I hated having to go start over again just to try out another class. I gave up on using it. I've had a few glorious moments (mostly at the concert) when someone realizes that, "Oh, hey, do you need help in building all of the stage effects at once?" But these instances are pretty rare. It's pretty much the luck of the draw. I stand around the game loader waiting for someone who looks useful. It's worst in the Avant Gardens battle area- the only people who seem to play there are fresh characters with nothing on them except their beginner sword. It makes the team matches absolutely worthless. Yup. In fact, I probably might prefer it. I can't talk to people I do know, and there's no real way to team up with them if I could. No online play means no kids, and no monthly bill.
  25. Now, I love soundtracks. And the soundtrack is one of Universe's strengths, along with the beautiful scenery. It's one of the reasons I tolerated Beta despite the bugs. I ran across this just now. It's a compilation of the music during Beta, compiled with (minimal) sound effects. As far as I can tell, there's nothing wrong with it- the NDA has been lifted, and there's no official soundtrack (unfortunately...). My favorite is probably the Minifig Brig Jig. Apologies if this has been posted.
