  1. +1 to legomr. Big thanks for the figs and a smooth trade!
  2. Phew! I thought the world already ended wherever the servers are located ...
  3. You need three more posts, but use them wisely!
  4. Phew, I made it! As time past I was afraid I'll have to put so much effort into next years as Si-MOCs did this year :P And prize B, what can I say - Heeeey sexy ladies ... Gungan style :) (© Oky)
  5. Future probably means series 10 and on. Interesting decision, but usefulness of the box will depend on what the spare 14 figs are :D (wonder if the distribution will be the same in all boxes?
  6. Another fine example why redcoats are superior is their navigation skills. We have the finest map makers around who know every corner of the world in detail and are even able to understand such sophisticated things as the notorious turning circle map! In case you missed: part I: Fencing part II: Artillery
  7. Ok, I went through it twice more, but still it didn't bring much up for me. The only plus for me is the arresting of the monkeys part. And the Fabuland monkey really is hilarious and works very well with the line "... every monkey in the country" plus it's LEGO related. Should have mentioned this before but forgot ... I do understand your idea with absurd humor maybe even some pointless jokes like: Johnny came to the baker who asked him: "Do you want a white or a brown bread?" and Johnny replies: "It doesn't matter, cos I'm with my bike" ... yeah things like this work pretty well with company in a bar - especially if you're a little drunk - but somehow for my taste it doesn't work here. Maybe i understood the competition wrong or just took it too seriously, because what I'm trying to do is play the role of my character. That's why I'm not killing anyone in my comics (yet ) for it doesn't make sense killing someone who would then happily keep on posting. If I killed poor Pastry in my first comic, who would then host the competition?! Maybe your way is another alternative in doing it and might be worth trying it ... which gives me an idea (hope I find time to realize it)! Ok, another thing that bothers me is the made up names. If I call myself A and in the comics you call my character X it's a bit pointless don't you think? And from an role playing aspect I predict we (as well as the tournament) all live/exist in the same universe. Now if not everyone is using the Banania for either a name of city, Island or anything else it too is kind of pointless. Yes I'm a realist and abstract art is not for me. I'm sorry if I upset you in any way, I didn't mean to be harsh. I do understand there's much effort in this comic since I know how much time my 3 image comics took me. All I wanted to say was (and explained why), this is not a kind of comic that would convince me into voting for it, considering it was the final product. Which in the end is your and everybody's goal I guess!
  8. This was the worst episode ever! I almost started acting like the Admiral grushopper - or whatever that thing is. Oh no, wait there seems to be even something worse - the arc has not finishe yet ... In general this season is as dull as it gets ... I mean come on, Star Wars is about Jedi and lightsabers or at least about Clones and shooting. I need more action. I do believe it might get better with the chancelor fighting Maul and stuff, but so far ... it will hardly beat any of the previous seasons.
  9. Nice little creations here! 11 is Cpt. America, 12 Superman, I don't know who 13 is? 4 and 5 are difficult as well. Is 5 the invisible woman?
  10. Another nice attempt, but news - television - and pirates somehow son't work for me. The western wanted images were ok, but television ... You could use at least 2-3 different images for the reporter not only one. It'd make the comic more dynamic. Good thing is that official entries are capped to 10 images since this is far too long for my taste. Or maybe there's just not enough going on - 13 images basically telling the same thing. And RR has nothing to do with Rs or Bs as far as I know. Sorry for too much criticism, it's not because you're blue ;) And get the better camera fixed ASAP. The clear images you include from others really don't work well with yours.
  11. Luckily I don't see any heads of the wanted redcoats in the pile. In fact, you were killing some poor bald civillians ... and got paid for it?! Bluecoats, they really are low! But else nice little imaginary comic there. Try to enhance your photography! It might help a lot in the final products. I'm no expert but strong straight (but shaded - I use baking paper) lighting to the pictured objects always makes my images less grainy. Forced flash also helps some times but causes some reflections. I presume you're using a mobile camera, which aren't that great. Also try croping the wanted images to the same size, else it looks a bit unorganized just like you bluecoats are :D P.S. Good luck becoming a pate in the Trolls cave ;)
  12. As I already said somewhere, one of the best contests around! The idea of recreating a comic cower was brilliant and also all the entries were quite distinct and represented the covers well. I was also really happy about the number of entries which gives a lot of images to drool over. Although I think it was quite tight in the top 5 - 6, I guess the winners are well deserved. ut as said, there actually was no bad entrie. Could we maybe get some more results? Congratulations to all the winners and all you lucky bastards who won the raffle ;)
  13. As I understood the rules, you first have to get to the third phase, so don't bother with any work in advance for nothing
  14. The best part is he's ordering from a map - or was he planing where he's going after lunch. I doubt the latter :D
  15. Why reviving old topics for this tournament? It's got nothing to do with it ... it's clearly a tribute to the set as described. Like in reality chicks pose on cars, Redcoats do it on gun carriages, since cars were not invented by the time ... BTW: nice little MOC there :D
  16. There's quite a lot of trash-talk going on in the previous topic but I prefer pure facts to some made up stories ... I only joined the redcoats this year and here is how I learned the bluecoat's stupidities from our experienced Commander: In case you missed: part I: Fencing
  17. Nice vig dr_spock, of course the bluecoats don't understand our gentlemen codex of war - we tickle the prisoners when hung, so that they smile and lough until they run out of air. This way we don't have to look at their grimacing faces ...
  18. Even if not dead, he's pretty useless hanging up there. And by the time you lazy bluecoats get there to rescue him, he might be just bones and some hair ...
  19. Can everyone in here write where his fig parts are from (edit your posts)? It's quite hard to find some figure parts source, since I'm not exactly a LEGO encyclopedia :D At least mention 1 set each part is available in. I can then search all others via BL. Now for some I don't even know if I own them or not.
  20. Well I need to get the white epaulettes somewhere. This complexity is quite a subjective matter. I for example don't have any of the older redcoats and none of the older blue sergeants. My fig is at least whole from one theme, and not like Yawgmoths :) But you're getting your share! I really didn't imagine somebody in the pirates subforum wouldn't have the Black Pearl!? The tricorne can be black, the torso can be any red torso, since not much is seen and pants are also not that important - they just went well with the fig :)
  21. I'm glad you all appreciate it! Now there's a smart Bluecoat, for a change. Hey there's still time to switch sides ;)
  22. That's interesting, I ordered mine when they were marked off and also had a strange problem. I could order all the sets but the smallest one - it was apparently marked as not shipping to Slovenia. I guess they have some problems with auto calculated restrictions. My guess is that the smallest set was marked as not shipping internationally for the postage being almost as high as the set price. But the system never checked if you ordered anything else, to combine into one package. Sad that they really don't seem to know what they're selling as seen from the reply you got. I'd say try to contact them again, maybe you get luckier with the persn who get's the mail :D BTW my sets were dispatched and I'm expecting them early next week!!
  23. Ha, my first title! Takes the lead - I think it's from Red Hat for beating the Bluecoat Admiral in the first free RvB comic :)
  24. 18. by Kristel - (I like you keeping the avatar in style!) 29. by Plissken - 1 point (This guy really looks bad-as*) * <- so that it's not megablocks :D 32. by toutouille - 1 point (Vegetables are healthy)
  25. Photoshop is a good friend ;)
