  1. Hey yoda, Could you let me do these? I've got all four coming in around Wednesday (might get the three besides Durmstrang Ship in today, though!), and I haven't had a chance to do a review in a while. :-D
  2. Wacky - new wing piece! Cool. Worth it just for those.
  3. I gotta get me one of those bikes.
  4. Viking Fortress vs. Fafnir Dragon and Viking Catapult vs. Nidhogg Dragon.
  5. All of them, yes.
  6. Inventories are fine. Most AFOLs won't buy a set until they see the inventory, so it makes LEGO some money. Also, unless someone feels like doing some serious guess-and-check work, they can't build it with just the piece list.
  7. Well, if it's that small it's no threat to them. It only takes one well-meaning person to shut the site down, though, so they'd go down fast anyway. PS - I have the same program, comes in useful at times.
  8. I think most people have had the common decency to take down instructions when asked by LEGO... and it wouldn't take them much time at all to fix things up themselves, if they felt like resolving things forcefully. First, they could contact the site hosting the instructions and inform them that you were violating the law, and force the site to take them down, assuming it was a commerical hosting site like Geocities or IX Web Hosting. If they actually wanted to locate you or telephone you, then they would simply get your ISP and IP address from us, and contact the ISP, and ask for your information. You're not using a proxy, so there shouldn't be a problem as far as that goes.
  9. No, you'd get a cease-and-desist, most likely.
  10. Well, as a general rule of thumb, I use Firefox... IE is loaded with viruses. See if that works, and even if it doesn't you have a better browser. ;)
  11. Wow. Just... wow. I'll update the list shortly. EDIT: Ok, updated.
  12. Retail for that is about $220 USD, and consider prices are much worse in Europe for this, it's a great deal.
  13. Which means they're in production and on sale. The general rule is 2-3 years before scans can be posted.
  14. Considering it's illegal to post scans of instructions for sets in production, no.
  15. About 15. There are somewhere around 70 pieces total. And I wasn't talking about just the model itself... the pieces are much more versatile. Having a sinister dragon head that can be attached to more than just a crocodile and a dragon, wings that actually look good-sized, and good white teeth/horns makes a big difference for MOCs. Not to mention, they actually come in a variety of colors now rather than just green.
  16. I like it. I'd buy one, and I have like... one MINI so far.
  17. I can create more out of the pieces from a Viking dragon than an old dragon. Larger dragons, smaller dragons, dragons in different colors, dragons with lots of heads, etc. The old dragons are compatible only with old dragons, and only exactly as the old dragons were made in the instructions, except for the arms, which use pins.
  18. Or you could just search for parts with 'dragon' in the name, they're in the first two rows... http://peeron.com/inv/catpic/save/881624271 The arms clip on as well... but of course, the superior Vikings dragons are made up of many more...
  19. No, you do get to pick what parts you get, you just get EXTRA parts as well.
  20. The parts are packaged in 'groups'... so you'll get extra parts you don't need.
  21. http://www.lego.com/eng/factory/default.asp Knock yourself out. I downloaded it and went for a spin, unless you want generic bricks, there is NOTHING there. Once more parts packs come out though, I'll be using this like crazy, the program is great and the controls are fantastic, very easy to use. No 1x1 slopes, though... :(
  22. Well, it's that time of year again, when students everywhere are forced into stone buildings guarded by armed police officers, where adults watch over them for the duration of the day and permission is needed to go to the bathroom. What am I talking about? School, of course! Tomorrow is my first day of 10th grade, and I'm sure a bunch more of our younger members will be starting within the next week or so as well. So what grade are you going into? What's your schedule? Are your teachers bloodsucking monsters? In answer to my own question, my classes are: Greek I Latin II English II Honors Debate I Biology Honors Health II Theatre II Algebra II Civics & Economics Honors So share your tales of woe with me, brothers!
  23. Not to mention, the 33rd star is missing. A mystery indeed.
  24. Pirate movies, or any movie for that matter (save Star Wars), only have a short vogue of toys following their release, so it wouldn't be that consequential except immediately following the movie(s). Just look at Harry Potter - they sell like hotcakes for a few months after each movie or book, but then by the same time next year they're on clearance for 70% off. The same thing would happen with a Pirates line in tune with PotC, just on a lesser scale - many more children go to see Harry Potter than Pirates of the Carribean. Besides, LEGO has said Vikings have had a gigantic reception throughout Europe, much more popular than they expected. They're not going to throw out a competing line and confuse the consumers when Vikings seem to be working just fine.
